Ava sat on the couch in the living room, feeling lost and alone in the unfamiliar surroundings of their new home. She had only been here a few days, but it already felt like an eternity. She missed her old friends and her old life, and she resented her father for uprooting her.
As she sat there, lost in thought, she heard the front door open. Her father walked in, looking tired but relieved to be home.
"How was work?" Ava asked, trying to make conversation.
Her father didn't answer right away, instead looking at her with concern etched on his face.
"Is everything okay?" Ava asked, sensing that something was wrong.
"I just worry about you, Ava," her father said, sitting down beside her. "You're going through so much, and I don't want to make things any harder for you."
Ava felt a pang of guilt. She knew her father was doing everything he could to make their new life work, but she couldn't help feeling resentful towards him.
"I just need some time to adjust," she said, trying to reassure him. "Things will get better."
That night, Ava went to bed early, hoping to get some rest. As she drifted off to sleep, she found herself in a strange dream.
She was running through the woods, her feet pounding the earth as she ran faster and faster. Suddenly, she felt a strange sensation, and she stumbled to a stop, looking down at her hands. To her shock, they had turned into paws, covered in black fur.
Panicked, she looked around and saw a grey wolf standing before her, its eyes piercing her with an intense gaze.
Before she could even react, the wolf spoke to her in a low growl. "Ava," it said. "Welcome to our world."
Ava gasped, feeling a sense of recognition wash over her. This wolf was the same one she had been dreaming about for days.
The wolf continued to speak, its voice now clear and articulate. "You have been brought here for a reason, Ava," it said. "I don't know why, but ill protect you."
Ava listened intently, but unable to understand this dream.
"You must learn to embrace your true nature," the wolf said. "Only then can you reach beyond the veil that separates our worlds."
Ava woke up with a start, her heart racing as she tried to process the strange dream. She couldn't shake the feeling that it was more than just a dream, that it held some deeper meaning.
As she lay in bed, she couldn't help but wonder what her true nature was and what role she was meant to play in the strange world of the wolves.
Yeah, moving is always rough, rougher when you don't have the best relationship with your family. I hope Ava and her dad will bond in spite of what happened in the past :)
