Sasha stood there fidgeting with her sleeve, unsure of what she was supposed to do. 

• -C'mon kid, take a seat, insisted Morgane while pointing to a single chair placed in front of a corkboard covered with maps and sketches. 

One drawing, in particular, caught the young girl's attention. A perfect representation of the creature she saw in the forest before she arrived here. The sight of it chilled her blood, and she shivered in fear. Sasha sat in the chair, and the named Morgane stood tall, her hands on her hips, between the small girl and the board. Was she trying to make herself larger and more intimidating, or was this just her usual stance? 

• -So, how's it going with Lysa? Sasha's tutor asked. 
• -She is likable, she said evasively. The little girl was still weirded out by the woman with pink hair. Oh, and what did you call her earlier? she said, curious. 
• -Pila-Lysa, ya? questioned Morgane. Ah ya! I forgot you weren't from around here. Ya see Pila is, well...WAS a specie of bird that is now extinct because they were too damn stupid to flee their predators. it gives meaning to ‘ being a Pila brain‘.

• -Uh... I think it's ‘being a bird brain‘ actually, rectified the young girl.

Morgane raised one eyebrow, glancing at Sasha in confusion.

• -Anyway! Egea, the teacher said. 
• -yeah, Egea, repeated Sasha. Heu wait, what is Egea? I've heard it from Lysandra before. 
• -Ok, first of all, Egea is the vast world we live in, Morgane declared, opening her strong arms wide as if she was trying to hold the whole world in her hands. I won't go into details because we'll be here all night. This world is divided into five ‘layers‘: layer 0, the one we are on, layer -1 and layer -2 which are quite dangerous and not a good place to be in for an outsider, she said like a warning, crossing her arms over her muscly chest. Then, there is layer 1 and 2 are in the sky. There are tons of creatures flying around, usually a nice place. Ya still following, kid? 
• - yes madam, answered Sasha. 
• -Oof, you make me feel old, she said, dramatically holding her hand to her chest as if she had been shot in the heart. I know I'm as old as that aged pila-Lysa, but at least I don't look like it, the pink-haired woman laughed. Just call me Morgane, kid. 

• -Understood, Sasha responded in a soldier-like manner. 

The two girls laughed.

• -So, the focus of my lesson will be level 0, since, ya know, we are there, Morgane suddenly became much more serious and started speaking in much more developed sentences. It is divided into 4 continents: Audrora, Izira, Enira and Liblaes. We are not on any of them. We are on Esten, an island north of Enira. Did you get it?
• -Yes, Sasha answered. 
• -Perfect, SO! Morgane yelled as she hit the board, startling Sasha. Now, for the realms! There are three of them: the aquatic realm, the human realm ( where you are from) and the dragon's realm or, should I say, the monster's realm. Some years ago, its population consisted of dragons, logic, she said sarcastically. They can do cool stuff with their powers like battles! I never saw any, such a shame, Morgane pouted. We'll go back in time to understand what happened to them. So...

it all started with a little magician girl whose talent was metamorphosis. She could transform anything into something entirely different. She could transform people into monsters.

Morgane pointed to the incredibly realistic sketch of the creature that Sasha recognized instantly. 

-She is from Usluan, a country in Izira. She started a war, trying to gain control of The world. Everyone hid on level 2 to escape her troops of terrifying monsters. Well, everyone except the people from the dragon's realm. They volunteered as bait, Sacrificed themself for Egea. Then, the monsters were all locked inside the realm, and the last dragons escaped and are still hiding to this very day. It is highly unlikely to stumble upon one, but when people do, they usually kill them for their scales, horns and most importantly: their core.

• -Then, why were there monsters in the human realm? you said they were sealed inside the dragon realm, Sasha pointed out with worry in her eyes. 
• -Well, I might have a theory but, if it's true, it could mean the end of us. All of us, Sasha's teacher said, concerned. I think a portal to the human world might have opened but it's highly unlikely since only a being very powerful could open a gate between realms. Morgane hesitated for a moment. She was lost in thoughts. If monsters found a way out, it is almost guaranteed that humans will all die. 

Sasha's heart stopped. Her family? dead?? No. Surely there was another explanation. The young girl tried pushing away the thought of her lifeless loved ones. She jumped from her chair, put her arm against her heart, and took a deep breath. 

• -I swear. I swear with all my heart. I swear on my life that I will do ANYTHING to counter this disaster! Sasha yelled with determination. 
• -Ah! That's the spirit, kid! Morgane encouraged the young girl. She had quite a fiery spirit too.
