Meanwhile, back at Lina's home, she lay in her bed, her body wrapped in the warmth of the blankets. She was exhausted, her body aching from her constant struggles in the past few hours. She had decided to take a lazy day, one where she would do nothing but rest and recharge, and she was determined to see it through.
Her mind was lost in the blissful oblivion of sleep. As Lina closed her eyes and let herself sink deeper into slumber's soft embrace, she felt relieved that Qingcang was not near her. The lack of his presence felt like a blessing to her, and she finally managed to fall asleep, breathing deep and rhythmic as she snuggled into the soft, fluffy pillows. Her mind was at ease, her worries forgotten for the moment.
In her dreams, she saw herself running through a field of flowers, the sun warm on her face and the breeze blowing through her hair. Lina felt a sense of freedom, of weightlessness, and for a moment, she forgot all her worries.
But Lina's peaceful rest was short-lived by Qingcang's return. The air in the room grew tense and heavy as his wing-shaped aura spread out, casting a dark, ominous shadow over the room. The black aura surrounding him pulsed with scarlet shimmers, giving him an otherworldly appearance.
Qingcang strode towards the bed, his eyes never leaving her as he assessed the situation. Lina was sleeping in the middle of the bed, her limbs sprawled out and her hair a tangled mess. It was clear she had no intention of getting up anytime soon.
Qingcang scowled, unable to believe the sight in front of him that he surveyed. He had been gone for only ten minutes, yet here was Lina, already fast asleep on the hotel bed. He scowled as he thought to himself, 'This carefree girl... Doesn't she understand the danger that she's in? Now, she wants to sleep?'
With a deep sigh, Qingcang reached out his hand and gently nudged Lina's cheek with his pointing finger. "Wake up," he said in a firm but soft voice.
Lina stirred slightly, her voice thick with sleep as she murmured, "Leave me alone..."
Qingcang clenched his jaw tightly, struggling to keep his patience in check. "It's time to get up," he said, his tone clipped and annoyed.
Lina groaned and buried her face into the pillow. "Five more minutes..." she muttered, her body sinking back into the soft mattress.
Qingcang shook his head, trying to figure out how he would deal with Lina. He needed her to be alert and always ready, yet here she was, sleeping like a baby. He knew he could not afford to let his guard down, especially when his life was at stake. With fierce determination, he grabbed the blankets and yanked them off the bed to end her laziness. "No more sleeping," he declared, his voice firm as he stood over her.
As Lina stirred and her eyes fluttered open, she was greeted by Qingcang's steely gaze, his expression filled with unwavering resolve. She glared at him, her body still half-asleep and struggling to stay awake. "What's your problem?" she demanded.
Qingcang replied harshly, "We have to open the portal now!" He had finally had enough of Lina's idleness.
"Get out!" Lina shouted angrily, her patience with Qingcang at its end. She could not believe how forceful he was; the sudden burst of energy he brought with him only made her feel more tired.
"You!" Qingcang exclaimed, shocked at Lina's impulsive behavior. He had never seen her so defiant before, and the fact that she was now actively resisting him was starting to get under his skin.
Lina's voice rose in frustration as she demanded, "Leave me alone!" Her irritation was palpable as she spoke, emphasizing each word with force, "You're why I didn't get any sleep last night! You kept me awake, and now I'm too tired! Besides, I told you I'm not your wife, so I won't sleep next to you, let alone live with you! I'm so done with you ordering me around! Got it?" Her voice quivered with anger as she finished speaking.
Qingcang was taken aback by Lina's sudden outburst. He had never expected her to talk back to him so boldly, and the fact that she was now openly defying his authority was a significant blow to his ego. He could feel his anger rising, but he took a deep breath and tried to calm himself down. He thought to himself, 'Then it's decided...' and took a deep breath, clearing his throat. "That's about to change," he said seriously, eyeing her closely.
Lina looked at Qingcang with confusion and wondered what he was talking about. "Huh?" she asked, raising an eyebrow.
