Chapter 9 - First week at Celestial Academy, part 1

Chapter 9 - First week at Celestial Academy, part 1

Jun 05, 2023

Yoojin's mind was still hazy as he slowly regained consciousness. He blinked a few times, trying to clear his vision, and found himself staring into Ryūnosuke's eyes. He couldn't quite comprehend what was happening around him, but he felt Ryūnosuke's hand holding his own, grounding him in reality.

As he tried to make sense of the situation, Yoojin heard footsteps approaching. He turned his head to see the deputy, Professor Nakajima, entering the room with Jaein and Calisto. They spoke in hushed tones, and his best friend was wearing gloves and agitating the note he had found while unpacking.

Yoojin struggled to focus, his mind still clouded from the effects of whatever had happened to him. He felt his eyelids growing heavy, and he fought against the overwhelming urge to sleep. But it was no use. His eyes closed, and he drifted off into a deep slumber.

Yoojin slowly opened his eyes, squinting at the dimmed lights in the room. The only source of light was a crystal that was placed on the nightstand. He looked around the room, still feeling a bit disoriented, and saw that the deputy was seated on a chair near his bed.

"Good evening, Mr. Delaney." the deputy said softly. "How are you feeling?"

Yoojin rubbed his eyes, trying to clear his vision. "I'm okay, I guess." he replied groggily.

The deputy nodded. "I wanted to talk to you about what happened earlier." he said. "The note that you found had an enchantment on it. It made the person who touched it slowly enter a coma."

Yoojin's eyes widened in shock. "Do you think it was the one that broke into my room?" he asked.

"We are not sure, but we have found a faint trace on the note, and we are still analyzing it." the deputy replied. "We examined you, and everything seems to be okay. You just need some rest."

He nodded, feeling a sense of relief wash over him. But he couldn't shake off the feeling of unease that lingered in the back of his mind.

"What should I do now?" Yoojin asked, feeling a bit lost.

"For now, just rest and recover. We will keep you updated on any new developments." the deputy said reassuringly, standing up from his chair. "It's already late, you should get some sleep."

Yoojin looked over at the other bed and saw that Calisto was sleeping soundly. He felt a sense of comfort in knowing that his friends were there with him. He nodded, feeling a bit better. He closed his eyes and tried to relax, but his mind was still racing with questions and concerns. Who had put the enchantment on the note, and why did they want to harm him? Was he safe now?

He drifted off to sleep, his mind still foggy and his thoughts jumbled.

The next day, Yoojin, Calisto, and Jaein met up in the common room. "Are you feeling better?" Jaein asked, her voice soft and concerned.

Yoojin nodded, still feeling a bit groggy and shaken up. "Yeah, I'm okay." he replied. "But I'm still trying to make sense of what happened. I wanted to ask you guys something. Yesterday, when I woke up, Ryūnosuke was holding my hand. Was he the one who saved me?"

Jaein nodded. "Yes, he was. He has the power of healing, and since he is my betrothed, he was able to enter the dormitory and help you, even though he is an Alpha. We've known each other since we were kids, and our families arranged our betrothal."

Calisto continued to recount what had happened the day before. "I noticed that after you held the note, you were unresponsive. So I went to find the deputy, but I ran into Jaein and Ryūnosuke in the common room. I told them what happened, and Ryūnosuke went to your room with me while Jaein went to find the deputy."

Yoojin listened intently. "Thank you, I don't know what I would have done without you guys." he said softly.

Jaein smiled at him and hugged him. After their discussion, Yoojin, Calisto, and Jaein decided to head to the auditorium where the headmistress would be giving a speech to the new students of Celestial Academy for the beginning of the school year.

As they walked through the hallways, Yoojin couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. He knew that the person who had put the enchantment on the note was still out there, and they needed to be careful. He looked over at Calisto, who was lost in thought, and Jaein, who was humming a tune, and felt a little better.

When they arrived at the auditorium, they found that it was already packed with students. They managed to find a spot near the back.

The headmistress was standing at the podium, her voice booming through the speakers.

"Welcome to Celestial Academy!" she said, her voice filled with enthusiasm. "We are thrilled to have you here with us today. Before we begin, I would like to remind you that today, you will have a medical checkup and you will be fitted for your uniform. You will receive a notification on your tablet when it's your time. During your first week here, we have planned a series of activities for you in the morning. In the afternoon, you are free to roam around the school, but I highly recommend that you visit our clubs. In the evening, we have events planned for you, which I am sure you will enjoy. After the first week, you will receive your definitive schedule for the school year, and your lessons will begin. I encourage you to take your studies seriously and to strive for excellence in everything you do. Remember, you are here because you have the potential to become great Olympians. Once again, welcome to Celestial Academy. I look forward to seeing all that you will accomplish during your time here." she finished her speech.

