In the black of the dead sky, the lightings flashed sparks of life by fits and starts. It wasn't late before the rain killed the silence of night.
[Inside the compartment]
"Have I finally gone mad?", the thought came to Asher's mind.
" No, you haven't, and we don't have time to confirm your concerns. If you want to stay alive only listen and act.", the voice told, as if it was reading his mind.
If it was any other day, he would have questioned his conscious, but this time he strangely felt the chill through his body as if an unknown fear was taking over him.
With the rain swinging on the gust, the night was nothing but freezing.
But he could still feel the sweat rolling down his neck and the wetness on his palms. The feeling of his chest suddenly catching on fire became apparent. It was as if his body was telling him, with his heart screaming,
"If you want to live, listen to this voice."
"We don't have much time, take out your phone and tape it on the seat with the camera facing the door.", the voice reverbed.
Asher : " How? "
"The pizza boxes, next open the camera and set a timer of 28 seconds."
As he finished the preparations, the voice told him to start shaking his soda can and take the rusty piece of the broken window frames lying on the seat.
"Now! roll over to the right seat and keep quiet."
In the absolute of silence, a faint subtle sound came from the stairs.
Flash!
It was just for a scant instance, but he saw the white hair with a choppy bob cut and coral lips. Her eyes, they were an alluring blue with a skin faded in white.
"Kablam!!"
The shotgun on her hand fired.
"Now open the can, aiming her face."
As the soda splurt on her face, Asher didn't need the voice to instruct him any further on his next move.
Rushing out of his hiding, he hit her hand holding the gun, with the broken metal and kicked a falling Loralai out of the train.
Taking the opportunity, he bent down to find the gun.
"Bang!
Bang!!
Bang!!! "
Three shots.
Asher picked the gun and ran."Where's she", he turned his head around for a moment before entering the dilapidated station house.
Bright, the lightening flashed the broken down room. The stairway to the roof was broken with nothing underneath but just three of the steps hanging from the top.
Witnessing the built-up, Asher rushed straight towards the wall adjacent to the stairway. After running vertically on the wall for two steps he pushed his body with the rest of his might to hold on the branch that has broken into the room.
Then swinging on the branch back and forth for a few times he leapt for the broken steps.
[Few moments back]
The burning sensation in her eyes couldn't stop the chuckles on her mouth. It was as if she was drooling in lust. "It's becoming interesting, I'm starting to like it, Aaaah! Here it is.", the tears rolling down her eyes couldn't diminish the excitement in her heart.
The sound of the boots faded, she came out from under the train and dropped her overcoat. Pulling out a torch she started following the dirt marks left by the boots with her gun on the other hand.
[At the entrance of the station house]
"Damn bitch! Did you fly there?", a menacing voice laughed.
Asher looked back, a step away from the roof door. There she was, clad in black, dripping wet, shivering, biting her lips, pointing her gun towards him.
Asher pointed back.
" Bang!"
"Clack! "
"Empty right! Sorry, I forgot to reload last time. And ofcourse, don't worry, the one I fired wasn't to hurt you dear.
It was just to make you fire back, you know, just to make you aware.", letting out a grimly adorable smile she continued," Now hide baby, mama is coming for you."
Asher dashed past the roof door.
The rain was dancing in the wind's symphony orchestrating to the audience of darkness who spectated from the abyss.
She came out the station house. There was a tree growing half through the wall. She bent down, loosened the belts and took off her hills. Then taking the torch in her mouth she
started climbing, griping the cracks on the wall and the tree branches.
The blood from her right hand marked her every step. She couldn't feel her thumb or index finger anymore. But it was nowhere near enough to dent the adrenaline she was feeling at the moment.
Reaching the edge she looked into the roof but was unable to spot Asher directly. She jumped into the roof.
The rain drumming on the roof was enough to be deafening, she took the torch in her hand and started searching the area like a feline out for hunt.
The roof was plane and clear with no places to hide but the bulkhead entrance that blocked her vision.
She took a few steps back to examine the sides and then with a slight pace ran towards it and climbed the top of the bulkhead.
Pointing her gun down she looked ahead but to her surprise Asher wasn't there.
Bright!
Another lightening, she could she something coming form the side. But before she could react Asher, hanging on the edge of the bulkhead, hit her hands holding the gun and torch with the shotgun.
[Moments earlier while she was climbing]
"Go inside the bulkhead and hide behind the door", as Asher came out on the roof he heard that voice again.
But this time without questioning he followed it to the T.
A little later he could hear a vibrating sounds of someone climbing the bulkhead.
[Present time]
The torch and the gun bounced from her hand to the corner of the roof.
She jumped down on the roof and rushed towards the gun. Asher pursued her from behind.
A little more, and the gun was in her grasp but Asher aimed the shotgun and threw it at her heel.
She fell, as Asher passed her and took the gun.
Loralai saw the torch beside her, she grabbed it and struck Asher's hand with it the moment he turned back making him misfire.
Asher bashed her face with his fist as she flashed the torch in his eyes, thereby blinding him.
She rolled sideways and got up before Asher sightlessly shot the gun directing it in his front.
Asher got up and backing a little he tried to fire again but Loralai pounced on him taking a hold of the barrel.
The bullet touched her cheek and flew away blasting half her ear.
Headbutting her, he kicked her in abdomen to set himself free. Distancing himself, he shot again.
"Shit! it's empty. ", he threw the gun towards her and ran towards the roof edge.
The menacing laugh echoed in the rain," And here I thought you were lucky! ", she pulled the slide of the gun, emptying the blank shell that was stuck as she force-stopped the recoil while she grabbed the barrel.
" In times of desperation even the most trained make the silliest of slip ups. Right darling? ", Asher turned his head as he saw her fire once towards the sky.
" Run, baby, Run"
Asher jumped towards the train top from the roof edge.
