I walked with Ross and the others to a route of the school I had never seen, apparently, it was a secret route to their faction.
"We're here," Ross stated, looking at me, as we all had finally stepped foot onto the campus that was Rosten.
I must say this campus looked in awful condition, every building, every store, just everything looked poor.
Slove took notice of the look on my face as he placed his hand on my shoulder.
"Everything will be explained soon enough once we arrive at the opening ceremony." Slove insisted.
We all continued walking until we have finally made it to the opening ceremony, where everyone was waiting.
"Alright Klein it's time for you to go over to your friends, I think they've realised you have arrived." Ross patted me on the shoulder, while the others waved at me going to the stage area.
I walked over to see Emma, Julian and Rebecca talking to one another as they glanced over at me, looking to see who it was. Of course, Emma rolled at the sight of seeing me, Julian dapped me up, and Rebecca gave a small nod.
"I guess you picked this faction how unfortunate for me." Emma sighed.
"I'm not that bad and I mean at least the whole the gang is here," I said
"Klein, I almost expected you to join your brother's faction why didn't you?"
"Well it was be-"
"Excuse me may I please have all of your attention." Ross spoke loudly but clearly, as the noise started to drown out and everyone's devoted attention was on him.
"For the people who have picked this faction, we welcome you. My name is Ross for those who might have forgotten. These people over here are your seniors so treat them with respect and honour. Now you must have a lot of questions about how this school works and how it functions. As I speak to you now, the other factions have most likely told their members about how this school runs and so will I. The school is not like any other type of school, in this school you must fight to survive. When I mean by fight to survive this school system dictates how we live, how we get our food, how we get our water, how we get anything at all in this campus of ours. You may have all noticed that this campus looks not only smaller than the other campuses but it's in awful condition and there's a reason to that. We're at war with the other factions, in this school tournaments are held every 2 months, we get selected to verse another faction as we selected the best members from each of our year group to fight against them. . . but unfortunately we have lost nearly every duel, causing us to have shittier equipment and every time a faction wins against us in a tournament a part of our campus area is given to the winners. The winners get faction points were they get to buy what they want to benefit their own faction." Ross sadly said.
Julian raised his hand up, as Ross gave him permission to ask a question.
"So you're saying that this school is made for competition and in order to say gain better equipment and gain more things for this faction we have to win in these tournaments?"
"That's precisely right." Ross nodded his head.
"Why haven't we won anything. . . surely we must have won something, at least a little bit right?" Julian continued asking.
Ross was about to open his mouth, but Slove interrupted him, answering the question instead.
"You came blame the past years for that. . . you see whenever a faction wins, the school system favours them more as they get more advantages. Better food, better equipment anything starting with better you name it while it's the exact opposite for factions like us. So that leads us to another thing, recruitment. The best factions gets the best players because we all know the end goal of this school am I correct? It is in the end only 2 people from each faction makes it out alive in this school to represent their country in the olympics." Slove finished off saying.
"So what are the factions that are attacking us then?" Julian asked once more, everyone around him were amazed at his ability to ask these kind of questions.
"The factions that are attacking us are both Vulluf and Plex, we have a long history with them they've stripped our territory from us time and time again and I'll be honest if we lose in this next tournament of ours it'll be extremely hard to come back from it." Ross stated.
"Now enough of that, in this faction and the others as well, we control what we do. We all have a role in helping this faction, everyone matters. You will all be assigned to a role, whether it's growing crops, protecting our faction from other invaders and many more. The only thing that we don't control are the classes the school provides teachers who gives us the understanding and history of fencing. While us seniors teach you the practical aspects of fencing for the upcoming tournament. Now you are all dismissed, this will be a period of time where you are allowed to roam and enter other factions and vice versa, but tomorrow it will be like normal school having to attended classes, you also have the freedom to pick any dorm that our faction offers they're all the same you can share dorms with anyone, so once you enter a dorm it's marked by you and that person. Once you enter those dorms, everything will be provided. We use a different currency in this school so you will have a personalised card starting with 20 De which is the equivalent of $20. The left side of Campus will be owned by you juniors, the middle are for sophomores and the right is for us seniors if we ever have meetings like these we will head to the hall that can fit us all in at the junior area. Enjoy." Ross and the others headed off to their part of the campus.
Noises became to erupt within the juniors as they all rushed quickly to the dorms that they wanted to have.
"Get out of the way commoner!" They all went passed me, I guess we weren't going to get the first pick.
"I guess we aren't getting first pick for the dorms huh?" I said to them.
