Chapter 2 – We real cool

Meliora hearts high. A prestigious school for selected few, Guds Vilje and Les élus (People with certain powers and abilities who confront Dona and who manages world balance.)

Dona, Guds Vilje and Les élus – Dona are unknown begins from an alternate dimension leaked into the world. Guds Vilje are chosen people who can exclusively see and confront Dona (Guds Vilje started to appear only 2 centuries ago). Les élus are powered people who can’t see Dona (Although les élus are normal people they have exception: their system of function is completely different, they rely on a complete different type of power which makes them unable to perceive Dona unlike normal human who can see them when confronted).

Naturally Guds Vilje are superior to Dona while inferior to les élus and les élus are superior to Guds Vilje while inferior to Dona.

Kai, Aiden, Lunar Gerwyn and Kai’s stepsister- Nagisa Kitagawa are the first years who attend Meliora hearts high in hopes of becoming the protector of the world by cleansing these Donas.

Just as on a usual day on the campus. Aiden, Kai, Lunar and Nagisa are seated waiting for professor to show up.

“…..Arhh….it’s taking forever” spouted in a loud voice, Aiden.

“Aren’t you even a bit nervous about the exams, Kai?”

“Exams? It’s not an exam, it’s umm… more like a test, practice? Umm, yeh…”

“I won’t be taking exams.” said Kai letting out a little sigh. “I nor lunar.”

“….Ahhh…!” went Aiden as if he realized something.

While waiting for professor to arrive Kai and Aiden were mumbling in a soft voice, Lunar kept taking glances at Kai for every other minutes while Nagisa was occupied with her thoughts. After 10 minutes professor walked into the class.

“Good Morning, class”

“I prefer to make this announcement before we make to our venue: Kai and Lunar won’t be taking part in this test…, tournament? ummm… Examination~?.”

Up until now silent Nagisa who was pre occupied to her thoughts asked, “What, Why?”

“Well, Miss Gerwyn is a les élus and also her powers aren’t combat suited”

“Then why Nii—um… Kai? ~”

“Kai, umm… Kai is a bit different, he is a mix between les élus and Guds Vilje, and hence he can’t clearly see a Dona, he won’t be taking part.” Noted professor.

“Fufu…. She was about to call you onii-chan” joked Aiden with a smirk on his face.

“Hmm…nii-chan, huh? ~”

“Come on, let’s go class” Hurried professor

Lunar nodded yes in agreement while Nagisa answered with a blunt “yes”.

“Yeah, let’s go onii chan.” Aiden once again mocked Nagisa by addressing Kai as Nii-Chan.

“This is what you were about to say yesterday at dinner?” Asked Nagisa in a soft voice only Kai could hear once they gather as a group.

“Yep”

Professor grabbed the empty space in front of him as if he were holding on to a curtain. He pulled his arm diagonally. The space tore up creating a huge empty void in front of them.  

“Shall we begin?”
