As the soft glow of the moon cast its luminous spell upon the gallery, its brilliance outshone any other illumination, creating a divine ambiance that felt like a celestial blessing.
As I trailed behind Mable, she led me to the event hall where the grand cathedral event was set to take place. Near the statue of the Goddess Aurora stood a monstrous, box-like object covered in a shroud. "I wonder what's lurking under that veil," I mused aloud.
Suddenly, Ambra sauntered into the hall through the main entrance.
"Ahh, you're right on time, Ambra," Mable exclaimed, clapping her hands with glee.
"Why's that?" Ambra inquired, her curiosity piqued.
"Because I was just about to reveal 'that'," Mable teased, winking at me.
"Ah, yes! The moment we've all been waiting for," Ambra chimed in, conspiratorially. "I can't wait to see his reaction," they both whispered to each other, barely concealing their amusement at my expense.
Before she showed me the secret she was about to reveal, she first prayed to the Goddess and then told me that what she's going to show me is the greatest piece of art ever created.
She went up to the box-like thing and pulled off the cloth. I was left speechless after seeing the secret - it was a piano.
"That's a..." I couldn't find the right words to say in this situation.
"Pianoforte," Mable said as she pressed one of the piano keys, which made a sound that hummed throughout the room.
"You know this instrument can play music; it was created by one of the believers of Goddess Aurora," she said as she pressed on another key.
I went up to her and brushed my hands through the keys when a blurred memory of my mother playing the piano just crossed my mind.
"Can I try playing it?" I asked, not sure if she would agree to let me though.
"Heh, do you even know what this is, or are you just going to smash the keys for fun?" Ambra teased from behind.
Mable let out a small laugh. "You can, my dear."
As I sat in the small wooden chair, I looked at this magnificent piano and wondered who built it in this world.
According to the novel, this era shouldn't be well-versed in music. As I ran my fingers through the keyboard, I couldn't help but feel excited. After almost a decade, I was finally going to play a musical instrument. In my previous life, I was quite good at playing instruments but stopped because of a certain event.
As I pressed one key, I realized something was wrong. The keys weren't aligned as they were supposed to be, but instead, they were mirrored. Well, I expected it to be that way.
When I said I was quite good at playing instruments, I wasn't half-joking, and that's why playing something even with the mirrored keys wouldn't be hard for me.
I pushed one key, and the sound that hummed felt like bliss. At that moment, only one song came to my mind—the only thing I remember about my mother, her first song.
I can't exactly remember how my mother sang it, so I made another version of it myself. Although whenever I played this song, I always felt like my mom was watching over me.
As I pressed the piano keys, my fingers got faster, and the rhythmic notes hummed throughout the room.

Even as my hand stopped, I could still hear the hum of the song. My hands were shaking from excitement.
This note is the reworked version of my mother's song, which she had written for my father, and so I changed the lyrics a bit so that I could play it as an original song for 'her'. And though it has been decades,it still gives me chills of excitement whenever I play it.
'Ah, I totally forgot about Mable and Ambra!' I thought. I turned my head slowly in their direction to see their reaction. I was expecting that they would be surprised at how an eight-year-old played something like a piano, but I noticed something else—Ambra was sound asleep, and Mable had tears welling up in her eyes.
Mable hurried up to me and held me by my shoulders. "What was that, Saul? It was beautiful, the piece you just played... I... I can't express in words how it felt!"
Just then, Ambra also got up and came up to me. "Saul, that was AMAZING! How the hell do you even know how to play this, and that too so beautifully?"
"I don't know, I just knew how to play it instinctively."
"Haaa... maybe, just maybe, you're the incarnation of Goddess Aurora," Ambra teased me, and even Mable let out a small laugh this time.
"Well, that isn't impossible, but that aside..." Mable turned towards me. Well, this time it seems like I won't be able to get away with making excuses.
"Saul," Mable looked directly into my eyes, with a serious face.
"Ye-yes," I bit my tongue.
"Could you play this song at the upcoming event?"
"Ye... wait, what?" I didn't expect her to ask me to play this song, which, from my perspective, still wasn't perfect, at such an important event.
"Wait, wait, wait, Mable, he can't do that," Ambra intervened.
"Why not?" Mable countered.
