The world once again turning bigger than usual. This time, I see three humans looking at me shockingly. And that monster over there.
“You sure have a unique ability!” Says the guy, quickly recovering from a shock state as the situation is still dangerous for them. The monster is plunging towards them, ignoring me from the rest of the humans.
Hmmm. This ability sure is effective. I got it. Let’s leave that monster to those adventurers over there. After all, I am still a powerless noob.
That guy, he is a swordsman. Seems like he is the leader of the group as he is the one giving coordinates and the main damage dealer. The older lady over there is also a sword user. Considering how well they work together, I guess they have been partners in combat for such a long time. The younger girl, probably similar age to me. She is a magician. She is the person I am interested in the most. My master says magic is an inherent ability. I want to know more about that. At the same time, I feel jealous as well. I want to use magic as well.
That monster is a tough one. Three of them are not weaklings but that monster is way tougher.
OH NO!
The beast’s tail manages to swing a direct hit to that guy. Sending him flying, smashing him into the trees.
“Elliot!” The teen girl shouts and runs towards him. Seems like she is also a healer in the team. Only the older sword lady is left behind, distracting the beast from her allies.
I want to help. But I have no strength.
I want to help. But I am no warrior.
I want to help. But I have no bravery like them.
The beast seems to gurgle something inside its mouth. This is bad. Could it be a lethal attack? But that swordsman is still unconscious, the magician still healing him and that sword lady cannot protect both of them.
I have to do something.
I switch back to my human form. Running fast to the beast as it is distracted by the adventurers. I jump and climb from the back. The beast already noticing me. But my empty thought only aims for one thing. I run on its large back while almost falling as the beast started to move again. I jump and grab its head. I pull my stone dagger and stab into one of its eyes.
The monster makes the most horrendous sound ever.
But the sword lady never falters and takes the opportunity. Her sword slash the exposed neck of that monster, causing it to bleed rapidly.
But the monster is very tough. Such a slash to its neck is not enough to kill it. The strong shake is causing me to be thrown to the ground. It is a strong hit. That monster looks so angry already. It is becoming more violent.
As I flatly lay on the ground, I see a glowing dark blue pearl under its belly. Could it be?
Nah, it could be now or never.
My whole body hurts but I have to stand up. I clench my hands tightly, summoning the leftover strength to me. I lunge forward and land right underneath the monster’s belly. With my precious stone dagger in my hand, I stab the pearl hard, causing the dagger to break through.
In the last moment of my consciousness, I see the exploding bright light as it overwhelms me.
