Laying down on top of a building, far away from where the action would be, Aiko had a clear line of sight to the church. Lining herself up, she began speaking to Issei who stood on the soft ground below. "Ah man, this is gonna be an epic fight! I can't wait to see the action! There's gonna be so much blood, and Iihito is gonna kick some shiny rich boy ass!"

"That's great Miss Usagi, but what am I supposed to do? I don't know what a spotter does at all." Issei complained, scratching his head in confusion.

Tossing him a box of super powerful fly swatters, Aiko smirked. She decided to play with him a bit, if only to keep him occupied. "If you see any bugs? Swat them. Even worms need to be eradicated, since you never know if they might be listening in."

Shrugging, Issei began to swat at the flies in the area, not having much else to say, but not sure why it was necessary at all.

Raynell stretched in the morning sun and layed down in the grass, ignoring the buzzing cries of dying insects. “It’s a beautiful day out here. I think I’m going to take a nap. Shouldn’t be too bad without me.”

~~Iihito! I chose you!~~

A shadow manifested out of the church, the slow echoes of footsteps growing louder with each step. Walking out of the building appeared a man in black wearing a cross and a navy blue coat looking at Iihito and Archer.

“Well, it appears the king was correct. You have arrived. Now, is there anything I can do for you all while we wait?”

Bazett cracked her knuckles, a menacing aura beginning to form. "You can give me back Lancer to start."

Kirei shook his head with a shrug. “Unfortunately, Lancer is currently with King Gilgamesh at the moment. They are both what you might call, preoccupied.”

Bazett’s skin paled, knowing just how hard it was going to be to get him back. "...Well shit."

Hiding a smirk, Kirei looked towards the other two from the party. The servant and the descendant of a servant. “And now, what can I do with you two?”

“Uhh, I don’t know. I was only here just for lancer to be honest.” Iihito sighed. “Mind if we waited for Gilgamsh to return?”

Archer turned towards Iihito. “Iihito, are you sure that’s a good idea?”

“You are free to reside within the church until our king returns. Not the archer however, we cannot allow servants into the holy house of God.” Kirei waved his arm towards the entrance of the building.

“Eh... Nah, I like it outside.” Iihito said before materializing a bench to sit on.

“Very well.” Kirei nodded in response.

Archer lowered his weapons, sensing no signs of hostility from the false priest.

Feeling the wind rush towards her ears, the muted echoes of the engines thundering across the town. Patiently waiting for Gilgamesh to return, Iihito decided to break the silence. “So... Any hobbies?”

“As a holy man, my time has been fully dedicated to following the word of God.” Kirei rested his eyes.

“Yeah but I’ve been around other priests before, they occasionally indulge in hobbies here and there.” Iihito, starting to feel uncomfortable from the cold, materialized a coat before putting it on.

“Then they are not devout priests.” Kirei shook his head.

“I mean, alright... Sure, whatever you say.” Iihito shrugged as Kirei sat beside her on the newly materialized bench she had made.

“Do you happen to be a protestant?” Kirei asked, his voice devoid of interest and his eyes still cold.

“Catholic actually.” Iihito said, beginning to lean back on the bench. Reaching out to her phone.

“Interesting, how odd for a catholic.” Kirei nodded.

Bazett grumbled, having witnessed the entire conversation. She was incredulous at the direction this was starting to take. "What the hell…"

~~Aiko might just cry from this~~

"Are you actually shitting me!? They're just going to talk?" Aiko complained with a twitching eyebrow. "Can I just shoot the damn priest already?"

Rin shrugged, still trying to figure out which way the binoculars were supposed to work. "If they're not going to fight, then no. It's better for us if no one causes a scene anyway."

"Not even a super soaker?" Aiko asked with a petulant whine.

Issei looked up from his bug whacking in disturbed confusion. "Wait. Is it really that bad that no one's gonna fight?"

Aiko nodded at a speed often associated with a child hyped on crack before switching her gun to an LS44 Spoor in sniper mode, ready to fire at a moment's notice. "I got a visual. I can take the shot at any moment. Please give me a reason you shitty priest."

~~Locked on, take the hint Iihito.~~

Raising a finger, Iihito smiled before continuing the conversation. “And the funniest thing about inflicting suffering to others is that you could do such a thing legally. And it would be the morally acceptable thing to do so it’s not like you are sinning or anything.”

Kirei leaned in closer to the girl. “Really? Please tell me more.”

Iihito nodded. “Yeah, safety inspectors tend to cause a high amount of dread to the owners of their respective shops because every infringement on safety could potentially get their store closed. At the very least, they would be losing money for every penalty. Even better if you are not the type to get bribed by anything.”