"Ah... you haven't forgotten how important this event is, have you? If he were to play that and mess up!" Ambra spoke up with a serious face, almost like she didn't want me to play this for her own personal reasons.
"I know, but I'm sure he won't make any mistakes, and I want everyone to get a taste of this music. Their belief in her would only increase if they hear the song he just played."
"Argh, I don't know, do anything you want, don't blame me if things go wrong," Ambra said as she took off in anger.
"Saul, don't mind her, okay? And I know nothing will go wrong this time... Ah, look at the time. We should head to our beds; it's going to be a busy day tomorrow, after all."
"I... I will make sure to play it more beautifully."
Mable looked at me and smiled before heading off to sleep. And I looked at the statue of Goddess Aurora. I don't know what happened at the previous event, but I'll make sure nothing goes wrong this time.

Ambra and I were busy decorating the front gate and the red carpet for the event, and Mable was keeping watch on the servants working inside the church. The preparations were almost done, and only a few small chores were left before the guests arrived.
Finally, the day of the huge event came. The whole village would be here by evening, and everything was going fairly well.
"Hey! Watch out!" I screamed. People here seemed hell-bent on dirtying the carpet that I had to clean. Mable always handed me the cleaning work.
I went to see if Ambra was doing fine, but there she was, giving her work to others. She was just standing there and ordering the servants to do her work. "Ugh, she's as arrogant as always." But nevertheless, the decorations were beautiful.
Inside, the church looked like a very calming and peaceful place with musical notes as part of the design, and the aroma of the church combined with the peaceful aura of the goddess Aurora.
Everything was sorted and planned. The church was ready to welcome its guests.
I went to look for Mable and found her sitting on a chair with a disappointed look on her face and a letter in her hand.
"What's wrong, Mable?" I asked, not sure how to approach this situation as an eight-year-old.
"Hmmm, ah Saul, it's nothing, dear. Just that my elder sister won't be able to join us for the event today," she let out a huge sigh as she informed me about her sister. I remember her mentioning her elder sister, who's a royal guard serving in one of the cities in Nevaeh. Being a royal guard is a pretty big deal in itself; only the most talented people are given the title of a royal guard.
"It's okay, Mable. We'll make the event so great that word will spread, and she'll regret missing it," I joked a bit to lighten her mood.
"Yeah, let's make sure to do that," she chuckled as she rose from her seat. " Then I'll see you in a bit, Saul."
A while later, guests started rushing in, both commoners and nobles alike. Although most nobles can't stand the commoners, in this case, their belief in the goddess was much greater than their worthless ego.
Many from renowned families attended as well, such as the Grey family, who had more estates than anyone here; the Zixs family, well-known for their underground business; and the Astra family, known as the kings of the sea route trade.
I was quite amazed looking at so many high-class people here. I had to make sure I didn't make any mistakes. I looked for Ambra, who had promised to help me tie the black robe I was wearing. I had never worn anything like it before, so I wanted her assistance with the adjustments.
Just then, I saw her talking with two people from the Astra family. I wondered if she knew them. Upon noticing me, she quickly ran towards me.
"What are you doing here?" she asked, with an annoyed look on her face.
"I wanted some help with the robe," I replied.
"Ahh! Pfft, the way you're wearing it is quite funny, you know. You've worn it the wrong way. Let me help you."
As she adjusted my robe, she told me that she was still against me playing the piano but couldn't go against Mable. She also emphasised how important this event was for everyone present.
"I will make sure not to make any mistakes," I told her confidently.
"Yeah, yeah!" she mocked, as she tightened the belt around my stomach so tightly that it felt like everything would spill out.
"You know, sometimes you don't seem like an eight-year-old to me. Your muscles, I mean. They're hardly even developed, but an eight-year-old having that is kind of, you know, unbelievable," she said as she adjusted the belt's tightness. It felt like my innards would spill out.
"Well, that's because I'm smarter than them," I replied.
"Hmph, if you're that smart, then bail out. Don't play the music. I feel like you will ruin it."
"I promise I won't make any mistakes. Instead, I'll play more professionally than last time."
It seemed like she got annoyed by what I said as she stormed off the room.
"Why was she persisting so much for me not to play?" I thought, as I gave one final touch to my robe. With this I was ready for the event.