Yoojin listened intently, wondering what kind of activities they would be doing during the first week. He hoped that they would be something that he would be able to handle. He looked over at Jaein, who seemed excited about the clubs, and Calisto, who was still lost in thought. Yoojin couldn't help but feel a bit anxious about the upcoming activities, but he knew that he had his friends by his side.

As the headmistress left the stage, Yoojin took out his tablet to check the program for the day, which was light. In an hour, he had the checkup and just after the fitting.

Yoojin, Jaein, and Calisto walked out of the auditorium, discussing the schedule for the week. Yoojin was a bit nervous about the activities, but Jaein reassured him that they would be fun. They made their way to the nearest cafe and ordered some drinks to pass the time before their medical checkup.

As they sat down, Jaein broke the silence. "So, have you guys looked at the schedule yet?"

Calisto shook his head. "Not yet. I wanted to wait until we were all together."

Yoojin nodded in agreement. "Same here. I hope the activities aren't too intense."

"Me too." Calisto replied, taking a sip of his coffee. "I don't want to be exhausted before classes even start."

Jaein nodded in agreement. "Yeah, I hope they're something we can all enjoy. Maybe we'll get to try out some new sports or something."

Yoojin felt a knot form in his stomach at the thought of trying out new sports. He had always been a bit clumsy and was afraid of embarrassing himself in front of his classmates. "I hope they're not too competitive." he said quietly.

"Don't worry, Yoojin." Jaein said reassuringly. "We'll stick together and help each other out."

Calisto chimed in. "Yeah, and we can always skip out on anything that's too intense. It's not worth pushing ourselves too hard and risking getting hurt."

As they chatted, Yoojin noticed his hands starting to shake a little. He tried to hide it by putting his hands in his pockets, but he knew his friends would notice eventually.

After a while, Yoojin observed that some students were chatting excitedly about the upcoming activities, while others were quietly studying their textbooks. He couldn't help but feel a little envious of their confidence. He wished he could be more like them, but he knew that it wasn't easy for him.

Jaein, who was always observant, pointed out a group of students sitting in the corner. "Hey, look over there." she said. "Those guys are from the fencing club."

Yoojin felt a pang of anxiety. Calisto, who was always interested in new things, perked up. "Fencing? That sounds cool. Maybe we should check it out. But how do you know which club they are from? Do you know them? I'm sure they didn't attend high school with us."

Jaein explained. "My brother is part of that club. We should check it out later this week. I'll ask him when he has time since he's also the school president and is really busy." Both Yoojin and Calisto agreed.

As the three friends finished their drinks, they received a notification that it was time for their medical checkup. Yoojin's heart raced as they made their way to the clinic, but he was relieved to have his friends there with him.

The checkup was quick and painless. Yoojin sat nervously on the examination table, his hands clasped tightly in his lap. He had always been afraid of doctors, but he knew he needed to get a checkup to make sure everything was okay.

The healer, a tall woman with long, flowing hair, approached him with a gentle smile. "Don't worry, Mr. Delaney." she said. "I'm just going to do a quick scan to make sure everything is working properly."

She held out her hand, and a beam of soft blue light emitted from her palm. Yoojin watched in amazement as the light passed over his body, scanning him from head to toe.

After a few moments, the healer lowered her hand and smiled. "Everything looks great." she said. "However, as a recessive Omega, I'm going to prescribe a custom-made choker for you to wear. This will help block your pheromones and prevent other Alphas from affecting you. You can give this prescription to the seamstress when you get fitted. I'm also going to give you inhibitors for your heats, just to be safe." She handed him the inhibitors.

Yoojin took the inhibitors, looking confused. "But I thought being a recessive Omega meant I didn't have to worry about Alphas." he said, putting them in his rucksack.

The healer nodded. "That's true to some extent." she said. "But it can still be dangerous for you to be around Alphas, especially during your heats. You could still be influenced by their pheromones, even if you don't realize it. And even if an Alpha isn't your fated mate, they could still mark you. So, be careful."

Yoojin nodded, feeling a bit overwhelmed by the new information.

The healer made a few notes on her tablet and then turned back to Yoojin. "By the way, I've booked a psychotherapy session for you this afternoon. You'll receive a notification on your tablet with the time. Since you have social anxiety and have been homeschooled for a long time, it would be helpful for you to talk to someone."

Yoojin nodded again and thanked the healer. He hopped off the examination table and headed for the door, feeling much better than when he had arrived.

