As soon as everyone calmed down and stayed still. A group of students with off white cloaks walked in and sat in an orderly manner without communicating. This group was special because they were the top of the upcoming class. They scored and were placed in the top ten in the whole student body; oddly enough four seats were vacant.
Soon after a group with black coats walked in. These were the teachers; everyone remained silent- many without having the nerve to speak first.
A middle aged women with smile lines weaves in her cheeks on the right side of the director stood up and tapped her glass with a metal spoon. Clearing her throat,” I hope everyone enjoys their meal and gets settled into this academy, cheers!”
The director started eating, so the rest joined in after the first bite.
The meal consisted of a very thick cut of Roast Beef, swimming in a gravy sort of glaze, the multiple slices accompanying soft roasted potatoes. The two sides consisted of a cheesy macaroni and asparagus. This was the main plate; as there were even more sides laid out across the middle of the tables. Basically set up for kings and queens.
Oliver's mouth watered, and maybe even drooled a little but no one was paying attention. He cut up the slice of Roast Beef; juices gushing from the cut- in the mouth it exploded with a rich seasoning. It was truly such a beautiful waste, as Oliver could only have a couple of bites before he was finished.
At this point it was only ten minutes after everyone was digging in, so Oliver only got up and said a mini 'excuse me' as he carried the plate to where the waste disposal area was at. But before he could truly get up, the director singled him out.
"Oliver. Was there something wrong with this dinner?"
Oliver placed down his food on the table but remained standing up. He looked forward with a blank expression and said," No Mr. Smith, I'm just not feeling well."
Mr. Smith leaned back on his chair and drummed his fingers against the table while leaning on his other arm. A little smile laid on his lips while he drawled out, "Oliver come over with your plate of food." He said while leaning his body to the front with his hands crossed in front of him.
Oliver turned to get his plate and scanned at everyone that laid eyes on him for being the focal attention of the director. He never looked down and instead looked straight ahead as he walked his way to the director. All the passage between his seat and director; Oliver made eye contact. As Oliver got to the front and main podium, which was a little bit leveled up against Oliver shoulders- so Oliver looked like a toddler compared to the table.
The table height did not erase the silent stubbornness off Olivers face. The director grabbed the fork off of Olivers plate and poked around the little dent of food Oliver ate.
"Oliver why is it always that you ignore the full picture?"
"The cooks spent so much hard work, not--"
"You could tell them my Thanks."
Oliver interrupted with slightly colder eyes.
"Oliver, open up." The director said ignoring Oliver remarks.
He had a full fork of meat and asparagus wrapped to fit into the mouth.
Oliver looked down then turned to face the crowd that all looked at him. At this very moment, everyone had blank faces. Meaning no one had noses and eyes and what should be on a human in general, while the room was drowned in pure silence. Oliver took a deep breath and just turned towards the director and took a deep breath. He took a bite then abruptly threw up.
It spread all in front of the directors podium and splashed on the directors face.
That is when the whispering and the jeering finally popped up.
"What is wrong with him?"
"The director was so nice!"
and multiple ews and mummers surrounded everywhere. Oliver really couldn't tolerate this sort of malicious attention so he was slightly backing away. The director stood up and nodded towards the cleaners.
"It appeared that there was an accident, everyone continue eating, I'm leaving early."
Silvestor Smith said with a lingering gaze towards Oliver.
Oliver remained composed with trembling hand wiping away at his mouth. Oliver then turned to walk towards the entrance while ignoring everyone. He stepped out and shut the doors heavily, slightly dry heaving.
The best thing to do now was to ignore that the incident ever happened. Oliver, at 8 at night, traveled back to his apartment.
Laughter surrounded the air. It was bubbly and contagious; a hidden delight surrounded by a wrapper. Two boys ran around overgrown grass, mud between their toes, white shirts dirty from random stains, and grass tickling them into laughing with each other. Each of these sweet angels looked no more than six years of age. The one with almost translucent blond hair tackled the pure black haired child and started tickling each other. More laughter sprung up from their lungs and invaded the air.
"Young Sir's!"
The white haired blond one gasped in mischievousness as he bubbled out," Oliver! Lets scare the maid!"
He silently giggled some more, and grabbed Oliver's little hand and hid themselves well in the tall blades.
The maid approached but did not step into the grass but still looked around to find her young masters.
"BOO!!!"
Screamed two young boys shocking the maid while they ran around her in an attempt to evade her. The blond one, the leader, rumbled out," Oliver don't let her catch us!" as they ran around the corner of the opened doorway to get to the dinning room.
They dominoed into the dinning room one after the other sitting in the chairs; mud rubbing off on the fancy cushions.
The blonde haired boy gasped out," Lets eat, Oliver!"
He grabbed the food bared hand and ate through it like a cub who has not learned to use their paws. Hinting at Oliver to follow a long. Oliver smiled shyly and followed a long.
