She continued to sweat and look around to see if anyone in the house was making too much eye contact with her. Fortunately, she was due to marry right now, and everyone was gathered in the nearby church, waiting for her and Matias to arrive and happily marry.

Meanwhile, her mother and father stayed put, waiting for Marina to finish getting ready so they could accompany her to the church. The middle aged frustrated woman was apprehensive about the whole situation with Matias and his family, and she knew something wasn't quite right. What makes an insanely wealthy family marry an average young girl? That was a question she couldn't answer herself. She kept attempting to reason with her husband, wondering whether they should find someone else for Marina and how she didn't want their daughter to be sad ever again.

Mr. Rivalli fixed his suit while looking at her.
"Dear, it's no longer our decision; the wedding is today, Marina wanted this anyways. And Matias is quite wealthy so I could really use some money from his family. I already convinced Marina to marry him and she agreed with me!" Annabella irritatedly stared at him and exclaimed, "We're her parents, we're allowed to do something!" She continued in a harsh tone. "Anything!?—Do you disagree with me?"

"I wish I could believe you Bella, but it's ridiculous; perhaps they're only trying to help? Not everything needs to have a reason. You do know that people can love each other, right?" She groaned and sat on the edge of their bed, her palm on her head, "I just—I want her to be happy, I feel terrible knowing she's unhappy with her life. I don't want her to live the same life that I did or marry a man for his money." The man felt terrible and tried to show her empathy by moving her light blonde hair with few visible grays, away from her face and gently kissing her cheek. "I know, don't be concerned. She'll be just fine. Please don't overwork yourself and try to keep upbeat." Even tho he himself only wanted of Marina to marry the man, purely for his money.

Mrs. Rivalli softly smiled and placed her hand on his cheek, gazing into his emerald green eyes, which were as mysterious as a forest. "I love you." she said softly. "I love you more." He gave her a sweet grin and rested his head on her hand that was gently placed on his cheek.

"We should be ready."

"You're right. We've already lost much too much time."

She assisted him in adjusting and repairing his outfit, snickering to herself as she did so. He wondered aloud, "What's so funny?"

"Ohh nothing, it just reminded me of when we were younger and I used to avoid you like the plague." she sniffed.

"Me? "How dare you," he said theatrically and sarcastically, "I always believed you loved me." The woman snickered at him "Oh no, you were insanely annoying." He gazed at her with such love in his eyes, as if he had just seen her for the first time in his father's workshop, when neither of them had the courage to speak to each other properly. "And you're still the same scoundrel you were twenty years ago." She blushed as she proceeded to tease him, "Oh, stop it—"

"Hold on, dear, what time is it?" Mr. Rivalli paused in his suit-fixing and squinted his eyes, attempting to see the clock, but he was nearsighted and couldn't see the time without his glasses, since he refused wearing them, thinking he looks hideous with them.

"It's twenty to 1pm"

"We have to go" he grumbled as he frantically tried to straighten his thick brown curly hair.

Mr. Rivalli sobbed again as they walked out of their room, unable to believe that his little girl is getting married today; it seemed like only yesterday that they were in the forest, and Marina would climb the trees, and he'd continuously fret trying to grab her without injuring her. His wife observed him crying and put her arm around his back, assuring him that everything will be fine. He wiped the tears from his eyes and cleared his throat, adding, "I'll go get her, just wait for me in the living room." She nodded and proceeded to the living room, where she awaited his and Marina's arrival. Mr. Rivalli knocked on Marina's bedroom door as she walked away.

"Mari, do you mind if I come in?" He inquired as he leaned against the doors.

There was no reaction. He attempted to open the doors, but they were shut. He was perplexed and couldn't understand why she would lock herself up. He kept trying to open the door violently and demanding her to open the darn doors immediately in a serious tone. There was no reaction this time. He dashed to a stool on which sat a ceramic plate containing keys to every bedroom, closet, and etc... The man grabbed the keys of her bedroom in a hurry, thinking of the worst possibilities. "I'm going to count to three, if you don't open the doors right now, I'm coming in, and you better start praying." Her father said in a severe tone.
And, once again, there has been no reaction. He eventually became enraged and began unlocking the doors. He smelled something strange and nasty as he walked in. A body laying on the ground, surrounded by a large puddle of blood, as he glanced down. He began to breathe heavily and placed his palm on his chest, almost fainting out, as he tried to catch his breath. He kept his balance by leaning against the wall.

