When celes woke up, the wooden ceiling of the academy’s infirmary was the first thing came to view while the light of the setting sun crept through the window, turning everything into neon color.
Looking around, there’s no one in the room other than her. She slipped herself up but never thought of getting up in the bed. Instead, she crunched down, embracing herself tightly. She was cold deep inside that makes her heart rather trembled than her body. She wasn’t suffering from a memory lost she remember everything, everything that had happened.
When the light of the altar lit up even more than before, thunderous sounds and even lighting rummaged the place, celes consciousness slip through the darkness, bidding its farewell to the reality she failed to pass the test and summon her own servant in other words.
Celes embraced herself tightly a little to sobbing. She just want to disappear now. She was good as dead already as well. Tears after tears stream out from the corner of her eyes, tracing her porcelain cheeks, but when the sliding door of the infirmary slides to open, she hurriedly wipes those tears off. Even so, it was undeniable that both her eyes were slightly red.
It was Lisa, the one who came to and who when she saw celes was already awake brighten up in sheer joy yet later on snapped into confusing sadness.
“celes…” celes smile on her in returned.
“what time it is already?” she asks.
“It seems like I took a long nap.” she wasn’t just alright.
A couple of seconds have beat first before Lisa responded with a “it’s already five in the afternoon nearing six but, yes, you really did take a very long nap.” the exchange was very simple yet still made the two giggle with each other.
