Ugh, what's going on? My back... how long was unconscious? Wait, was that a bird? I can hear wings flapping and... footsteps? Have the people from town come to rescue me? Please help me!

Sasha woke up and found herself face to face with a large, dark red lizard sniffing her. Startled, she screamed and the lizard quickly scurried under the bed, like a frightened cat. Sasha tried to get up but a soft, delicate hand laid on her shoulder. Sasha turned to face the owner of the hand, a woman, a young lady with long blond, almost white hair, skin as light as snow, and wide ethereal blue eyes. But, still, her most distinguishing trait was definitely her dove-like wings.
- -Greetings dear, I heard you scream just a moment ago, is everything alright? asked the woman with her calm, reassuring voice.
Sasha stayed silent. The girl was perplexed. After all, she found herself in an unfamiliar place with an unknown species of lizard and a woman with feathery wings???
- -Oh, poor thing, she whispered with a compassionate tone. I found you in a dark and cold cave all alone, you must be so frightened! Let me introduce myself; I am Lysandra and I happen to be what we call an angel. The small animal that startled you, and that you scared away, is a dragon, a baby dragon. He was the one who led me to you, which is quite odd considering that dragons don't really like to come out of their shelter and interact with people... Anyways! What's your name, darling?
- -Sasha..., she answered warily.
- -Just Sasha? That's quite a short name, noticed Lysandra. Don't you have a last name?
- -...No, lied the girl
- -Alright. Sasha, it is! Well, first of all, this is my humble home and I will let you stay as long as you need, reassured the angel with open, welcoming arms. By your appearance, I guessed that you were human. I have absolutely no clue how you ended up in Egea though. So, obviously, there's no way out of here, from what we know.
The impact of those words on Sasha was intense as if she had been punched in the stomach. Lysandra quickly comforted the little girl, who was clearly upset and in disbelief.
- -I apologize for my careless words earlier. Please forgive me. You are incredibly brave. Would you mind telling me what happened? I assure you that everything will be alright, comforted the angel.
- -Well... I went out at night to go to the forest, but then as saw two monsters! They were chasing after me! And then, I fell and... that's all I can recall, told Sasha while digging as far as she could in her memory.
- -Monsters? What do you mean? asked the angel.
- -Oh no, you probably believe I am crazy now, said the girl while hiding under the covers.
- -No no, not at all my dear! reassured the angel, taking the sheets off Sasha's head, revealing her worried turquoise eyes and messy dark auburn hair. Please, explain yourself. I promise I won't judge.
- -Well... you see... they were guards, but then, they... changed. Their eyes were dark as night, and their skin was peeling off! Described The young girl with disgust.
Lysandra's facial expression quickly shifted to one of seriousness as she appeared lost in thought. After a moment, she let out a sigh and smiled. Even though the angel looked so young, she somehow radiated a mother's warm, considerate, comforting energy.
- -I understand, don't worry at all, Lysandra reassured Sasha with a gentle voice. Excuse me, I have some business to attend to. Also, just so you know, the dragon under the bed is harmless, she added with a wink.
The angel left the bedroom and Sasha finally had a moment to analyze the room she was in. The walls were a very light beige and were absolutely covered in plants. Bird-shaped Vines, potted curly spider plants, multicoloured urchin-looking flowers, succulents and cacti in tons of different shapes, everything you can think of. There were shelves full of old books and a fair amount of fantastical landscape paintings near the window. The only pieces of furniture in the room were the beautiful white wooden bed Sasha was laying on and the desk next to it. The girl assumed that it was already pretty late because, looking out the window, she could only see darkness. The chandelier on the ceiling and the oil lamp on the nightstand were the only things keeping the room bright. She didn't have a chandelier back at her home. They were too poor. They did own an oil lamp though. The baby dragon suddenly came out of under the bed and startled Sasha again. The young girl tried to calm her racing heart while convincing herself that it was harmless. Only a baby. At that moment, the small creature cautiously approached Sasha. The dragon sniffed her fingers and then licked them with its rough, split tongue.
- -Ah! it tickles! giggled the young girl.
Sasha's sudden loud laughter scared the small reptile, causing it to back away.
- -Don't be scared, little guy! told Sasha, imitating Lysandra's reassuring voice.
The girl opened her arms wide and greeted the baby dragon with a warm smile. The dragon, which was about the size of a big puppy, climbed onto her shoulders with ease and wrapped itself around her neck like a scarf.
- -Not only are you the same colour as flames, but you are also very warm, she noticed. It's amusing.
The reptile responded with a tiny squeal and dozed off. Sasha did the same as him, then they fell asleep together.
