As night fell, she drifted off into a peaceful slumber, entering the dream world. Her consciousness roused by the sound of Yushio rummaging through cardboard boxes, seemingly in search of something. She found herself still reclined on the same couch where she had drifted off earlier.
"What are you looking for?" she inquired, her voice groggy from sleep.
Yushio turned his gaze towards her acknowledging her presence. "Ah, you're awake. I'm in search of a map," he replied with a hint of urgency in his tone.
"A map? Why do you need a map?" Hana asked, sitting up and rubbing her eyes.
Yushio's countenance became grave, and he took a deep breath before speaking. "Yesterday was a close call. The men who pursued us are most likely still hunting us down, and it's not safe to remain here any longer. If they find us…”
He didn't need to finish that statement, as Hana was already aware of the gravity of the situation. Even with her confusion about recent events, she knew that those men were a threat. The realization caused her eyes to widen with fear, and she asked Yushio in a trembling voice, "What should we do? Where can we go?"
Finally finding what he was searching for, he stood up, holding a rolled-up map in his hand. "I have a plan. But we need to move quickly," he said, unfurling the map on the coffee table in front of them.
Hana sat up straight, examining the map. It was detailed, with markings indicating different areas of the dream world. "Where are we now?" she asked.
"We're in the Enchanted Haven Forest," Yushio replied, pointing to a spot on the map. "And we need to make our way to the Luminaria. It's the safest place in the Dream world, and we can hide there until we figure out what to do next."
Hana nodded, her heart racing with adrenaline. "Okay, let's go. But how are we going to get there?"
Yushio smiled, a glint of mischief in his eyes. "We'll have to steal a ride on a dream dragon," he said, winking at her.
Hana's eyes widened with excitement. A dream dragon! She had heard stories of them from her mother’s bedtime stories. They are majestic creatures with wings of fire and scales of iridescent colors. She had never seen one before, but the thought of riding one sent shivers down her spine.
In a sudden realization, Yushio remembered the condition of Hana's feet and glanced down to see that they were now wrapped in professional-looking bandages.
"Are your feet feeling better now?" he inquired with genuine concern.
"Yeah, I went to the hospital," Hana replied, nodding to confirm her statement.
"Good," he replied, acknowledging the positive news. "You'll need shoes for our travels," he continued, pondering the situation.
He walked over to a stack of cardboard boxes and began rummaging through them until he found a pair of sneakers.
"Here, try these on and see if they fit," he said, handing the shoes to Hana.
Hana slipped her feet into the sneakers and was pleasantly surprised to find that they fit perfectly. "They fit nicely," she remarked.
"Are you ready?" he asked.
Hana's heart beat with excitement as she nodded, eager to see the dream dragons Yushio spoke of. They dashed out of the house, the map clutched firmly in Yushio's hand, and made their way towards the outskirts of the forest. As they reached the edge of the trees, Yushio declared with pride, "We're here."
Hana looked around in disbelief and asked, "What...but where are the dragons?"
He chuckled. "You can't see them, Hana. Dream dragons have the ability to change the colors and patterns on their scales, blending seamlessly into different environments, and making them nearly invisible when they don't want to be seen."
Hana listened intently, intrigued by the power of the dream dragons. Suddenly, a question popped into her mind and she asked, "Then how do you know they're here?"
Yushio turned to her, a mischievous glint in his eye. "It's a secret."
Hana pouted as she shot a resentful glare at Yushio, but he pretended not to notice as he whistled and took a few steps closer to the edge of the cliff. Speaking in a language that Hana couldn't comprehend, Yushio's voice was carried away by the wind.
All of a sudden, Hana watched as Yushio jumped off the cliff. “Huh??!!...WHATTTT?!!!!” she shouted, mind racing with panic. She ran to the edge of the precipice and knelt down, looking down and shouting his name in fear and disbelief.
