Jessica tried to stand up, but her legs felt weak and unsteady. She stumbled forward and nearly fell, catching herself just in time.

She looked around, trying to get her bearings. The beach was gone, replaced by the dimly lit hallway of the temple. The orb was still in her hand, but it no longer glowed. It seemed to have lost its power.

Jessica realized that the whole escape had been an illusion, created by the orb. Her friends were still trapped on the island, and she needed to find them before it was too late.

She started walking down the hallway, searching for any signs of her friends. The whispers had returned, but they were no longer soft and comforting. They were urgent and frantic, as if warning her of imminent danger.

As Jessica turned a corner, she saw a figure in the distance. It was too far to make out any details, but she could tell that it was a person.

She picked up her pace and ran towards the figure, her heart pounding in her chest. As she got closer, she realized that it was Nick, slumped against the wall and looking weak.

JESSICA: (Breathless) Nick! Oh, thank god. What happened? Are you okay?

NICK: (Weakly) Jessica...the orb...it did something to me. I don't know what's happening.

Jessica could see that Nick was pale and sweating. He looked like he was in a lot of pain.

JESSICA: (Urgently) We need to find Sarah and Alex. Do you know where they are?

NICK: (Shaking his head) I don't know. I've been wandering around this temple for what feels like hours. I can't find them.

Jessica felt a sense of dread wash over her. If Nick couldn't find them, then they could be anywhere.

JESSICA: (Determined) We have to keep looking. We have to find them before it's too late.

Nick nodded weakly, and the two of them continued down the hallway. The whispers grew louder, and Jessica felt a sense of urgency building inside her.

She didn't know what was going to happen next, but she knew that she had to find her friends and get off this island before it was too late.
