Memory of a Dream

Chapter 7 - Celestial Academy

Chapter 7 - Celestial Academy

May 08, 2023

Yoojin's unease grew as he thought about the invasion of his personal space. The idea of someone stealing his belongings made him feel violated and vulnerable. He realized that Blue's strange behavior earlier was due to sensing the presence of a stranger in the house.

Yoojin's mind raced with questions, and the fear of his grandmother being harmed made his heart race. He took a deep breath to calm himself down and think logically. He was grateful that Calisto's powers had saved his laptop and tablet from being stolen; otherwise, he would have lost all his work and personal information.

After packing his belongings and Blue's, Yoojin double-checked that he had everything he needed and made sure the window was closed. Sitting on his bed, he felt lost and unsure of what to do next. He hadn't told his grandmother that he had spent the night outside, and he was sure he had locked the door when he left with Calisto the day before.

Feeling overwhelmed, Yoojin sought help from Professor Nakajima. He grabbed a piece of paper and a pen and headed back to the living room, where his grandmother and the deputy were waiting for him. Yoojin wrote 'help' on the paper and discreetly showed it to the deputy, hoping to draw his attention without his grandmother noticing. To his relief, the deputy understood.

Yoojin quickly climbed the stairs and waited anxiously outside his room, unsure of what would happen next. He heard voices and footsteps before the deputy arrived. Yoojin let the professor enter his room first before following him and closing the door behind him. The deputy's expression turned serious as he noticed the look on Yoojin's face.

"Is everything alright, Mr. Delaney?" he asked.

Yoojin shook his head. "No, someone broke into my room and stole some of my things."

The deputy nodded, his demeanor becoming even more serious as he took out what looked like a small tablet from his pocket. "Could you tell me if you noticed if anything was forced?" he asked.

Yoojin felt relieved that he had someone who could help him. He knew he would be safe at Celestial Academy, but the thought of someone invading his personal space made him uneasy.

"I checked the windows of my room, but they didn't appear to be broken. And when we entered the house, the door wasn't forced." Yoojin explained.

The deputy nodded, taking notes on his tablet before doing something that looked likehe was filming the room. Suddenly, a hologram of Yoojin's house appeared in the air. "Someone has indeed broken into your room, and there are no physical signs of forced entry. It appears that they used their powers to enter your room through this window." Professor Nakajima explained, zooming in on Yoojin's room and pointing at the window highlighted in red. He also pointed out that the door of the room had magical residue.

The deputy went to examine the door. "I see that there are two types of magical residue, including one from Mr. de Navarra. He probably had a feeling that something would happen and protected your house, but he may not have warded your window to detect the intruder's powers. I will take a sample to analyse." he explained.

Feeling overwhelmed, Yoojin sat down on his bed and realized that he could have been kidnapped if he hadn't ended up on the wrong train. The thought made him feel sick to his stomach.

"I'm glad we caught this early." the deputy said, placing a reassuring hand on Yoojin's shoulder. "We'll do everything we can to ensure your safety and find out who did this."

Yoojin nodded, feeling grateful for the support. He knew he needed to stay strong and not let fear consume him.

"Don't worry," the deputy reassured Yoojin. "You're under the protection of the Academy. Everything will be alright. I've taken all the samples I needed, and you can check to make sure you've packed everything before coming down. If you forget anything, you can buy it on the island or order it." With that, the deputy left the room.

Yoojin mentally checked that he had everything he needed before leaving his room. As he looked around, he felt a sense of nostalgia and sadness wash over him. He had lived in this room for as long as he could remember, but now it was time to move on. Unfortunately, his happy memories were now tainted by the intrusion.

He was leaving behind everything he knew, but he was also embarking on a new adventure. Yoojin took a deep breath and reminded himself that he wanted to be alone and that he had the support of his childhood friend and his new friends.

With a final glance around his room, Yoojin picked up Blue's carrier and headed downstairs.

"Are you ready to go, Yoojin?" his grandmother asked, noticing him coming down the stairs.

Yoojin nodded, trying to put on a brave face.

