“You look a bit young to be a merchant. What’s your name?” Dante asked. He tilted his head when Cassius didn’t answer. The unblinking look on Cassius had Dante furrowing his brows. He waved a hand in front of Cassius who jolted back into the present.
“Yes?” Cassius said as if he had been holding his breath.
“I asked what your name was,” Dante said.
“Cassius… Albion,” Cassius said slowly waiting for Dante to make some sort of connection from his name. But Dante just leaned back and smiled.
“What a coincidence. You have the same name as my tutor,” Dante said.
Cassius opened his mouth then closed it. Of course. What had Cassius been expecting? Thousands of other people in the Kingdom had the same name as him. If not the first name then the last name. If not the last one than the first name. If neither of those then both first and last names. “What’s your name?”
“Dante Denzel,” Dante said. “Refreshing, isn’t it?” he grinned.
Cassius nodded his head remembering the question he wanted to ask. “That mark on your neck…”
“This one?” Dante subconsciously scratched the place where the mark was. “I was born with it. It kind of resembles a dying bird, doesn’t it?”
