A year has elapsed since Akio's birth, and he proves to be an exceptionally quick learner. Rohan and I have both settled into the tranquil countryside life. Ever since the encounter with Thomas, peace has prevailed. Rohan dedicates himself to aiding the village, lending a hand with security, food, and various tasks requested by the villagers. The workload doesn't bother him, considering the generous compensation he receives.
Meanwhile, I take care of Akio at home, occasionally assisting in village matters, particularly when tracking skills are required—not Rohan's forte. The village's quality of life has improved dramatically since our arrival, or so the villagers constantly express their gratitude whenever we step out in public.
As Akio grows at a seemingly accelerated pace, it appears he won't be the only one. A few months ago, two of our former party members joined us in this village. Having struggled to find their ideal living situation, they decided to join us after hearing our glowing accounts of the village through our communicators. Farkas and Luna, both wolf-like beastmen, became our neighbors in a house adjacent to ours. They possess human-like appearances, adorned with wolf ears, tails, and patches of fur instead of skin. Their daughter, Ilva, inherits her father's physical features and her mother's vibrant personality—an adorable combination.
Apart from these developments, life in this small village of Grenzide has remained uneventful. Grenzide stands as one of the prominent nations on this planet, alongside several others. Presently, tensions brew between Grenzide and Ashulm, its neighboring country, raising the specter of war. We ardently hope that conflict can be avoided, for we yearn to shield our child from the ravages of a war-torn world.
A boy wanders into the woods near his home. He becomes separated from his friend and starts roaming around the woods until he discovers a clearing. In that clearing, a dying beast is lying on the floor. Curious, the boy approaches, and the beast offers its heart to him. The boy takes the heart, and thus begins his journey with the beast's powers.