"It's a pity that your school is so far away, and I have to go to the airport early tomorrow morning for my business trip. If not, I would have accompanied you." Yoojin's grandmother said as they said their goodbyes. Yoojin hugged her tightly, feeling grateful for everything she had done for him and for raising him instead of his parents.

As they left the house, Yoojin noticed something out of the corner of his eye. "Professor, I think we're being observed." he muttered, feeling a sense of unease.

The deputy turned around. "Don't worry, with me here, you're protected." he reassured Yoojin. They quickly made their way back to the central station using a portal.

When they returned, Yoojin saw that everyone was waiting for them. Jaein, Calisto, and Lucas were huddled together, speaking quietly, while the headmistress and Professor Fiordivita were poring over a dossier.

"Welcome back." the headmistress said. "I hope everything went well, and that you have packed everything that you need." Yoojin nodded, feeling relieved to be back with his friends.

"We will be leaving shortly. Please gather your belongings." she said, leading the way out of the meeting room. The deputy tapped Yoojin's luggage three times and muttered something. Suddenly, it sparkled and disappeared.

As they walked, Calisto approached him and asked if everything had gone alright.

"Not really, but I'll tell you later in detail," Yoojin replied, feeling grateful for Calisto's concern.

They took the elevator and made their way to the entrance of the port.

Yoojin was excited to be taking a boat for the first time. The boat was spacious, with comfortable seats and a large deck where they could enjoy the view.

During the journey, they enjoyed a delicious lunch that included sandwiches, fruit, and pastries. Yoojin was impressed by the variety and quality of the food. After lunch, they played board games and Yoojin enjoyed getting to know his new friends better.

As the sun began to set, they settled in to watch a movie on the boat's large screen while sipping hot chocolate. After the movie ended, they enjoyed a delicious dinner of grilled seafood, rice, and vegetables.

After several hours, they finally arrived at their destination. Yoojin was taken aback by the mild weather, which was a stark contrast to the cold temperatures back home. As they disembarked, Yoojin noticed torches lighting the pontoon since it was already dark outside.

"Welcome to Elysium Island." the headmistress said with a smile. "This is where Celestial Academy is located and where you will be studying from now on. Now, we'll go to your dormitory."

Yoojin couldn't believe his eyes as he gazed upon the island's beauty. The lush greenery and crystal-clear waters reflecting the stars and moon made him feel like he was in paradise.

As they arrived at the campus, Yoojin was struck by its grandeur and beauty. The sprawling campus had towering buildings and lush gardens, all in the Greek style. Many people were walking around and Yoojin felt a sense of excitement and anticipation.

They followed a sign that indicated the direction towards the dormitories and arrived at a square. Yoojin saw a simple but beautiful fountain in the center. The three buildings around it were pastel-colored and each had a unique emblem on top of the main door.

On the left side, there was a red building with an emblem featuring the symbol 'α'. In the center, a blue building had an emblem with the symbol 'β'. Finally, on the right side, a green building had an emblem with the symbol 'Ω', which was the one they stood in front of.

"Here we are. Only omegas are allowed to enter this building, but there are exceptions for family or betrothed individuals. The power infused in the building can recognize if someone entering has malicious intentions towards omegas and can block their entrance. If they are already inside, a staff member will be notified. For the dormitories of the alpha students, there are similar restrictions, for different reasons, and the beta students' dormitory has no restrictions, but no one can be forced inside." the headmistress explained.

Just then, a tall woman arrived. She had wavy dark hair that fell just past her shoulders, beautiful chocolate skin, and amber-colored eyes. She had a kind smile and exuded a maternal presence. She handed some files to Professor Nakajima.

"This is Mrs. Lucinda Fiordivita, the school's secretary, and Professor Fiordivita's wife. I will now leave you with Professor Nakajima. I will see you during the opening ceremony on Monday morning. Have a nice evening," the headmistress said before leaving with the secretary.

"I will also head to my dormitory. See you all tomorrow at breakfast. Good night, everyone." Lucas said before walking towards the dormitories for the beta students.

Yoojin watched as Lucas walked away before they entered the building. The interior of the common room was decorated in the Scandinavian style, with pastel green, beige, and grey tones, and strategically placed plants to soak up the sunlight from the large windows. The decoration gave a feeling of warmth, cosiness, and simplicity.

