Prologue
Shawn had already woken up the entire house early in the morning by dashing back and forth from the living room to the dining room while playing with the rubber ball.
"Shawn, it's early in the morning and you're already playing, did you get a good night's sleep?" Rain asked as she carried Shawn into her arms.
A loud cry of kittens has been heard in the house. Jade is laying in a bed made with unused garments as bedding, next to her three kittens, who are crying.
"Ugh... hey, If you're hungry, I'm just right here. Come on, are you waiting for someone to shove your little mouth on my breast for you guys to drink milk? What are you royalty?" Nikki shakes her head in disbelief as she watches Jade lecture the kittens.
"Do you think she did that to us?" Nikki wondered.
"I'm not sure. You're older than me, you should know."
"She gave birth to you outside, as far as I remember."
"Then it's even worse," Shawn concluded.
Rain approached the kittens, softly lifting them and placing them closer to Jade so they could drink.
"Jade, look after your kittens, you've been laying around all day."
"I don't care anymore, I'm tired, let me sleep," Jade said, stretching her entire body and sleeping while her kittens fought for their lives simply to drink and survive.
"Are you paying a visit to Reese tonight?" Shawn asked. Nikki gave a nod. Nikki has been visiting Reese every night since their reunion. They keep themselves busy by talking and catching up.
Nikki was walking to Charlie's house on a moon night when she encountered Dean. She had also discovered that Meave was his mother since that day. Jade and Ian are still unaware of the truth, but only time will tell when Meave reveals herself.
"Going to Charlie's?" Dean inquired. Nikki gives a nod.
"How about you? Any word on Meave? I heard she left again."
"It's not your business kid, go worry about your own mother," Nikki just chuckled to Dean's attitude. Despite being him, she understands he loves her mother and just wanted some time to heal.
Nikki approached Charlie's residence and knocked. Someone smiled at her as they opened the door.
"Hi," Charlie said. "Uhm, please come inside."
"Ah no, we're going out... tonight, because it's moon night, so...our human bonding," Nikki stated.
Reese descended the stairs, carefully stepping out the door until the moon night caught a glimpse of her, then changed. They resembled each other, just as Meave said.
"Let's go?" Both grinned as Reese approached her daughter and walked, clutching to Nikki's arm.
Nikki can't quit glancing at Reese as she walks, which made her mother laugh.
"Why are you staring at me like that?"
"Nothing, it's just that... I realized that we really looked the same in terms of fur color, and I always thought that this orange spot of mine came from my father when, in fact, it came from you."
"So, how was Jade treating you?"
"I can only say that better than her newborns," the two laughed.
"Really... Jade has always been good to me," Reese got silent after hearing it from Nikki.
"I'm sorry..." she said, avoiding her daughter's look. "I left you back then---"
"It's okay, Mom, what matters is that we're finally together."
The two went about till they came to Garrett's place.
"Garrett!" exclaimed Reese. He looked at her, and they both smiled. They haven't seen one other in a long time.
"Your… back."
"Um, yeah, finally, kinda got lost on the way back home, but gladly met Charlie's family."
"Oh, you mean that new kid?" Reese asks, nodding.
"You reunited with your child, good for you," Garrett added, staring at Nikki, who was assisting Blake in getting food.
"I ordered your favorite, Reese," Nikki remarked cheerfully. Nikki noticed her mother's smile as she placed the fish on the table. Her life grew more joyous after she learned about the moon night, considering everything that had happened in the previous several days. She looked above the sky, the bright moon, and smiled.
End.