Sitting back up straight, Kirei gave off a smile of his own. “Interesting...”

Leaning towards Iihito, Archer narrowed his eyes. “She’s ready, you know?”

Iihito raised a brow before shrugging. “Yeah, but Kirei isn’t doing anything wrong. I don’t see why she needs to shoot him.”

Giving off a sigh, Archer narrowed his eyes. Rubbing the temples on his head. “Am I really in the past?”

Noticing Archer’s behavior. Kirei’s smile widened. “I have tea stored in the office room of the church, would you three want some while we wait for the king?”

Archer winced, Bazet twitched, and Iihito nodded, much to the dismay of the two. Echoes of faint shouting reached their ears before Kirei left to grab tea, enticing a chuckle from him.

Returning to the bench, he passed a cup to Iihito. Taking a sip, her iris narrowed slightly. “Hmm, is this Stevia?”

Kirei nodded, taking a sip from his own cup. “Indeed, it’s good for the body. Significantly better than cane sugar or corn syrup.”

Bazett groaned, too busy wallowing in frustration to notice her believed enemy closing in on their position. "I can't believe this is happening right now. I knew this was a mistake."

“If that’s all you can handle, perhaps I shouldn’t give you back your servant after all.” An arrogant sounding voice boomed behind her.

Whipping around, Bazett found herself looking towards a blonde man in golden armor holding a purple haired girl in his arms towards Iihito.

The man rested his eyes. “You can relax. I am not here to start a fight.”

A faint groan echoed towards Iihito’s ears.

Walking towards Iihito, the man glanced towards her. “You there. The one in front of the girl I’m holding. Call off the one hiding behind you so I may finally put this girl down.”

Scratching her cheek, Iihito looked in Aiko’s direction. “Hey, Aiko. I don’t think I need an overwatch anymore.”

A large canister dropped in front of the party, breaking to reveal a scroll with a note on it. Opening it, Iihito paused. “Your majesty? My king? I think Aiko wants an autograph on your biography...”

“It is only natural to wish for my presence in everything one touches, even if I wasn’t the one who wrote it. Very well, you have my blessing.” Gilgamesh reached towards a golden portal that appeared out of nowhere, retracting a fountain-tipped pen before quickly signing the scroll.

Placing the purple-haired girl on the ground, Gilgamesh rested his eyes. “Good, now cure us of these curses so we may finish the so-called ‘5th grail war’.”

Blinking, Iihito stood up in surprise. “Um, ok...”

Taking a deep breath, Iihito rested her eyes and materialized a large golden blade next to her. “The island of the end, the capital of sin.”

A worm escaped the purple-haired girl, rushing away from the party in a flight of panic before light began to surround them. They then found themselves standing on a castle wall. “The final dragon is within mine breast.”

“All manner of destruction shall not reach us. Gather, guardians of the Round Table. Round of Avalon!” A circle of green spears began to form behind her, suddenly opening her eyes before white light blanketed their vision. The party returned to where they had come from.

As their vision returned to normal, Iihito found herself looking at Aiko reaching for the scroll Gilgamesh signed.

A thundering echo sounded in their ears. Turning around, Iihito’s vision was met with the curious sight of Issei looking down at a swatted oversized worm.

“Damn, Issei. Good job.” She smiled.

Aiko took advantage of their momentary distraction to stuff the scroll into her clothes so she could hide it, a false innocent expression adorning her face.

“Your attempts to hide your actions are futile, the scroll is still within my sight.” Gilgamesh deadpanned towards Aiko.

Pouting at Gilgamesh, she tried to adjust her clothes a bit more to help keep it from everyone else's eyes. "I figured you could see it. I just don't want people on the street to see it on the way back. Who knows if some pickpocket might want this, right?"

“Do what you wish, let us all head to this Caster’s residence so we may end this farce of a war already.” Gilgamesh dismissed.

Nobody tell Kirei about the suffering caused by Tax Agencies, or do so he stops being a weird fake priest.

Ever Wondered what it would be like to be thrown into another world with no context? Well, these friends don't. With the first two being long time isekai fanfic writers, and the third being the incarnation of a literal Saint, you'll find that they are quite prepared to take on any world.

... Even if the world they find themselves in, and the characters they meet are quite familiar to one of them in particular.

Watch as "The Fairy Princess" "The Fourth Floof of Humanity" and "The Saintly Medic" mess around in a world sorely underprepared for them.

Will they enjoy the world they end up in to the fullest, or will they end up destroying it out of boredom? Find out in Mercenary DXD!

*All characters and settings used are part of a parody collaboration between friends, and are not to be remotely associated with the people or characters who inspired them.*