"Welcome to the Omegas dormitory! I know that living on campus can be a big adjustment, but I'm here to help you get settled in and answer any questions you might have." the deputy said with a warm smile.

"Mr. Delaney will share his room with Mr. de Navarra, and for the moment, Ms. Kwon, you will not be sharing a room with anyone, but that could change."

Yoojin felt a sense of relief that he wouldn't have to share a room with a stranger.

The deputy handed a file to Yoojin, Calisto, and Jaein before continuing. "Inside these files, you will find some forms that you need to fill out. You can also find a student handbook that will give you information about the school's policies, procedures, and expectations, your school ID, which you will need to access various facilities and services on campus, and a key card for your room."

"During the first week, you will not have lessons, but there will be some activities that you need to participate in. Moreover, you will find your personal tablets in your rooms. You will find apps that will give you information about the academy, where you can consult your schedule for the first week, and later you will find the definitive schedule. There is also an app that can help you navigate the campus and the island." he finished.

Yoojin listened attentively. He couldn't wait to explore the academy and learn more about his powers.

As he was looking through the files, the door opened, and he saw a girl and a guy walking in. They both looked friendly.

"Ah, you arrived just in time to meet the new students." the deputy said to the newcomers before addressing Yoojin and his friends. "So, they are the omega delegates, Javier Martinez and Amara Singh. If you have any problems during the school year, you can come to them. If it's something more serious or if you feel like you can't speak about it to them, you can speak to me since I'm the omega's advisor. I also live here with my mate, who is also a professor here. Our quarters are near the notice board," the deputy finished, indicating a door.

"I will leave you three with your delegates. Yoojin, tomorrow morning after breakfast, come to my quarters. I will give you a quick lesson on Olympians, our history, and our biology. Have a nice evening, and see you tomorrow." Professor Nakajima finished before heading to his quarters.

"Hello, I'm Jaein and these are my friends Calisto and Yoojin. Nice to meet you." Jaein said cheerfully, introducing them. Calisto only nodded, his face impassive, and Yoojin was trying to smile, but his shoulders were visibly tense and he he was probably grimacing.

Javier and Amara smiled warmly and introduced themselves. They seemed friendly and approachable and Yoojin felt a sense of relief that he had someone to turn to if he needed help. "This is the common room. Here is a lounge area and a small kitchenette. On this side, there is a study area with office supplies. The stairs on the left side lead to the male dormitory, and on the other side is the female dormitory," Amara finished. "Our rooms are on the first floor, near the stairs. If you need anything, you can come find us. We will see you again tomorrow morning. Have a nice evening," Javier finished. The delegates separated, and Yoojin, Calisto, and Jaein made their way up to their room on the second floor, feeling a mix of excitement and nervousness. This was their new home, and they would be sharing it with each other. However, it was also a new environment that they were not familiar with.

"Should we meet here at 8 o'clock so we can go to breakfast together?" Jaein suggested.

Yoojin and Calisto looked at each other. "I think I would like that. What do you think?" Calisto said, looking at Yoojin, who nodded, smiling shyly.

After agreeing, they parted ways. Yoojin and Calisto made their way up to their room on the second floor, feeling a mix of excitement and nervousness. This was their new home, and they would be sharing it with each other.

As they opened the door to their room, Yoojin couldn't help but feel a sense of awe. The room was rather spacious, practical and basic, in the same style as the common room, but it had everything they would need, including a library where they could store their books. There was also a door leading to a beautiful bathroom with a bathtub.

"I think it's a little late to unpack our belongings. We should do it tomorrow morning." Calisto said, looking at their luggages.

Yoojin nodded. "Would you like to come with me for a short walk around?" he asked his friend. He was a little scared of going out alone at night, but since he saw that there were still many students outside, he was a little reassured.

"Not really. I want to play with my switch. Don't forget to take your tablet in case you get lost." Calisto said, handing him the tablet.

Yoojin left the dormitory and began to walk around until he arrived in the courtyard of a building. He looked at his tablet and saw that he was at the student center. Lost in thought, he continued to walk along the portico when he suddenly bumped into someone.
