A Beautiful Sunflower

A Beautiful Sunflower

"Uhhh..."

"It hurts so much"

"..."

It was pitch black and I tried looking around to see if anything had changed. Realizing that all my senses had completely been lost I tried to find a way out of this situation I was in.

'Actually, scratch that. What situation am I even in?' I had been in the dark for what felt like an eternity trying to remember what got me into this situation. It's a funny thing how the subconscious works actually, I had no clue where I was but while I had been unconscious I still never seemed to forget these cursed memories. Memories that never seemed to end, as if my head was on a broken record loop.

'Please... Someone... Just end my suffering already.' I thought to myself.

After what had to be around an hour passing by my consciousness was starting to come back to me and I was starting to remember everything that led to the situation I was in now.

Fragments of my memories had started to piece together now and I had begun to remember what led to this event. Memory clearing, I had transported back to earlier that day, to the events that led to my current predicament.

It had been 2 years since the last memory that I had.

It was our 2-year anniversary, which had also happened to be the day of Emily's birthday. After we got out of school I told Emily I had a surprise for her.

"Once school is out head home and dress up nice Emily", I had said with a grin spreading ear to ear. It was a very special occasion for us as we would hardly celebrate anything besides our birthdays and anniversaries. I made sure to remember this one because I had planned something very special for us. A diner at Camion Tueur, the nicest French restaurant in the town over from us.

This town was much larger than the countryside town that we had been living in for most of our lives and I wanted to give her an experience she wouldn't forget.

Once I arrived home I got dressed in the best formal attire I had. A blue button-up blazer with black slacks. This was a gift from my uncle for my 18th birthday last year and I ended up using it soon as it was a requirement to take Emily to prom.

After dressing up I sent Emily a message confirming that she was ready to go. Waiting for a response I decided to look at myself in the mirror to see how good this Casanova was looking right now.

"Utterly perfect" I had murmured under my breath ready to go.

5 minutes later Emily responded saying "Yes! Ready!" and I grabbed the keys to my uncle's car. I told him all the plans I had for the rest of the day and he agreed to let me use the car as he was a very kind-hearted person who rarely said no. The car was a 97' Boyota Lamry and thankfully he had just gotten the AC fixed in it, as I knew females couldn't stand a car without AC in this day and age.

Arriving at Emily's house I told her I was there. When next thing I know. The door swung open, revealing the breathtaking vision that was Emily. Time seemed to stand still as my eyes locked onto her, absorbing every detail, every nuance that made her the epitome of beauty.

Emily stood before me like an artist's masterpiece come to life. Her lustrous chestnut hair cascaded in gentle waves, framing her face with ethereal grace. The soft sunlight filtering through the window danced upon her flawless skin, giving her an almost radiant glow. Her eyes, a mesmerizing shade of deep emerald, held a spark of curiosity and kindness, drawing me in with their magnetic allure.

A delicate smile graced her lips, a captivating blend of warmth and playfulness. Her features were harmoniously balanced, each contour and line effortlessly blending into the next, creating a portrait of elegance and poise. It was as if every stroke of the brush had been meticulously placed to craft this captivating work of art.

Her attire, carefully chosen for the occasion, accentuated her natural beauty. She wore a stunning, flowing dress that mirrored the hues of a summer sunset—soft pastel shades seamlessly transitioning from pink to gold. The fabric whispered with each step, lending an air of grace and femininity to her every movement. Her dress clasped tight against her slim but graceful body, making her look as if she was a sunflower swaying in the sun.

As she approached, a delicate fragrance enveloped the air, leaving a trail of sweet blossoms in her wake. It was a scent that carried promises of enchantment and adventure, evoking a sense of wonder and anticipation.

But what truly captivated me about Emily was not just her outward beauty. It was the radiance that emanated from within her—the kindness in her eyes, the genuine warmth in her smile, and the unwavering support she offered me through every triumph and tribulation. She was not just a masterpiece to behold, but a soul that illuminated my world with her presence.

At that moment, as our eyes locked and a shared understanding passed between us, I felt an overwhelming surge of gratitude for the universe aligning our paths. Emily, with her indescribable allure and compassionate spirit, was the beacon of light that guided me through the darkest of times. She was my sanctuary, my confidante, and my greatest inspiration.
