*Sniffles*
I couldn’t stop crying after she left, because the young lady who was running away from me was my mom in my past life, she just now told me to stay out of her new life. I mean how was I supposed to know, literally I just got here yesterday when I saw my own death? I was scared, and I just wanted to see her…..honestly I was terrified, I just wanted to see my family.
Waking up to this new world and being alone from the start scared me even knowing that my own mom turns out to be a young teenager in this next life. I mean I guess she was just trying to live a new life and I came by accident and found her, but is that my fault for butting in. Having mixed emotions and hate towards her I still couldn’t stop crying as it was getting hard to breathe from all that emotion in a child's body. I tried to calm myself down by the happy thoughts from my past life but rather than that it just made me sad again.
“…..what do I do…..*hic*….*growl*….I’m hungry.”
Slowly rising up while rubbing my eyes to dry up my tears to search for food, my stomach growls even louder as I get hungrier.
*Panting*
Running forward, she turns her head side to side.
“Where is she! She wasn’t far from here. I was just angry and scared and-and I'm sorry, I’m sorry!”
She runs with all her might looking deeper into the forest.
“Hmm?”
For a moment I thought I heard something so I stood still and listened but I shrugged my head and continued on because for a while there was no noise or signs of movement. What exactly was I expecting? It's just like our old life, I had to grow up and deal with reality and deal with things by myself. During this small journey of mine I have come to accept my new reality…kinda, to think I'm actually using my head to think about something so serious. Though I’m still sad and angry about it along with her reason why, but maybe it's probably for my own good.
Unknowingly they passed each other going they're separate ways.
Deeper in the forest, I noticed the vibrant colors changed from the ground, to trees, and to the plants. Everything was glowing in color, with the sounds of the wind rustling with fallen leaves and the rushing creek snapped with harmony like an orchestra. It was breathtaking to feel relief and to actually breathe in clean air, honestly it took my mind away from all the pain and stress I was having. Then something magical happened, in front of me. The land began to glow with shining stars across the area as if it was reaching out to the purple sky, I just had to sit and watch this.
"Beautiful."
I don't know how long I was there for, but there was a person right next to me, staring at me. Honestly I screamed.
"ArGh!"
A scream is a scream, and I don't know why it had to be that one but it was a scream.
"You're funny."
"You're not funny!"
I stood up then saw food next to the person and immediately went back down and looked at her food, she burst out laughing.
"Pfft, hahahaha I never had anyone who would dare scream, yell, and sit back down to just stare at my food before!"
Unknowingly she shoved something in my mouth.
"!!!"
Delicious! Grabbing a few more in my mouth as flavors mixed and mashed up deliciously in my mouth.
"...."
I stopped putting more in my mouth as the person pierced holes through me, I put down whatever it was and looked back at the shining stars like it was a normal thing to do. She chuckles as she watches me slowly grabbing more food to my side.
"Do you know what that is?"
I said as I tried to be more stealthily by grabbing the food next to me.
"Pfft, don't you humans use it?"
"I don't know, I just got here."
"Here?"
"Yeah, I got reincarnated…..I wasn't going to say that to you."
"Oh, a reborn."
She creeped up closer to me.
"And what's your name?"
"....kim…"
She then laughed.
"Hahahaha here, in this area. Is where the judgements are made."
"Judgements?"
She’s getting real close.
"Humans call this area 'Treasures Stone Cove' because once a year a group of humans will arrive and receive a gift made for them in stone."
"A stone?"
"Yes, a magical stone made and forged by a willow bark blacksmith."
"....really?"
I looked far into the forest where the stars rose, dancing in the air.
"Are you a Divine guardian?"
".....yes."
"Why was I reborn?"
She was silent as she was behind me hugging me now.
"Because you're my Miracle."
"You're not surprised?"
"At what?"
She says as I ask her more questions about this and that and how she found me, but she just smiled and said that she wasn't going to make the same mistake again.
"I think you're a strange lady."
I said as I held her tighter with my small hands.
"I think you're strange for following me."
I stopped in my tracks and looked behind me.
"What do you mean by Miracle?"
"How did you know I was a guardian?"
