Ah, the Mothman. The favorite of YMCA remixers, TikTokers, and Sarah Anderson. Not much is needed to be said about this shadowy fiend. But, let's start with Wikipedia's definition.

"In West Virginia folklore, the Mothman is a humanoid creature reportedly seen in the Point Pleasant area from November 15, 1966, to December 15, 1967. The first newspaper report was published in the Point Pleasant Register, dated November 16, 1966, titled "Couples See Man-Sized Bird ... Creature ... Something". The national press soon picked up the reports and helped spread the story across the United States. The source of the legend is believed to have originated from sightings of out-of-migration sandhill cranes or herons."

"The creature was introduced to a wider audience by Gray Barker in 1970 and was later popularized by John Keel in his 1975 book The Mothman Prophecies, claiming that there were supernatural events related to the sightings and a connection to the collapse of the Silver Bridge. The book was later adapted into a 2002 film, starring Richard Gere."

"An annual festival in Point Pleasant is devoted to the Mothman legend."

Many people, specifically teen to young adult girls on Tumblr see the Mothman as a cute fluffy little moth boy. Which, I do not need to defend or disparage. There is nothing wrong with liking these cryptids. It is nothing like the Tumblr girls who romanticize or worship serial killers. (See the previous episode for more details.)

What I'm sure not many people knew about the Mothman, he has never harmed anyone. There have never been any (recorded) injuries done by the Mothman. And also, he was first encountered in Clendinin. Reports of "a flying humanoid" were near the Elk River Trail State Park. Denny Bellamy said on the topic, "It wasn't originally spotted at Point Pleasant, it was first seen at Clendenin. I don't know why it migrated here, but I suppose it had something to do with the ordnance factory.".

Hey everyone! This was requested by my uncle. I asked my parents, him, and my aunt (his wife). He said Mothman, so I thought, "What the hell, I might as well do it.". Sorry how short this was, I just didn't really know how to go about this document. But, I hope you enjoyed it. Cheers!
