*military base, area 11...
"I heard you almost got killed when you were heading back to your house, 1st Lt. Harrison."
I look at my subordinate whose mocking me since I almost got caught by those bastards who tried to kill me. I never taught that those rumors were true since they never mentioned it.
"As you can see, I'm still alive and kicking!", I said as I kicked him away from me since I'm pissed off that I didn't get to hug my son before I left. "I didn't even get any injuries or wounds from that incident, let alone scratches to boot", I said as I walked out from the barracks, everyone who saw me stepped aside quickly.
I was given that mission when I received a letter about that damn research. I never thought I would get into a much darker side of it, not until I have those two. Ever since that day, I can't get myself out of that place because of them.
"My two stars... I hope you can find a way to get out of there...", I said as I looked up at the starry night and closed my eyes to remember my time with them.
"Lieutenant Harrison! The generals are requesting to see you, ma'am", 2nd Lieutenant Sanchez said that made me get some chills thinking about what would they want from me.
I just run to go there since it sounded like an urgent matter. But I got a feeling that it was something more than expect it would be.
*military command center...
"Why did no one notice some hacker suddenly got through to our system?! Find out if they took some confidential files from us!!!"
"General Clarkson, 1st Lieutenant Harrison have arrived", Sanchez said as we salute at the general and saluted back at us.
"Do you anyone who would do this, 1st Lt. Harrison?", The general asks as he handed me a tablet with confidential files from that research facility.
"These files are the same files that I've given as my years of a report from that research facility", I said while reading some of the other files that are much more confidential than what I gave.
"Some hacker left it to us which made us all go into panic since our security system didn't detect it earlier", General Clarkson said which made him even more pissed off as the other generals are busy commanding some personnel.
As I kept on scanning through it, I got surprised as I saw who sent it which made my heart beat fast in fear.
'Stella' is the nickname I gave to my daughter when I'm still there.
"C-004...", I said as the general looked at me in surprise as he heard me calling out a name.
"You knew who sent these files, lieutenant?", he asks as I smiled awkwardly as I sigh deeply.
"It's from my daughter, sir. There was a schedule for them that taught those children how to hack some systems within the facility. But those systems were dummy ones and they still got through even though it had a tight security system", I explained as I clenched my fist hard in fear that they were doing something dangerous now.
"How could they do that to those children?! What are they planning to do with them?!", the general shouted in anger which made me jolt in surprise to see him getting this angry.
"I don't know what they wanted to do with them, sir. But those children didn't know anything about what's the real meaning of their existence", I said as I closed my eyes trying to pick up my courage to save them all from that place. "Please, sir... Let us rescue those children and have them under our supervision instead. They would be a great asset to us if they will get trained under us", I suggested, hoping for them to accept my proposal.
"Them? We don't even know if they can be a great asset or a threat to us", General Clarkson said as another general raised his hand.
"I suggest we should try it, Clarkson. After all, those kids got through to our system without getting detected. We might as well have them for our benefits", General Davis said that made my hopes up after hearing him agree to me.
"We don't know if they will listen to us", General Clarkson said while doubting those kids' intentions.
"There's one child who can make them listen and follow him, sir", I said while betting all my courage on my son about his leadership.
"And who will that be?", General Davis asks in curiosity that made the other generals look at me.
"I got twins inside of that facility, one of them is considered to be a potential leader for their group. He is leading the older kids right now if my guess is correct. And it may be also that he told his twin sister to send those files here, hoping to be rescued from that facility", I explained as some of the generals started to whisper at each other about it.
"And I would hate that idea, mom. Plus I still remember what you did to me that day."
Everyone inside the command center suddenly looks in front of us as the monitor flashes a cute rabbit design logo. But what got me surprise was the voice of Ezekiel coming from it.
"So you are safe, Do-- I mean mom. I'm still not used to it..."
"C-001! What the hell are you thinking?!", I shouted which made everyone look at me but I don't care since that son of mine is reckless right now. "You're making yourself and the other children's lives in danger, especially your sister's!"
"I'm not planning to get them in danger, mom. If that happens, I'll try to buy them some time to escape. I just wanted to get out of here before they turn us into a killing machine", C-001 said like he is confident enough to make it happen.
"I'm doing my best to get you all out of there... But why the hell are you doing something dangerous?!", I said without thinking that I'm still at the command center as I hear him laughing.
"I know that's why we're doing our best to retrieve some evidence of their wrongdoings. And I know what will be the consequence of my actions, that's why I planned all of it little by little, mom."
"You're insane, kiddo. You had some guts to do that", I said while smiling in disbelief hearing him saying those things.
"Well, I guess I'm like you then, mom. Coming here as a psychiatric doctor into an enemy base and getting yourself to give birth to us. But I'm still glad that I'm not a psychopath, just like that idiot C-000", he said which made me laugh since they're still on each other's nerves.
"Please, stay put now before they notice that you're doing something that will put you all in danger", I said still worried about them as their mother.
"We will be, after this one file I'm trying to find and send it over there", he said as one of the personnel here start to open the file that just arrived and flashes some even more confidential files that no one knew about it.
"You are the most dangerous one, C-001", I said while getting creeped out by how smart this kid is.
"I learned from the best, so why not use it to drag them down to hell like they did to us? My time is up now, class is ending. I'm glad that lazy ass doctor didn't arrive yet", he said which made me feel relief that they're still safe. "I hope we will be together soon, mom. We're not like the ordinary kids, but we might as well act like one, right?"
"You kids are not even safe to go around when you're skills are far more dangerous than any hackers", General Clarkson said which made him laugh hysterically.
"You're someone---- Oh! Right! The general... We might be more than that, sir. But don't worry, we're still sane that won't do something so reckless without thinking it over."
"This kid had some guts, 1st Lt. Harrison", General Lloren said which made me laugh awkwardly.
"You might as well reconsider making use of us, but we're still kids, so you might as well supervise and train us under your command. We're far more useful, generals", C-001 said as the transition ends.
"How well do they move to a command, lieutenant?", General Thompson asks while the other generals are waiting patiently for my response.
"They can perform much better than us they will make you fear them if you go up against them, sir", I said as the other generals started to get noisy about it.
"Get all soldiers ready for a rescue mission. We're getting those kids out of there", General Clarkson said as the other generals agreed to him.
I still can't believe that kid is related to me. But I'm glad he is so smart and more prepared than I thought he would be.
