(Klein's POV)
The audience stood there in silence, frozen to the ground, after what we had just witnessed. I looked over to check the reactions of Emma, Julian and Rebecca. Their faces were mixed with a hint of shock and disgust at the scene. This was the most reasonable and logical reaction to have but why. . .
Why did I feel not mortified by what had just happened. . . I felt satisfied at watching the scene, the pain that was inflicted on that person. . .
He deserved it.
He deserved it all.
After all, what Julian had just told earlier, he was that classic rich person that was too full of himself, thinking he was high and mighty. What comes around goes around I suppose.
The man who had just defeated him had finally unveiled himself to the crowd, looking over at us.
"Jace," I muttered. I noticed that he had locked his eyes on me as he gave me a slight smile as I waved in response. He went back to what I think was his friends giving him a standing ovation for him as each one of them went to hug Jace.
Emma jokingly waved back at me, as I sighed in annoyance.
"Jace? Do you mean that guy over on the stage? How do you know his name?" Emma bombarded me with questions.
"Okay, first of all, that's a lot of questions you're asking and secondly. . . his my brother."
Emma quickly looked over to my brother on the stage and straight back to me, she did this multiple times, as she placed her hand on my shoulder shaking me ferociously.
"That's your brother!? How is he so handsome and hot!. . . and what happened to you?" Emma scoffed looking at me with disgust.
"Wow, you really are a cruel woman Emma." I muttered.
"Excuse me but are we just going to forget the part where your brother just killed someone?" Julian asked.
"You commoners are honestly stupid it sometimes disgusts me."
We all looked behind us to see another girl who had the most gorgeous features. Her curly black hair that had a bit of green and the end of her hair strands that reached to her lower neck and her green eyes that complimented her face, as she was currently polishing her nails, inspecting them.
These girls' beauty in this school was on a whole another level. Was this the power of being a rich person?
"Excuse me!? Who are you calling stupid, and what's your name you snob." Emma retorted back to her.
The girl had finally stopped looking at her nails as she looked back at us with a disgusted look on her face.
"I said what I said you are all stupid. I mean it was obvious that the principal was giving us hints that this school wasn't going to be normal. Besides if you see over there," She pointed in a certain direction. "Look at how those seniors, sophomores and the guy who had just killed that person over there. It looks like they don't even care. In fact, it seems like they are actually we're entertained by it, and it was a normal thing for them."
She had a point. The principal did say some questionable things and the looks on those sophomores and seniors were used to this kind of thing.
"And my name. . . what is my name? Well, it's none of your business none of you is worthy of it. . . however time will tell if I do tell." She said the last part, looking at me specifically with a smirk, it was as if she could tell me something about me, that I didn't know about.
She stood up looking as people started forming different groups.
"It seems some people have already discovered how this school works, of course, you commoners wouldn't be able to find out. . . I'm going to go so I don't fall behind just like you people. Enjoy!" She walked off, Emma looked like she was going to leap out of her seat to tackle her down as you and Julian restrained her from doing so.
"I'm going to kill that bitch!" She angrily said, using all her force to try to break from the restraints of our arms.
"Calm down, now's not the time," I said to her, as she looked back at me in shock.
"Not the time!? I've had enough people judging us because we're deemed as commoners. So what if we're commoners? We're probably just as talented as those bastards." She hissed.
"Everyone, we will now begin with selecting you in a faction. These factions that you will be placed in, the leaders over here of the 5 factions will decide whether they draft you on their side or not. They already have made a list of people who they want on their faction. The 5 faction names are Neptsy, Vulluf, Plext, Farlo and Rosten. Instead of teachers, the leader of each grade will be running the classes and how they work. Everyone organise yourself into rows and columns and good luck." The Principal walked off the stage as now each leader of the factions and members of the factions walked forward onto the stage.
(Jace's POV)
"We're almost done with the enlistment. . . I must say these juniors have a lot more potential than we did back then. especially that brother of yours." Dominic gave me a smirk praising my brother. It did make me happy that he was doing alright for himself.
"Anyways speaking of which it seems it's his turn to the stand,"
We all looked at my brother who had arrived at the allocated area, he waved at me and I simply gave him a nod.
It seems that Isla who always dressed to impressed and today was certainly one of those days. She was the most stunning one at the moment and she knew that. That was just the type of person she was. She emitted utter beauty but she was aslo a sly fox who had a way with words. Dangerous words.
Clever girl.
"So this is the brother I've been hearing all about. . . You must be Klein Ruez a pleasure to meet you. You are even more handsome than Jace when he was your age." She walked up to my brother but Fredrick and the others quickly stopped her in her tracks, while the members of her faction backed her up.
It was already getting intesne.
"Remember you're not allowed to touch the new juniors it's protocol Isla." Fredrick sternly said.