"We're going to get married now," Qingcang said severely, grabbing her hand and yanking her out of bed. Lina was taken aback and stumbled as she tried to keep up with his sudden movements.
The room was filled with an awkward silence as Lina looked up at Qingcang with disbelief. "What? Why?" she asked, feeling her heart rate increase with each passing second.
"Don't make me regret my decision," Qingcang replied sternly, still holding Lina's hand, indicating that he was about to take her somewhere.
Lina's mind was racing with confusion and questions as she blinked in disbelief. She had never expected Qingcang to take her half-hearted words seriously. "Wait! Now?" she asked, trying to slow down her breathing.
"Mhm," Qingcang replied, looking away from Lina with a stern expression, the tension in the room increasing.
Lina's heart raced as Qingcang dropped the bombshell. She could not believe what she was hearing. She yanked her hand away from him and looked at him with disbelief. "Hold up!" she exclaimed. "You're telling me that I am going to get married to a random fairy that I just met?" Her eyes widened with shock as she tried to make sense of the situation. As she struggled to hold her laughter, she could not help but feel a sense of amusement. 'I knew it!' she thought, trying to suppress a grin, but it was not easy. 'He's so in love with me that he agreed to marry me to spend time with me. What a genius plan of his.'
'F-fairy? This again!' Qingcang fumed internally. He could feel his anger boiling over as Lina looked at him amusedly. He could not believe that she was taking the situation so lightly. On top of that, she still thought that he was a fairy.
'He's so gullible that he actually took my words seriously!' Lina thought and snickered to herself, feeling satisfied as she could not resist the urge to tease Qingcang.
"Yes, unless you want to stay in danger," Qingcang said bluntly, trying to convey the seriousness of the situation. His voice was tinged with frustration as he tried to make Lina understand the gravity of the crisis.
Lina's laughter could not be contained any longer. She laughed so hard that her stomach hurt, and tears rolled down her face. The sound of her own laughter only made her laugh even harder. She could see the shock and anger in Qingcang's eyes, but she could not help herself.
Amidst her uncontrollable laughter, Lina managed to utter some words, "I... never... thought... that... you're... this... naive..." Her voice was high-pitched and filled with amusement as she struggled to contain her pleasure, almost choking in the process.
Qingcang's frustration only grew as Lina continued to laugh. He could not understand how she could be so cavalier about the situation. He tried to remain calm and composed, but it was becoming increasingly difficult.
Qingcang, standing in front of her, could not hide his bitterness as he heard her laughing at him. He tried his best to contain his fury, but he could not help thinking, 'For how long do I have to contain myself from killing her? I want to cut off her arms and legs.' His lips twisted into a sneer, but he kept calm despite Lina's laughter getting on his nerves. He was determined to hold back his anger and avoid doing anything he might regret later.
Lina, on the other hand, seemed to be thoroughly enjoying herself as she entertained the idea of making a deal with Qingcang. 'I mean, what's the harm? He's going away anyways, and if he wanted to harm me, he could have done so already,' she thought as she laughed. "F-fine, but on two conditions," she said, still giggling.
Qingcang, waiting for Lina to finish, crossed his arms over his chest impatiently and replied, "Go ahead." He knew that he had limited patience for her nonsense.
Lina cleared her throat to ease the soreness her excessive laughter caused before she spoke, "We have to divorce on the day the portal opens before you return."
Qingcang's eyebrows furrowed, and he looked genuinely puzzled. "What's a divorce?" he asked.
Lina was taken aback by his question. She could not believe what she was hearing. 'Wait... he doesn't know what a divorce is? Fairies don't divorce?' she thought to herself in disbelief. "Y-you don't know?" she stammered in doubt, but Qingcang's silence confirmed that he did not. She collected herself and explained, "It's a legal separation between a married couple." Inwardly, she was astonished, 'So, he loves me so much that he wanted to marry me permanently?'
"Fine, even better," Qingcang agreed with a cunning grin that went unnoticed by Lina. 'I wanted to kill her anyways after I go back to my world and have found the way to break my boundness to her emotions and life,' he thought. "What is your other condition?"