"Marina!" He yelled so loudly that the entire house could hear him, and his voice echoed throughout the halls.
Mrs. Rivalli sprung from her couch, startled by her husband's yell. She began sprinting towards him, and along the way, she noticed a swarm of crimson foot steps in the corridor. As soon as she entered Marina's room, her husband seized her and demanded to know where his daughter was in a menacing tone. As she witnessed the awful picture in the room, she exclaimed, "What in the name of God happened— Oh my good God! W—who was it that did this. And, more importantly, where is our daughter?—"

"I was hoping you'd know. I keep thinking only of the worst that she has been kidnapped. Because the window is open wide, her room looks as if she was fighting back and her animals aren't in the room." He commented as he looked down at the bloody scissors. His wife burst into tears and cried on her husband's shoulder, blaming him for not being cautious enough. Mr. Rivalli felt terrible, and because he didn't want the same event to happen again, he began to have deja vu, as if everything had happened before... He clutched his wife tightly and attempted to reassure her with a calm voice that they'd find her. He went to take a few steps outside of the room, checking if there was anything unusual, and just as he did, he look down to his left and spotted blood all throughout the hallway.
As he looked down, he wasn't the most certain if they were Marina's. But judging by it, he just prayed to God that it wasn't what he was thinking. Mrs. Rivalli knelt next to Matias and placed her fingers on his neck, attempting to check his pulse. Her two oldest brothers were surgeons and she was quite familiar with the medical field because of it. But she could tell he was dead a long time ago by his pale lips.

In the meantime, Marina hid behind the curtains near the front doors. Hearing her father yell so loudly terrified her. And she was even more scared of being discovered. She began to cry silently and glanced down at the floor as tears streamed down her face. She noticed a red stain on the ground, she was confused because everything was fuzzy at the time and brushed her tears away. When the girl realized the blood was coming from her heels, she gasped and peered out from behind the curtains, turning pale as she saw blood everywhere. Then harsh footsteps sound began to get louder and louder, and sound of the wooden floors cracking could be heard too. she figured that it's either her parents or someone else from her family.

Marina kicked off her shoes, took a big breath, and ran as she'd never run before for her life. As soon as she opened the doors a loud familiar voice was heard
"Marina!—"
The girl turned around, in fright and shame looking at her parents. They were pale, and confused to what she was doing. She looked at them as if she was about to tear up any second. Her parents just stood by the staircases not knowing how to react, until her mother spoke up. "Sweetheart ...please...What is happening?—" While staring at her as if she were the murderer, her mother felt a piece of apple lodged in her throat.

"I'm sorry. You wouldn't understand."

She started running towards the city, but kept changing directions in case anyone follows her, got ahead of her and couldn't tell which way she was heading. Her parents shouted as loud as possible for her to stop this mess, but they got no reply or reaction from her. Because of aging, they weren't able to go after by legs, and Mr. Rivalli grabbed his wife's hand and rushed towards their carriage.

"Darn, where do I go now!?" she said while petrified, not knowing where to go now. Her heart was racing and she was pumped up with adrenaline. She noticed an older gentleman with a carriage and a horse close. Marina dashed up to him and yelled as loudly as she could, "Stop the carriage!" As soon as he heard her yell, the man came to a complete halt. He was irritated since he was going to leave for home.

He exclaimed, "What do you want, young girl?" Marina hurriedly took out her bag that was tied up around her torso, containing valuable jewelry and showed him diamond earrings in exchange for a quick ride into the city. The old man didn't hesitate to tell her to come in as soon as he saw her offering. She sat next to him, tapped him on the shoulder and pleaded with him to get the horse moving as quickly as possible.
The tired looking man wanted to get noisy and question her if she ran away from her wedding, by the looks of her gown "I don't have time to chat." she exclaimed, as adrenaline was still coursing through her veins. They soon arrived in the center of Naples. Fortunately, her parents were nowhere in sight. Marina alighted from the carriage and started mumbling to herself of how annoying the old man was. He waved goodbye to her as he removed his tattered black hat.

When the young lady began walking quickly towards the city's center, the inhabitants became perplexed and intrigued, asking themselves, "What is a young lady wearing an overdetailed and rich-looking bridal gown doing here, shouldn't she be getting married now?" Meanwhile, her parents arrived in the city and began asking residents whether they had seen a young bride anywhere, to which they responded with a point or a denial, as they had no idea where she was.

Marina became fatigued while running, gulped, and desired to sit for only fifty seconds. But she couldn't, and if she did, it would be the last of her. She continued rushing to her escape and then, Dead End. She came in the marine. The girl felt liberated for a little moment, seeing the sea so bright and sparkling that day, smelling the wind and salt in the air, and it all felt so...calming. However, on the other hand, she began to panic and looked around her; there was a large crowd in the marine, as a large number of goods had arrived that day from England, Spain, South America, China, and other countries.