Isla simply rolled her eyes.
"You're so boring so serious. Protocol this, protocol that, that's why no girl has ever taken a like to you. Or even dare speak to you." Isla said in a sweet tone that dripped with acid. She still had that bright smile that was two faced. She always knew how to get under someone's skin, espically mine.
The tension between them was obvious to see after all our factions did hate each other's guts.
"That's enough you two." Ross the leader of Rosten who was a pretty tall but bulky guy placed his hands on the both of them, separating them apart before they could do anything.
While the other two leaders Vulluf and Plext simply spoke to one another, enjoying the scene.
Fredrick slapped Ross's hand away from him.
"Who do you think you are touching me like that you bottom tier?" Fredrick hissed at Ross, as Ross simply sighed to himself.
"Enough! Get back to your positions all of you, we want to be a role model to Jace's brother don't we now?" Dominic looked over at me with a smile.
Everyone went back to their positions as Dominic spoke once more.
"Now then that we brought that out of the way. Let's begin the recruitment of Klein Ruez over here. The leaders of your respected factions raise your hands if you are interested in him.
I glanced over at Isla who noticed my look as she subtly raised her hand in delight.
Ross followed suit, while Vulluf and Plext leaders decided it was a no for them. Dominic the leader of the Farlo faction smirked as he raised his hand slowly up. He looked at me quickly to see if I had approved of his action, even though he was the leader of our faction, he always did care about the member's opinions.
I slowly nodded my head in no, to which Dominic looked surprised at what I had done, but nonetheless respected my decision as he put his hand back down.
"Really? Isn't that ironic that the younger brother gets denied by the older brother, what an interesting story?" Isla chuckled.
Dominic leaned in closer to me, whispering some words to me.
"You know I respect your decision and all but he is your brother wouldn't you want him with us?" Dominic asked.
"No, I would never want him here, he is too weak-willed, his not capable enough to be a part of this faction. He simply isn't good enough." I made sure to say that out loud for everyone to hear, of course, my brother wasn't like any other brother he didn't get jealous or mad he simply accepted this comment of mine with respect, keeping silent.
(Klein's POV)
I'll admit those words did hurt a little bit, but I always respected my brother's choice. There was always a reason for his words.
"Alright then, I suppose Isla and Ross are still inclined for you to join their faction. Just so you know Klein Ruez, this is where you make your choice on which faction you want to be in, there is no right choice there's only your choice." Dominic stated at me. A nod of approval was done to make my decision.
Two people were standing in front of me, Isla and Ross. I didn't know much about any of those two. I glanced over to my brother and he had no absolute reaction on his face, but I knew well enough that he wanted me to pick the right one out of those two.
So this was it, the choice I would make, if my brother was happy with it I'd be happy with it.
"I would like to join the Rosten faction." I clearly stated.
Murmurs around me began to spread, I couldn't hear what they were exactly saying but this was a choice they were not expecting from me. Even though Ross didn't show it on his face, his eyes ever so slightly lightened up, while Isla appeared to look a bit shocked, as for some reason she would subtly glance over back to Jace.
"Are you sure this the choice you want to make. . . you know my faction welcomes you with open arms." Isla stated.
I already had made my choice, I'd stick to it. I'd stick to my guns.
"No I'm positive about my choice, I would like to join the Rosten faction." I firmly said, standing my ground.
"If that's what you wish then he's all yours Ross. . . enjoy," Dominic said.
The other faction leaders and members dispersed away from the scene, as Ross and the people behind him walked up to me with his hand out, offering to give a handshake, and so I accepted.
"Thank you, for joining our faction as you know my name is Ross over here are my 2nd and 3rd in command, Louis and Daniel." They both gave you a small nod.
"My name is Slove the leader of the 2nd year group of the faction over here are my 2nd and 3rd in command Frouje and Anton."
"Nice to meet you all, I hope you can take care of me," I said.
"We most certainly will. . . oh and I have a message from someone," Ross said, as the members around him chuckled at what was about to come next.
"A message? What did it say."
"It says, I'm going to kill that bitch." Ross slowly muttered.
I sighed to myself as I already knew who it was.
"I'm assuming Emma's in this faction as well huh?"
Ross nodded his head.
"Not just them, it seems that those two others named Julian and Rebecca are here," Slove said.
"Wow, they're all here what are the chances of that. Is it possible that we could head out there now I would like to see them again if I could?"
Ross placed his hand on my shoulder.
"Sure let's go. I'll lead you the way, because not only was there an opening ceremony for the whole school, but there was also an opening ceremony that each of the factions hold for the recruits that join, that's where things started getting real. Now come along."
I didn't know what he meant by that. But it must have related to being a. . .
Winner.
