He lay there on the cold ground panting heavily until eventually exhaustion claimed hold and pulled him into oblivion where darkness reigns supreme As he slipped deeper into unconsciousness, Zellrid's mind was filled with horrific images from his past. Memories of his past as kid who was born with a mysterious ability to control lightning and the pain his family had endured as they tried to keep him from harm. He remembered how he used escape into the nearby forest where he would find solace in wildlife, picking up wild Strawberries for sustenance. But what he remembered most was his mother. He thought back to her long black hair and that special shade of yellow in her eyes, the same color as sunflowers that grew around their home. She would hug him close when danger was near just like she had done during a fierce thunderstorm years ago. In those fleeting moments with his mom, Zellrid felt safe; safe enough even to defy the darkness approaching them from all sides and fight for justice no matter how small or insignificant it seemed at times But soon those memories were replaced by another scene altogether. He saw himself as a young man running away from the scary creature that had just killed his mother and destroyed the village he called home. The haunting image of bandits chasing him through lightless woods haunted Zellrid's dreams night after night, reminding him of how they snapped his father neck before turning their attention to her while she desperately tried to protect her sons but it was all in vain as one of them took advantage and raped her right in front of them, The hungry dogs were unleashed on Zellrid's brothers, who were brutally killed by the snarling beasts. The wall crashed down on zellrid, leaving him with a broken body and a scream of pain he roar with fury at the bandits responsible for his fate, demanding to know their names the master respond with a smirk, "What difference does it make to you, kid? You're doomed anyway. But I'll give it to you out of respect; take Farkas with you to the tomb."Zellrid fought hard to keep his eyes open as he lay on the ground, his body wracked with pain. He had always known that death was inevitable, but the thought of dying at the hands of these brutes made the young man clench his fists in anger. He looked around, scanning the faces of those who stared at him with menacing grins. Taking a deep breath, he screamed out "I will kill you all! Every one who set foot upon this village today shall know death by my hand!" His voice rang from the streets and carried across the barren fields. The men merely shrugged, unconcerned. The Master finally responded after retching as he admired the fresh blood running down his stained sword. " Idiot. You've never even been outside of this village your whole life, and you dare to talk about killing? You're a pathetic little worm that can't even stand up straight. How the hell do you think you'll ever kill me?" Zellrid's eyes widened in shock at those words. "You can't... be... Grimmy!" The men began to burst into laughter, yet again mocking him. The leader spoke: "Very well, let us leave this poor clown to his miserable fate. We do not deserve to end his life with our blades". The men chuckled and began to move away. They had enjoyed their time here.Zellrid lay there for three days, no food, no water. But the fourth day the sky was stormy and in a fit of rage he let out his last word before collapsing completely: "I will break through this rotting wall!" And with that shouted promise echoing within him; A lighning stock from the sky, with a loud crack of thunder and flash of light, hit the wall leting him to slip through. Only then did he realize that aside from the ringing in his ears and heavy cramping in his muscles, he was miraculously alive.Raising himself up on his elbows, Zellrid gazed around the village that had been burnt to ashes and he saw the murder and carnage. He tried to find a body he could recognize, one of his family members, but there were none left. The ground was blackened with soot and ash and there was nothing left of the life that once filled these places. All he found in this place was death