She smiled as she asked another question while putting me up in her arms and pointed in a direction.
"The moon?"
I asked and she shook her head.
"Beyond the moon and above the sea of stars."
My eyes searched where she described and all I saw was the big purple moon.
"You're looking too hard, look again."
I frowned as I looked at her then I saw something else, it was her beauty. Her branded blond hair and silver eyes.
Out loud I said this to her face and touched her rough skin.
"It was the teacher, she told the students about you. How a ‘Divine Guardian’ is a gatekeeper and bringer of judgments."
I said as I felt a pat on my head then quickly turned my head away from her and looked to the sky, the purple moon.
"The northern lights!"
"We call them 'Borealis Nile' the light river, they only appear once in a great moon and when they do appear. A new Miracle is born."
I look at her and she looks at me.
"You are my Miracle, never forget that. Now you answer my question."
She isn't going to let this go is she.
After revealing everything I know from a day ago, she told me that I wasn't wrong about the voice I heard in the forest. Because of my unique situation I was born 10 or 20 years later than those from my past life, who are now in their teens or adult life. Then she told me that….if my mother had accepted me or any of my family members did then we would've been used for war.
"Miracle's are a bit known to be special for their abilities, some are certainly dangerous or some are really useless."
My brows raised up as I looked at her and hit her shoulder.
"Hahaha don't worry, I believe everyone's abilities are wonderful….your mother from your past life, she came back looking for you."
"....she did."
"She did, she was looking for you. Are you alright?"
"No, no I'm not alright….I understand that she had 10 years of her life and she must’ve accepted that this was her new life. Along with everything and everyone else, but that also means that I too need to accept my new reality ….you said my mother came back for me."
"I did."
"Was she able to find me?"
"No."
"Your mother could not see you as she made the decision."
"Decision?"
"When she left you behind, that was her decision. Miracle's were created to shift the balance or create a new balance over the old. Since this was her decision and she left you behind, you also made your decision didn't you."
I remained silent remembering what happened not too long ago and tried finding the right words to respond back.
"....she said what she wanted to say, and I was really hurt by it. But I believe…she needs to be happy too and I can't take that away from her."
"Then don't worry, you saw him didn’t you."
"Saw what?"
"The young man hiding behind the trees."
"No…I was focused on my mom…"
"Well we have a lot to do don't we."
"Huh?"
"Lesson number 1."
The conversation shifted with endless soreness in my body.
Huffing and puffing I couldn’t believe this.
"How is this 'lesson number 1' ? It's just pain! And I never agreed to this! "
"Well, how else are you going to keep yourself safe?"
"....yes ma'am…."
I just went along and did what I was told to do, honestly I'm just doing it to survive this world and this is what she tells me to do. Running forward and back to climbing trees and going back down, I feel so weak and dizzy and very thirsty. Everything she made me do was something else I never did in my last life, I just stayed home and watched TV, played games, and slept in peace. But now I have to exercise and put knowledge in my head to survive in this new world, and it's no joke. I might actually die again.
It hasn't been that long since I stayed with Cora, but the training felt like years went by. I'm tired, sore, and in pain. My hands were full of scars from swinging a sword and a bow string hitting my palm. And all I'm hearing from Cora was, 'it's building character' excuse me….I'M IN PAIN!!
"Apologies."
".....fruit."
I stretched out my hand waiting for my reward.
"Pfft, hahaha here."
"Thank you!"
Beaming with joy I put one in my mouth and continued the training with a positive attitude, while saving the rest for later.
"Is that all to motivate you?"
She says while looking at me.
"Yup."
She smiles then puts on a serious stances she then steps forward stabbing a sword near my neck, by falling down I dodged it but she strikes again and again and all I can do is dodge.
“Faster, Kim.”
It's been almost a week and I got better by dodging and getting my mind to focus on the situation I’m in. Though honestly I think she’s trying to kill me.
“Well you lasted longer than before.”
…..it just sounds like a dirty joke and I’m not proud of it.
She let out a laugh then looked up to the sky, her face looked more serious than before as she turned to me and picked me up in her arms and we flew towards the sky.
