Standing before me was an enormous creature, its wings capable of obliterating an entire city with a single flap. Yet, there it stood, offering its own heart to me. The heart itself dwarfed my size, making it impossible to consume entirely.
"It was excruciating to rip out my own heart, so hurry up," the creature urged impatiently.
"Why do I have to eat it?" I questioned, my voice betraying itself with a mix of curiosity and fear.
"Isn't that what you humans do to gain strength? Wait, are you even human?" the creature inquired, its voice tinged with uncertainty.
"No, I'm not fully human. I'm part elf," I admitted, trying my best to mask my nervousness despite my teeth chattering involuntarily.
"Is that so? I could have sworn that was the way for you humans. Well, regardless, since I've ripped out my heart, you can still consume it," the creature urged, growing increasingly impatient.
Reluctantly, I approached the creature's colossal hand, which held a heart at least five times my size. Hesitant, I glanced at the heart before locking eyes with the angelic being.
"Come on, hurry up. I don't have time for this. Don't you want power? Isn't there someone you wish to overcome?" the angel pressed, its words igniting memories of Ilva, who had always tormented me, forcing me into situations I loathed. In a fight, I stood no chance against her. With a final moment of contemplation, I decided to take a bite of the heart. Surprisingly, it tasted incredibly sweet, and I found myself devouring the entire heart within minutes.
"Now it's my turn to depart," the angel began, its voice fading mid-sentence. It shifted its focus, examining my entire being, and only then did I notice the radiant glow emanating from my body.
"What's happening?" I questioned, my voice trembling with fear.
"It appears you have acquired a unique bloodline," the angel revealed.
"What does that mean?" I queried, bewildered by the unfamiliar term.
"Regardless, it is time for me to leave. Farewell, child. May you have a prosperous life," the angel bid its final farewell, dissolving into small white particles that gradually faded away, leaving behind only memories.
As weariness washed over me, I closed my eyes, succumbing to sleep within the crater. Just before drifting into unconsciousness, a faint voice echoed in my ears.