When Calisto and Jaein had finished with their checkup, they went to the seamstress to be fitted for their uniform. She explained the differences between the uniforms of Alphas, Betas, and Omegas. Alphas wore black uniforms with white shirts and socks and a red tie, while Betas wore dark grey with a light grey shirt and socks and a blue criss-cross bow tie. Omegas wore white with black shirts and socks and a green bow tie brooch. Male Alphas and Betas wore pants, while Omegas wore shorts. The female uniforms had different types of skirts, with Alphas wearing pencil skirts, Betas wearing A-line skirts, and Omegas wearing pleated skirts.

Yoojin gave the seamstress the prescription for the choker and was the first to be fitted for his uniform. The seamstress worked quickly, and she handed Yoojin a set of five jackets, waistcoats, and pairs of shorts, three cardigans, ten black shirts and socks, three green bow tie brooches, and the choker. The choker was a delicate piece of jewelry made from a mint nubuck leather cord with two thin silver chains with stars and a small emerald at the center. It was designed to fit snugly around Yoojin's neck, with the emerald resting just above his collarbone. It was lightweight and comfortable to wear, and the soft texture of the leather felt soothing against Yoojin's skin.

To fasten the choker, Yoojin needed the help of someone he trusted. The seamstress warned him that the enchantment on the clasp was very powerful and it needed to be activated by someone who had a strong connection to Yoojin. This could be a family member, a close friend, or even a romantic partner.

Yoojin had chosen to ask Calisto to help him fasten the choker. He felt a bit self-conscious about it, but he knew that it was necessary for his safety. Afterward, Calisto and Jaein took their turns to be fitted. They thanked the seamstress before leaving.

The rest of the morning passed quickly, and in the afternoon, Yoojin went for his first psychotherapy session while his friends visited some clubs.

During the session, Yoojin introduced himself to the therapist, and they began to speak about his apprehensions about school. The therapist suggested that Yoojin try to join a club that he was interested in. When the session ended, Yoojin went to meet his friends and discovered that Jaein had joined the ballet club, while Calisto opted for the orienteering and geocaching club. That night, they went to the movie night on campus and watched a romantic comedy.

The next day, they went on an organized mini-train tour, which was quite amusing. After lunch, they visited other clubs, and Yoojin decided to join the Tai Chi club. That night, there was a game night at the student center, but Yoojin and Jaein didn't want to participate, so Calisto went with his brother.

Yoojin and Jaein decided to spend the evening together in the common room. Yoojin was engrossed in reading on his tablet while Jaein was busy drawing on hers.

Jaein suddenly looked up from her tablet and asked Yoojin if he wanted to meet her brother, Jaeseong, at the fencing club the next day.

"Sure, I'd love to meet him, and I'm sure Calisto will be glad to come too." Yoojin said.

Jaein smiled, happy that Yoojin was willing to try new things. "Great, I'll let him know. I'm sure he'll be happy to meet the two of you too."

They continued chatting for a while longer, discussing their favorite books and movies.

As the evening wore on, they both began to feel tired. Yoojin closed his tablet and stretched, feeling a bit stiff from sitting for so long. Jaein put away her tablet and stood up, yawning.

"Well, we should probably head back to our rooms." Jaein said. "It's getting late."

Yoojin nodded. "Yeah. Thanks for hanging out with me tonight. It was really nice."

Jaein smiled. "Of course. We should do this again sometime."

They said their goodbyes and headed off in opposite directions. As Yoojin walked back to his room, he met Calisto, who had just come back from the game night. Yoojin told him about meeting Jaein's brother at the fencing club the next day, and Calisto seemed excited about it.

"That sounds like fun." Calisto said.

They prepared themselves for the night, and as Yoojin settled into bed, he felt a sense of contentment.

Hi everyone, here is a new chapter.

In this chapter, we get a glimpse of the first week of Yoojin at Celestial Academy. You already know that Calisto possesses extrasensory perception, and Ryūnosuke possesses healing powers, but you still don't know what powers Lucas, Jaein, Jaeseong, and most importantly Yoojin have. We will discover more about their powers in the next chapter.

Also, in the next chapter, Jaeseong will come back. What do you think his role will be in this story? Will it be important, or will he stay only Jaein's brother?

On a personal note, I recently stumbled upon a webtoon cover that caught my eye. I was disappointed to find out that it wasn't available in English. However, the synopsis intrigued me, and I am considering writing a novel in a similar universe. While I initially planned to focus solely on "Memory of a Dream," my muse had other plans for me, and I have started working on this new project. I hope to start publishing chapters next month, but "Memory of a Dream" will remain my main focus.

As always, please don't forget to like and subscribe to receive notifications for future chapters. Thank you for your continued support, and I can't wait to see where this story takes us.