Lina stood in front of Qingcang, her expression resolute. "We should sleep separately," she said firmly, emphasizing each word.
Qingcang's patience withered, and his tone grew more menacing as he spoke. "I'm going to repeat this, Silly Little Human," he warned, his voice low and threatening.
Lina was not intimidated by Qingcang's tone and remained aloof and disrespectful in her retort, causing him to be taken aback. "Yeah yeah, I know; you've told me a thousand times that we should sleep together. But I want to remain pure for my real marriage when that time comes, alright?" she said, her voice laced with annoyance.
Qingcang raised an eyebrow in surprise and asked, "What do you mean by pure?" His tone was curious, but there was a hint of irritation in his voice.
'Is he being serious right now? Doesn't he know anything?' Lina thought to herself. As she pondered this, she tried to hide her surprise and asked Qingcang, "Have you never had a woman before?" Her tone was incredulous, as she could not believe what she had heard.
Qingcang's answer was blunt and straightforward, "No."
Lina almost gagged on her saliva at Qingcang's response. 'That explains everything... He's so innocent,' she thought. Trying to hide her shock, she asked him another question, "Well, you do know how babies are made, right?"
Qingcang looked at her, his arms still crossed over his chest, and Lina could see that the question did not amuse him.
"W-wait, you don't know?" Lina asked in disbelief.
"The strong don't need to know," Qingcang replied firmly with a scowl.
Lina could not believe what she was hearing. Qingcang was so clueless about the most basic facts of life, and she could hardly contain herself from laughing out loud. But then again, it was not his fault; he had been raised in a different world with different priorities. 'I never knew that he is so...dense,' she thought shockingly. Realizing that this was not a laughing matter, she cleared her throat and tried to be serious. "Fine, we'll sleep in the same room, but you should not touch me in ways that could lead to... baby-making... Okay?" she said, trying to sound firm but failing to mask her unease.
Qingcang looked at Lina with his arms still crossed over his chest, seemingly confused. "And what's that?" he asked, his tone betraying his ignorance.
Lina hesitated for a moment, unsure how to explain it. She finally said, "I-it's best if you don't know it; you might get traumatized by it. Do you agree with my terms?"
Qingcang scoffed, clearly uninterested in the subject. He said, "Fine," and then lowered his arm to grab her hand. "Now, let's go," he said, pulling Lina along.
Lina suddenly exclaimed, "Wait!"
Qingcang was caught off guard and turned to face Lina with a scowl. She could see that her interruption unsettled him, but she had to make him understand the situation.
"What?" Qingcang asked impatiently, clearly bothered. "Do you want to make a fuss about it?"
Lina stepped back, realizing she had caught Qingcang at a bad time. "No, you don't understand, Pretty Eyes," she said, trying to keep her tone light. "We must wait a few hours until someone is available to marry us, and we need two witnesses."
Qingcang's scowl deepened as he realized the gravity of the problem. "Then go find them!" he demanded in a low tone, clearly growing impatient.
'Wow, I never realized his crush on me was so deep that he can't wait to marry me,' Lina thought as she blinked. She rolled her eyes at Qingcang's impatience. "Geez... I will," she said, "but it will take some time. In the meantime, do you want to take a bath? You haven't relaxed since you got here, and it might do you some good."
Qingcang snorted in response, clearly unimpressed by Lina. "Hmph," he said, turning to walk away. 'After my bath, I will tie up some humans to force them to cooperate with this marriage,' he thought, his eyes darkening.
Lina was left standing there, feeling bewildered by Qingcang's behavior. "Uhh, was that a yes?" she called after him, hoping to get a clear answer. She sighed and shook her head, realizing that she was in for a long day.
Don't be so surprised, lol. This series has always been a "kiss first, love later" type, so I figured to go all the way, muahahaha. It now became a "human marriage first, love later" type :D You're welcome!
By the way, tell me what you think of it! And don't forget to give this a like to help me out!