"Yeah I guess so, hey Klein I know we haven't known each other for that long but would you want to share dorms from bro to bro?" Julian asked, as he punched my shoulder softly.
"I wouldn't mind but what about your sister and Emma?" I asked.
"Them? Just look over there I think they're already decided what they going to do."
Every encounter you had with Rebecca she was usually quiet but whenever Emma spoke to her, Rebecca was delighted to talk with her, it was like a completely different person.
"Excuse me but could I take Klein of your hands."
I looked over to see who called out my name , Julian doing the same, and who would've thought it was none other than Jace who had a smile on his face. Rebecca and Emma stopped speaking to hear the majestic voice that was Jace.
I rolled my eyes as I glanced over Emma was squealing to Rebecca by how presumably attractive my brother was.
"S-Sure no worries you can take him. . . he's all yours." Julian said.
Emma raise her hand up.
"How could I help you. . ."
"Emma! It's Emma. I just have one question." Emma pointed at Jace.
"Go on what is it." Jace look a bit interested in how this conversation would turn out.
"Are you really Klein's older brother? I mean you guys look nothing a like, and not only that I can easily tell who's the better looking brother out the of you. It's you." She mouthed the last part, as Jace nodded in response to that comment of hers, scratching the back of his head.
"Well thank you for that. . . but my brother over here is just as good looking than me and has a way better personality." Jace smiled, placing his arm around me.
"I think it's time to go now. . . enjoy your campus." Jace said, as Emma waved goodbye excitedly to him.
I continued walking with Jace, who was currently in front of me with his hands in his pockets.
"Your not going to ask that question?" Jace asked me curiously without looking back at me.
"What question?" I asked dumbfounded with the situation, I really had no idea what he was talking about.
"You know what I said about why I didn't want you in Farlo that's all." Jace muttered out.
"Huh Farlo? You mean that, well I completely forgot about that, you had your reason to think I'm not worthy to join the faction and you know I'll always respect your decision no matter what brother." I happily said, as Jace chuckled slightly at this moment.
"Your still the same old Klein I know. How could a person be so understanding and kind like you?"
"Well I guess I just don't care about being anything really, I'm more of a go with the flow type of person." I simply said.
"Yeah you really are the same person. . . we're here now take a look at the campus notice anything different."
"Wow."
Those were only words, I could say to describe the Farlo faction campus. We all knew that their faction would be the exact opposite of ours, but we didn't know the exact point of how amazing Farlo would look.
Their campus was vibrant, popping with colour, not just that but the people in this faction looked alive, happily talking to one another. People filled the market where people bought and sold their products this was a prime example of what a good economy looked liked.
Jace gave me some time to soak in the beauty that was Farlo as we continued walking to what it appeared was the juniors crowding around a duel that happened.
"This is what I wanted to show you." Jace whispered to me.
It was two people who were currently on a stage battling it out.
Just from taking a quick glance at the duel you knew they were good.
The right fencer saw the left fencer's forwards leap and accelerates with their arm back, expecting the left fencer to parry with a step back, but the left fencer instead bounces their front foot off the ground and charges for the finish.
"AHHH!"
The right fencer immediately drops to the ground, dead.
If it was the juniors apart of my faction watching this, they would be shocked and disgusted, even perhaps puking at watching the scene, but not these juniors in the Farlo faction.
Instead of that reaction they were clapping, giving a standing ovation for the fencer who had just walked off the stage, as the fencer passed the juniors they slowly knelt down in honour.
"Wow he's really good." I said to Jace which got a slight chuckle from my response.
"He? Who said he was a he."
The fencer walked up to the both of us, as the fencer took off the mask, fixing her silver hair with dark black highlights up.
Wow.
I have no idea how many times I've said girls at this school was gorgeous, but this one. . .
This one here was drop dead gorgeous.
She took a quick glance at me, as she looked at Jace saluting him.
"Nice job Rachel, it looks like you got the juniors under control, killing 5 juniors in feat of being able to become the leader for the juniors I must say I'm impressed." Jace clapped his hands.
"Thank you." She looked over to me, pointing at me with her blade.
"I've heard a lot about you. . . now tell me I believe that they are people who are born to be great and those who aren't which one are you." Rachel question me.
"If I had to pick. . . it'd those who aren't and I don't mind being that."
"Then that is why you will fail." Rachel stated, as she walked off to the other juniors, there was a junior that you had recognised her with, it was the junior who called us stupid for not knowing what this school was about, as she gave me a smirk, waving at me.
Little did they know I'd be a true. . .
