The world suddenly came to a stop for all of them. The wolves panicked and were in disarray, Royal and the rest were in a state of shock sensing a powerful presence marching toward them. Royal retreated as the wolves searched for whatever was causing them to be in so much distress but couldn't find it. They were all paralyzed from the pressure that was closing in. Soon enough they all looked toward the Ice forest getting a good sense of where the person or thing was approaching from. The wolves fell to the ground and wet themselves in fear as a man walked out of the forest seeing the teens in distress. Without hesitation the man moved toward the wolves and grabbed onto one of them and proceeded to slam its skull into the dirt smashing it open. Blood splattered all over the area but never on the man himself. The second wolf cowered as water fell from its eye. Nonetheless the man didn't care. He tore the wolf's head clean off and threw the carcass afar with the final wolf awaiting it's imminent demise. Nick shouted still feeling the pressure weighing on him from the man. He looked over seeing Nick somehow standing in his field. He gave him his attention as Nick said what he wanted to say.
"Shit! Don't kill that one! It's not their fault! I accidentally aggravated them!"
The warrior spoke with a deep tone but gentle.
"That doesn't mean they won't come for other humans. Just because you leave it alone and ignore it doesn't mean it will murder and feed on the flesh of us."
Nick was completely silent unable to defend his or the wolves actions.
The man picked up the wolf and placed it back where it belonged seemingly letting it live. The animal turned back as a baby wolf came into view as he stared into it's black eyes. The two wolves ran into the icy forest to not be seen again.
Royal thought to himself unable to believe the situation.
"He let it live even after what he just said? No no.. beside that who is this man? He managed to suppress three wolves at once without even doing anything."
The man asked for the three's name and was given it just as quickly. They were all tense as a bat unable to stay quite when given a question by the man.
"What year is it?"
"It's the year 485 of the constellation calendar."
Royal claimed with confidence.
".. I see."
Out of nowhere Nick and Cloudy got on their knees begging for the man to take them with him wanting to learn how to get strong just like him. Surprisingly he was flustered and gestured with his hands that they didn't have to grovel on the ground like they were. Royal took note that the man was apparently not very good when under pressure in this kind of situation.
"I-I get it.. I'll teach you. You may call me Hunter."
Cloudy and Nick brightened up almost enough to light a light bulb and thanked the man for his generosity. Hunter asked another question peaking their interest.
"Are you all from the town of merchants?"
They all responded in unison without a hint of lies between their teeth.
"Yes."
Hunter invited them back to the town with him as their bodyguard for the time being while they asked questions about his life.
"How did you get so strong?"
Nick wondered with sparkles coming from his eyes.
"Ha.. ha~. Well you see~.. I live within the icy forest that you all were near and I train there doing difficult exercises."
"Like what?"
Nick asked.
"Endurance training. That is the key. I run around the entire forest three times over and do a repetition of other activities. There is much more but that is not important right now."
Nick shouted aloud questioning all of his fantasies so far.
"That's it?! No finding a legendary item to make you powerful?!"
Hunter comically laughed setting the rest off for a moment but adjusts as he says no to his question.
"Only training and your will power will take you places, of course there is talent in play."
He adds pointing out that was important as well.
Nick tried to continue with his list of questions he strangely had ready but was stopped by Cloudy telling Nick to not hog everything to himself. Nick replied with a condescending tone toward his friend.
"Look Cloudy we all know that you're the weakest here so you can ask him your things last alright? Glad we all are in an understanding here."
Veins began to pop out of Cloudy's head as his tone was louder than usual.
"If we fought now it's clear that I would win."
Hunter had no idea what to do and stepped aside not wanting to get in the way of their banter. Royal and Hunter both stayed clear and let the two duke it out with one another. A fight that would determine what may happen in the future from then on.
