The Survival of an Inferior

4. Dungeon Hell(2)

4. Dungeon Hell(2)

May 04, 2023

The goblin jumps in, darting everywhere from the ground to the wall. I predict its attack and deflect it.

*CHING!*

A crack appears on my dagger.

Tch.

I manage to kick the goblin away and dive for the second goblin, taking its enchanted dagger.

Additionally, I grab hold of the second goblin's corpse and use it as a shield.

!!

The goblin hesitates to stab its kind and I throw the knife at it. The dagger zooms through and cuts the goblin's head but the wound isn't deep enough.

While the goblin recovers, I run to the narrow pathway in between two huts.
The goblin gives chase and stops outside.

Sweat drips down my chin as I try to put on a smirk.
"Huff huff...what's wrong...huff...?" I taunt.

...

Goblins are usually underestimated due to their small physique and they know that. Thus, they make up for it by having incredible dexterity.

However, in this confined path, he can only go one direction: Forward. This makes its attack extremely easy to predict no matter how fast it is.

*thump thump thump*

The beating of my heart fills the awkward silence. The goblin sees my state and smiles. "kekekeke..."

He jumps up and dives down at me, to which I react by lifting my "meat" shield.

Nevertheless, the goblin changes its trajectory mid-air and swiftly drops behind me, going in for an attack.

!

*Ching*

Unexpectedly, my right arm was already holding my dagger behind, preparing for that ambush and parrying the knife out of the goblin's hand.

I then drop my weapon and grabs the goblin by its neck. "I got you now, bastard!" I exclaim.

I bash its head into the walls of the hut repeatedly until its body goes limp.

Damn...they had 6 times more levels than me but all I get is 1000 exp...what a stingy game...

There is no way I can fight all the monsters if I'm only exhausted after two. I need a better method...

...

Ah!

Looking at the corpses gives me an idea.

I've never tried this method before but...it's worth a shot.

Within the huts, there are many materials such as ropes, wires and broken machinery.
================================
The goblins noticed that the previous duo had not returned for their patrol and went to check. Otherwise, they would report this to the higher-ups and the entire dungeon would be aware of an intruder possibility.

Five goblins walk to the big plaza and look around. One goblin notices two goblin bodies inside a hut laying down.

He alerts the rest and two goblins went ahead to check the bodies.

As the two walk closer, they walk across a thin wire.

*CLICK!*

A log of wood swings from the ceiling clashing against the goblins' heads and killing them.

!!!

At the same time, spears of wood barrage the remaining three surprised goblins from a hut, killing one of them.

I finish my attack by throwing two rusty daggers at the nape of the two goblins.

"Huff huff..."

Alright...I have about 7 goblins' corpses.

Each goblin has a small pouch with them, carrying some water, green bread crumbs(?) and some miscellaneous items.

One of them has a small glass vial.

I dismember one corpse, cutting the fat of the meat into the vial. Afterwards, I add some water and take a bright azure flower out of my pouch.

Tears appear in my eyes as I stare at the flower in pity.
I found this rare flower while finding water on the mountain called the Blue Beauty. It is famous for its healing properties, beautiful appearance and soothing aroma.
Such a pity that I have to use it for this.

I tear two of the flower's petals and place them into the vial. The petal dissolves within the water and the vial glows, melting the meat.

Congratulations! The potion was successfully brewed!

I instantly gulp the potion.

!!

The potion disperses and releases waves of energy within my body. I grasp my chest and rest on the ground.

*CREAK! CRACK!*

!!!!!!

"ARGHH!!" I unintentionally cried out.

My bones!! It is moving?! The potion is reforming my physique!!

From my legs to my head, every vein erects from the extreme energy. Since I haven't formed any energy cores, the energy rapidly caroms around my body.

In the end, all the energy is used to reconstruct my physique.

I smile when I see the panel.

"Phew...my next destination is..." I mumble and look up.

A wall separates the outer village and some tall buildings.

I get up and attempt to clear evidence. Afterwards, I carry the corpses and head for the wall.
The village is swarmed with goblins thus it took me quite a long time.
=================================
There exists a hierarchy within the dungeon. The King, also the boss of the dungeon, is at the top.
Descending the hierarchy are demons, trolls, orcs, and goblins.

Each species occupy a part of the ancient city and have a leader.

For many years, the orcs were separated from the goblins using a wall due to one conflict: There is an inferiority complex between the two leaders.

And today, the leader of the orcs confronts the leader of the goblins because of an orc's death, suspecting goblins to be the culprit.
