After Flos had finished her talk with Larua, the receptionist came back in with Flos's ID card and papers. She then gave Flos directions to where she needed to go. Flos left through the back of the building, which led to a stone path. A nice breeze swept up into the dry, warm air. The trees gently swayed as if welcoming her, and little wooden wind chimes that hung in trees sang a gentle melody. Again this would have left a very calming effect on her if she didn't see the dead, twisted souls crawling on the ground in front of her.
She followed the stone path until she came to three forks in the trail. Next to the middle pathway stood a large black metal clock, which showed it was officially 1:43 pm. She sighed at just wasting three precious hours in the Reception Building. She was hungry and tired. Her ten-mile hike to get to town had made her feel exhausted. As well as the extra five miles to get to the Y.C.U., she decided to walk back some as there was a bench to rest at.
She was thankful for her Aunt, who had packed her a delicious snack. Her snack was baby carrots, celery with peanut butter, and an apple coffee cake muffin. Flos also had her water bottle to prevent choking on the muffin. But she was most likely going to choke on the water. Flos soon realized the twisted souls were coming closer.
They're dark shadowy figures crawling closer and closer to her. Shouting and screaming join us in our forbidden hell, chained like dogs from our lingering desires. Out of the group of twisted and dark souls, one was already at her foot. She could look into its bottomless black mouth full of dead children's heads. It screeched and cried for Flos, waiting for her to panic so it to can devour her head.
Flos stay calm, her eyes going dead and emotionless. Its eyes were like dark moons or deep black holes that drew you in. Tears of blood flow down. It slowly reaches for Flos's leg with its boney, long sharp black nails; that could easily take your leg off. Its mouth got more eminent, stretching its cheeks. The rest soon surrounded her, preparing to chop her up and devour her. Flos hand quickly unscrewed the lid to her water bottle. Every muscle in her body was ready to spring into action. Only in the blink of an eye, all their heads rolled off. As their bodies fell to the ground, all the bones of the little children they had devoured spilled out.
"Tch! I hate it when lower-ranked ghosts try to steal my prey. Oh, could you be a dear and not look back?"
A giant scythe enveloped Flos into a deadly hug. But her eyes still looked at the half-eaten and half-rotten bodies pouring onto the ground. And evaporating it into dust.
A gloved hand covered her eyes, and she felt the warmth as he whispered. "Fear not, little Gattino* and do not look at such monstrosity."
She slowly lifted the hand that covered her eyes and replied, " I had it covered. I didn't need help, Larua."
"But thank you, that was very generous of you."
"I wouldn't thank me, my lil' Gattino. I can easily behead you."
"Hey, why do you keep calling me..." which was quickly interrupted by Larua as he said, " Ooh, snacks. We'll take those. Okay, gattino, I'm off. Stay safe, alright? No more attracting evil spirits while I'm gone. Okay bye, bye." He left just as fast as he arrived, and he took her food. "Hey, wait... Ughhhhh! He already left. Damnnnn it!" she stood there a couple more minutes before heading off to the black metal clock, which showed it was 2:10 pm.
Flos wasn't wearing anything fancy or pretty. She wore a plaid blue, white, and green long-sleeve cotton shirt. The top three buttons were open, showing a little cleavage. She wore jean shorts that stopped two inches above her knees. She wore a pair of a star-shoes that stopped three inches under her knee. The shoes were navy blue. She wore a long braid that stopped slightly between her shoulders. She was a mix of Polish and Italian. Her hair was brown, and in the sun, there seemed to be some red as well. She had amber eyes. And finally, she was wearing a necklace her Aunt had made her as a little girl.
I was afraid I wasn't going to be able to update but I did, and you guys are done with chapter 1 Flos. So hooray! And I'm feeling pretty good so I might start working on the beginning of the next chapter.
*Gattino is italian for kitty. In other words Larua is getting back at Flos for the name she gave him or is he?
