In a fit of panic Cassius jumped out of the carriage landing squarely and very much unintentionally on top of one Dante’s shoe. Crunch! The bones inside of his foot sounded their demise crying like orphaned children, wailing like there was no tomorrow.

Dante gasped eyes wide and watering as he held his poor foot with one hand as he jumped on one leg trying to keep his balance. “Owe,” was the only thing that escaped his tortured soul.

“Oh, I’m terribly sorry about that,” Cassius said exaggerating his sincerity. His surprise lasted for mere moments before his thoughts turned calculating. He cupped Dante’s shoulder so that Dante could retain his balance if not his grace. “What to do? You can’t ride a horse like that.” He sent a sharp look to the Coachman who flinched.

“T-That’s right! You’ll probably only be halfway home before it gets dark. Not to mention your… injury will just slow you down,” said the Coachman a bit wearily his eyes turned slowly turned to see the pleasant expression on Cassius.
