Chapter 8 – Never seek to tell thy love

It has been two months since Clara had enrolled into the Meliora hearts. It is two days’ time ahead for the beginning of a new month, April. With the new month’s being two days away, Aiden thought of turning a new leaf by asking Clara out for a date.

“Hey. Kai, Kai, Kai…~ Today is the day. Today, I’m going to ask her out.”

“Ughh… you have been saying that for a month now… still no progress. Bring me progress, son.”

“Yeah today, yes today!”

Aiden had prepared his mental fortitude last couple of month for both rejection and a date. Confident Aiden went searing for Clara around the campus.

“I am close to her as a friend, it wouldn’t be weird to ask her out, right? ~”

“Be brave Aiden, BRAVE.” Slapped as he encouraged himself.

Aiden saw her seated on her chair in the class with Nagisa and lunar mumbling, smiling and giggling about something. After a minute both Nagisa and lunar saw him standing at doorway, whispered something on Clara’s ear and went out of the class. Nagisa threw a thumbs up at Aiden as she went out of the class.

“Yo, Aiden!”

“Y-Yo, C- Clara.”

“Whatcha doin there standin?”

“Nothing I came here to ask you out on a date, just kiddin….hehe.” said Aiden in a meek voice.

“HAHA! good one.” Clara said as she laughed out in a loud voice.

“So, what are you doing Clara?” Asked Aiden averting his gaze from her as he sat next to Clara.

“Nothing, just chattin up…hehe.”

“Oh then they might come back now, right?”

“Ye.”

They sat there in silence as they waited for them to return. Although Aiden knew they won’t be returning anytime now.

“Fu..hah… it’s getting late… I’m headin home. Tell’em I left when they come back.” Stood up to leave, Clara.

“By the way Aiden, are you sick or something? Your face is bright red… Oh maybe because of the sunset.”

“Anyway see ya.”

Aiden sat there blushing, silently as she was about to leave the classroom.

“No, no, no, no, no….Stop her me! Ask her out. Ask her out!”

“Hey Clara.”

“Yes?”

“Could you wait a couple of minutes before heading out? And oh, yeah please~ head through the back gate.” Asked Aiden as he ran out of the classroom.

“Y—yeah, Sure…. And he left.”

Clara fidgeted in her class as she wasted three minutes and after three minutes just like Aiden asked she headed to the back exit of the school.

Aiden stood there with a long cane formed from the dark matter, completely burning in flames.

“So what were you preparin?”

“THIS!”

Aiden begun dancing and started to sing a romantic song about going out. His dance was not rehearsed and had so many out of sync movements. Although his voice was beautiful, he dancing along while singing made him tired and panting, making the song sound grating.

“~So, Darling will you go out with me?~. ” Ended song with Aiden on knees.

“Seriously, Aiden what did you even made me watch?” Shocked Clara asked Aiden.

“My feeling for you.”

“You didn’t rehearse did you?”

“No.” shook his head.

“Fufufu….hahaha. Did you even know how embarrassing it is?” said Clara, as she lifted up kneeling Aiden.

“Extremely, I did that without thinking.”

“I really, really want to crawl under a rock and die.” Said Aiden with an embarrassed and depressed look on his face.

“Yes.”

“Yes, like you want me to crawl under rock and die? ~”

“No, No, it’s a yes for… ahem… ‘~so, darling will you go out with me~?’…pff.”

“WAIT! A yes like yes… for date?” Asked Aiden with his pupils dilated and his face sparking in joy.

“Yes.” Reassured Clara.

“Wow, didn’t expect that song and dance to do the work. Should thank Kai next time for his advice.”

“My advice, don’t ask love guidance from him next time.”
