Thalia's vision becomes blurry with dark spots as they step into the passageway. Her eyes attempt to adjust from walking through that dark, poorly lit stairwell. After rubbing her eyes, the first thing she noticed was how poorly the room was cleaned. Cobwebs in every corner with dust flying in the air.
The room was filled with old-looking weapons and objects. Some of the weapons even had rust building up on their metallic hilts. However, what Thalia knew for sure was as soon as she stepped into this room. Each of these objects began humming with an immense amount of aura, and there was no doubt that every object in this room was extremely powerful.
"Thank you for allowing me a small nap." Vice-captain Alexander murmured as he lay against the wall with his top hat over his face.
"While you were relaxing, Thalia passed out from the pressure. Or whatever! I called for you. Don't pretend you didn't hear me. Your hearing is excellent, especially considering you could hear our conversation clearly above ground while lying under that tree." Theo, now yelling, walks toward him. He looked angrier than Thalia had seen him in a long time.
Theo's arms began to look bigger, and his stature seemed to shift from timid to intimidating. The shadow cast on the wall was not his own. It was around five feet larger, with massive muscles the size of Thalia's head.
"I'm normally a patient and understanding person. However, I feel you knew bringing her down here would cause that." Theo said, now standing directly in front of Alexander.
His eyes glowed a scarlet red. Theo's amber-red aura becomes faintly visible as anger builds up in his chest. Theo's skin glowed, giving off heat so fierce steam was visibly rising from his skin.
"Oh, you siblings are quite a handful. I see now why she assigned you to us, and the latent power hidden within the both of you is a bit scary." Alexander says, laughing.
"Although it takes monsters to house train monsters properly," the air and dust in the room fell still.
Alexander flipped his top hat onto his head while still lying down. "I get it now. You're a shrewd coward as long as your sister has no chance of being harmed. Well, aren't you a lion hidden in sheep's clothing?"
Theo's anger still growing as his amber-red aura shrouds him, creating a foul feeling in Thalia's stomach. She hates when her little brother gets angry. He doesn't seem like himself when he gets riled up like that.
"You graduated 2nd in your class, correct? Then that would mean you are pretty smart. What was the first rule they taught you at the institute?"
Alexander picked himself up from the ground wiping the dust from the back of his suit.
"The strong dominate the weak. The weak submit to the strong." Theo whispered under his breath, still clenching his fist.
"So you do remember." Alexander cocked his head to the right and smiled real wide.
"I would argue your senses are the strongest I have ever seen. Ever since you saw me under that tree, you knew that if you and I were to fight 100,000 times, you wouldn't be able to win a single time. Even if you rely on that nasty power of yours, it would probably end with me killing you and your sister." Alexanders' deep blue eyes seemed to glow.
Thalia could almost swear she saw the one under his eye patch turn to gold for just the briefest of moments. When his eye glimmered with gold, she felt a cold shiver go down her spine. A feeling she was familiar with. The only thing was, she thought the only person who could make her feel paralyzed in fear was her Tia. The man in front of them didn't seem human for just a second. If Thalia thought of her Tia's power being angelic like a goddess. Then the vice captain's powers were definitely reminiscent of a demon.
"And yet knowing all that. You still decided to bare your fangs at me?" Alexander says, still holding that same creepy smile.
Theo's anger was close to boiling over. He didn't care if he could win. At the very least, he would attempt to punish someone who would purposely hurt his sister. Theo's right arm begins shifting and morphing, increasing in size and muscle structure, when he feels a hand on his shoulder.
"That's enough. I am fine, Theo Calm down." Thalia says in a sweet voice disarming her brother's rage.
Theo unclenches his fist, and his arm starts to deflate to its normal size. He pushes his hand through his hair, obviously embarrassed.
"Sorry, I lost my cool there. Hopefully, there are no hard feelings, vice-captain." Theo says before awkwardly laughing.
Alexander Claps his hands together, and the air in the room returns to normal, and the bad feeling in Thalia's stomach subsides.
"You two will make great additions to our rag-tag unit. I think our captain is going to love this!" Alexander says, grabbing Theo and laughing like a madman.
