Let me adore you, Lilac

Fateful Encounters

Fateful Encounters

May 25, 2023

The atmosphere brightened for a moment as if the flowers were about to fill the place.
It felt like spring had arrived as if the chirping of birds would soon fill the air.
Lisan took gentle steps towards Bibars, who stood next to her dark black car.
He raised his head with a smile and asked, "What? Did you change your mind?"
Lisan smiled softly and took out her car keys, extending them towards him, saying,
"I think it's more appropriate for you to ride in my car."
Bibars laughed gently, took the keys, and opened the car door for her, saying, "Please, go ahead," placing his hand on the edge of the car as if afraid of bumping her head.
Lisan gracefully thanked him and got into the car, and he followed suit.
It seemed like Lisan's car was more comfortable than his own, as he appeared impressed by it.
Lisan then asked with a smile, "Do you think it's more comfortable than necessary, which discourages you from driving?" He replied, "Well, I think it suits me more than you."
He started driving cautiously and sensibly and wondered, "Why do you enjoy driving fast?"
She laughed and said, "Who said I enjoy that? I've always believed that I can surpass things that have surpassed me if I speed up a little." She paused for a moment, innocently looked at him, and added, "Like time, for example." He fell silent for a moment and then said, "Hmm, you do surpass time. I think you're silly because you don't enjoy time." With a gentle smile, he looked at her and said, "Right now, I want time to slow down so that I can enjoy it more. Does that mean you want it to speed up so we can part quickly? Hmm?" He raised an eyebrow in surprise. Lisan smiled gently, then turned her face towards the window, saying, "It doesn't seem like my presence with you is something to be quickly surpassed."
Bibars asked, "What did you say? I didn't understand."
She smiled and said, "It's silly now." She began to laugh gently, like an innocent child receiving a compliment from someone she loved.
He smiled at the passing scenery, then leaned back and seemed to be enjoying her company, hoping that they would never reach their destination.
The two of them headed towards Bibars' house, where he lives with his brother, his brother's wife Rula, and their son Tim. They enjoyed exchanging conversations together.

Meanwhile, Lujain and Lamin remained in complete silence, as Lujain was a shy and quiet person.
Lamin wondered, "Where are you headed? I don't know where you live."
Lujain smiled gently and apologized, saying, "I'm sorry, I forgot to mention it. Well, I live in the southern area." Lamin smiled and said, "What a coincidence! I also live there. I recently moved there."
Lujain responded, "It seems that I won't trouble you then since it's the same destination." She smiled and turned her face towards the window, where raindrops started to fall.
She appeared happy and asked, "Isn't it problematic if I open the window?"
Lamin replied, "Of course not," and opened the window next to her.
She extended her hand, gently touching the raindrops, and a delicate, angelic smile formed on her face as she enjoyed the weather accompanying the rain. Lamin smiled as if he had fallen in love with her since the first moment he saw her at the café, and now his love grew as he witnessed her beauty beside him. He slowed down the car to savor the moment even more and said, "We can walk in the rain if you'd like."
She replied, "Really?" She smiled and nodded in agreement.
He gently smiled back and parked the car by the empty roadside, near a small park that adorned the deserted place. Lujain quickly stepped out of the car and started embracing the rain with all her senses. She appeared extremely happy as if she had never seen rain before. She smiled at Lamin and said, "Thank you."
He smiled back in return, and they began walking together, engaging in conversation. They asked each other questions as if it was their first meeting, their first coincidence, and their first acquaintance.
They walked side by side as if they had known each other for a long time.
Lujain behaved like a child, swaying and placing her hands behind her back as if she were in the company of someone she had always been accustomed to.

Across the way, Lisan stared at the rain through the window, forming a gentle smile as she watched.
Meanwhile, Bibars continued driving. He then said, "It seems like you enjoy this weather."
She responded, "Yes, but it also makes me feel sensitive."
She laughed softly and added, "I feel sensitive towards beautiful things."
She returned to silently observing the rain.
The raindrops intensified, accompanied by a gentle, cool breeze that caressed their bodies.

Both Lamin and Lujain enjoyed their conversation under the rain, laughing as they hurriedly made their way back to the car. Raindrops dripped from their hair, causing Lujain's hair to quickly curl, and the rain adorned her face with droplets. She looked adorable, and Lamin couldn't take his eyes off her. He, too, appeared even more handsome as the rain soaked him. His black hair and brown eyes sparkled, and a delicate smile adorned his small pink lips, enhancing his long face.
He retrieved some tissues and handed them to Lujain, saying, "Here you go." Gratefully, she took the tissues from him. He then resumed driving, heading towards their destination.

As for Lisan and Bibars, their car was already parked in front of Bibars' house.
They listened to the raindrops that echoed through the place.
Lisan said, "Alright, you have arrived now. I will go upstairs."
Bibars, quickly turning his face, said, "Um... What about Rula? How will she know that I apologized if she does not see you?" Lisan responded, "Um... Well, call her then."
Bibars muttered, "Um, she doesn't answer the phone when she's at home. Come on, come on, just greet her. I won't force you to stay." Lisan, looking at the rain that shakes the place, said, "Um... Alright, it doesn't matter." Bibars smiled and quickly opened the door, then said, "Wait for me here then." He rushed towards the house, while Lisan sat in the car, surprised by his actions, saying, "Didn't you say you wanted me to meet Rula?"
Then he quickly returned, holding an umbrella in his hand.
He approached Lisan, opened the door for her, and said, "Hold this," pointing to the umbrella.
Then he placed a jacket on her shoulders, which he also took from the house.
Lisan smiled gently, and he took the umbrella again, saying, "I think you're also sensitive to the cold."
He then held her hand as they stepped out of the car.
They stood together under one umbrella while he locked the car door.
Meanwhile, Rula watched them from inside the house through the window.
She had already taken a picture of them together, both under one closely held umbrella.

Lamin escorted Lujain to the building where she resides.
She got out of the car, bid him farewell, and thanked him.
Then he also got out and headed towards the same building, saying, "Wait, I also live here."
She replied, "I haven't seen you here before."
He said, "Neither have I."
They laughed together and entered the elevator in the same direction.
They both pressed the 7th-floor button.
They arrived and took the same direction.
Apartment 301 belonged to Lujain, and the one opposite, Apartment 302, belonged to Lamin.
They both exclaimed in surprise, "Hmm, we are neighbors too."

It was all a coincidence, then.
It started on Flight 101, where they all were on the same flight from Paris to Beijing.
Bibars was sitting near Lisan, while Lamin was also on board the same plane, sitting behind Lujain.
But none of them paid attention to each other.
They disembarked from Flight 101 only to board the same flight again,
an unknown journey without a pilot as well.
