Ruby
Alright.
Apparently Plan A failed miserably, that is, a plan where I lead Mia to the taxi where the underlings have waited for us. Yet the next thing I know, I wet myself, with the fake blood those people straped onto me along with that 16 pound weight all over my abdomen. Getting wet with fake blood is completely fine to be honest, because that’s for Plan B and C, yet it kinda grosses me out to stand in the middle of the crowd with my lower half soaked in thick red liquid looking like I was about to die or something.
Thei faces is still blurry to me, but it’s uncomfortable nonetheless.
“Oh, great.” I commented while raising both of my hands up so the blood didn’t smear the sleeves of my dress.
Meanwhile, Mark and Karl came and dispersed the crowds. I was still standing still in the middle of the waivering people, not wanting to move so the blood didn’t flow much further and such.
After discussing with the security and closing the perimeter for cleaning works, Karl paced near me and the unconscious Mia before tossing a short glance at me. He then knelt beside Mia who was laying on one of the ‘loan sharks’ lap which was actually some of Karl’s underlings that Mia didn’t recognize. Pretty relatable considering I couldn’t determine all three of their faces as they were all blurry.
“Ruby.” Mark paced to me and stopped just at the edge of the blood pool. “Are you alright?”
I turned my head to him and nodded. Despite the acting as ‘Kelly’ had finally finished, my pants and legs felt too blotched to move an inch. It feels like experiencing a period blood but the blood didn’t come out from the right place.
Get it?
“Bring Madam into the car and return to the main mansion.” Karl ordered the three underlings and they obediently agrees. After that, some of Raul’s underlings head near while bringing a huge bag to Karl. He took the bag and stood beside me.
“You have done a great job. It was less than what I expected when the blood pack suddenly ruptured, but I know you had a plan all in your hand.” Karl said in a respectful tone.
It’s hard to teel him that the matters regarding the rupture is just because of me getting tired of walking like a pregnant woman and decided to run normally instead.
I, for one, have never expected for Mia to literally drag me here and there while I guise myself as a pregnant woman. Carrying a 16 pound weight around your belly sure is tough, that it amazes me how all the mothers out there are able to carry the weight of their baby or babies this heavy.
Then again, the anxious girl is probably too nervous. I mean, you can’t just dash to the outside of the airport while being pregnant. And with my pace, of course the two of us will get caught. Luckily Mia didn’t realize I’ve been looking at my back and instructing those people to run slower so it would look like a goose chase. And as the toilet part, I just simply told them not to do anything but running around being a bastard group until the two of us left the airport.
Talking about dragging and toilet, I should probably shange my clothes now. But I really don’t want to walk with a weight on me.
“Call Raul. Tell him about us.” I accepted the bag from Karl’s hand while at the same time, trying not to let the bag’s polyester fabric to get near my bloodied clothes.
“Understood.” Karl is surprisingly a pretty easy person to speak to, considering the fact that the two of us just meet about a few hours ago just for the plan to get Mia.
He dialed a number on his smartphone and waited for a few moments for the call to be accepted, while I parted my legs a bit because my heel had started to feel sore from the weight. I wobbled and almost fell down when I caned my body to Mark who was crouching beside me as if acting as my boulder.
My brows raised a bit when I saw his knee literally dipped into the pool of blood. “Your clothes will get dirty.”
Mark shrugged, positioning my hand onto his shoulders for me to gain better support. “It’s just fake blood.”
I grimaced for a bit. “Then what if it’s genuine blood?”
Mark shrugged again, this time with a snicker. “I’ll probably run far away by then.”
We both giggled.
The surroundings died down again when me and Mark heard a conflicted ‘Hm’ coming from Karl as he creased his thin blonde brows and pulled away his phone. “Boss is not answering.”
“What?”
“One moment, let me call him again.” Karl immediately initiated the second phone call. “…Still not answering.”
I started to feel uneasy. Wasn’t he the one who’s enthusiastic about wanting to save his wife? Just where is he now?
“…Karl, we’ll split.” I began, while at the same time, my hands that was on Mark’s shoulders changed position to a more firm grip.
Karl is showing a rather disagreeing expression after I said that.
“I know this sounds strange, but just listen. Me and Mark will go back to the office, while you go back to the mansion.” I said before telling Mark to lift me up to the toilet to change clothes. I feel pathetic, but the 16 pounds be really getting to me right now.
“Why do we have to do that, if I may ask?” Karl slipped back his phone into the pocket of his outer coat.
I situated myself in Mark’s arms before looking at Karl again.
“I am not trying to dampen the mood, but I have a bad feeling about this.”
