Ch. 6 - Ol' Friendly Reunion
After Hunter's departure into the second passageway he pressed on with the pressure of the forest seeming like an ant compared to what he was experiencing now close to it changing reality itself. The malice from before was close to take shape ready to sink its fangs into him with resentment in the air. His footsteps would echo throughout the medieval hall with the only light helping him move forward was dim torches being suppressed by the aura running amuck. No form of natural light could seep inside giving any hope for luck to come into play with a strong smell of blood coming from the very end of the hall. The further he went the more detailed the area became with more and more thought put into it. The sounds of his steps made a symphony with whispers of cries and screams of agony. The final thing to really get into his head was a glimpse of a woman similar to be his lover. Just seeing a inaccurate image of her almost made him stop completely and think about what he was doing. In the end he had a goal and knew what he had to get done and so he forced himself forward with an unbreakable will. His eyes sparkled with conviction and life passing by tricks and illusions that were only a test. After walking down the hall for sometime the next thing he realized was now he was climbing up a long stair case. The space around them was beautiful with no more whispers of cries and wails of woe. Stars from afar flew out of reach but never out of sight. The very staircase he stood on was made of glass floating in an colorful empty space toward a doorway up ahead. Each step he took left a crack on the fragile stair without him showing a single worry only focused on what was ahead of him. Once he reached the top there was a throne room doorway that was the final entrance to what lied ahead with possible riches and treasures known to all humans. It was a place supported by four gigantic pillars with magma inside the pillars for an intimidating atmosphere. What lay in the center is a powerful throne capable of commanding an army of great power. He was stunned by the beauty of the room and how wonderful its structure was, all the way to its fine details it had. Hunter came in catching a good glimpse of the mysterious figure sitting on the majestic throne covered by the dark hiding his entire self. Even when it was aesthetically pleasing the atmosphere around them was the complete opposite, awful.
"Who are you?"
Hunter ordered with a stern tone.
The man instead crossed his legs and only observed never giving the answer Hunter wanted not frightened by his presence whatsoever. He watched each twitch from Hunter's body with the littlest of habits he would make. Hunter demanded for him to be ready to battle knowing that the man ahead of him would not go down by words alone. With threats coming at the mans way it was as if he had expected it and became even more relaxed than before moving his finger in circles out of boredom. He took out a book from beside him and flipped over a few pages before stopping at a page that peaked his interest. The figure's voice was deep with a gentle tone to it when neutral.
"π°ππππππ πππππππππππ πππ ππππ ππ ππππ..
π΄ π·πππ πππ ππ ππππππππ..
π±ππ ππππ ππππ πππ ππ ππ.
πππππππππ πππππ ππ ππππ π΄ πππππ.
ππππ ππ ππππ ππ ππππ΄ ππ πππ πππππ πππππ΄?"
Hunter put his hand to his chest getting a stinging sensation in his chest with no visible cuts nor slashes brushed against his body questioning the man what he had done. The man instead redirected his question back at him giving him the answer Hunter already knew.
"It's not I~ but what you've done. This is your past but still cannot let go of what you seek? Those words I've spoken resonated with you and somehow still leave you blind to your doings?"
A knight in dark armor took a brave stand and confidently marched his way down the steps moving further from the throne. He had two axes on his back one for each hand to wield with during battle. Each step left the ground leaving a crack underneath his footing.
"You who has killed a god cannot deal with a simple emotion? You are dealing with not something of my doing but simply never not allowing yourself to lose grip of what you seek."
In a tenth of a second Hunter zoomed in front of the knight ready to punch in that thick helmet of his into the ground. The gauntlet from the man raised up to protect himself capable of going against Hunter's fist with a shockwave shattering the ground all around them. Winding up an attack, the man used his body as a weapon bulldozing his way past taking Hunter along with him forcing one of the pillars to collapse from the landing. Hunter stood back up unaffected without a scratch on his body nor bruise on his face. No words had to be said with their fists doing all the talking. Each blow left the area shaking from the punches with neither one of them tired from the constant force being pushed onto both of them. They traded blows until they were both launched away from one another giving some time to think of what was next. Or so at least that was what the man had thought right until he saw Hunter coming back for seconds just a few feet in front of him. Suddenly Hunter's vision became dimmer with the light coming from behind the man covering him. The man grew more in size with his breathing sounding more of an animal than a human. He threw a punch at him with such a great amount of force that the wind was whirling at high frequencies. The punch landed straight into his cheek sending him bouncing around the throne room like a rag doll. Only just then was it that Hunter finally calmed himself and started to think things rationally as blood began to pour down the top of his head slowly. Not allowing him to recover the knight sped up from behind and was ready to take him out for good. He took out one of his axes from his back and was ready to bring it down until he could feel an immense amount of pressure rushing their way.
On the other side of the gate Royal waited a few minutes before Cloudy had woken up and asked how he was feeling thinking he was burned to a crisp. Cloudy replied honestly mentioning that he felt fine and nothing was wrong. He took a turn over to Nick seeing his body almost cut into two. He stared at it not believing what he had just seen. He had to rub his eyes and take a more detailed gander and even then he thought his eyes were playing tricks on him. It was until his body caught up to him that he had to face reality. He began to hold onto his mouth trying to stop himself from throwing up as he turned to Royal wondering what in the hell happened while he was out? He explained the most important events to him especially mentioning that Hunter was the one to do it in order to save them.
"Is N-Nick alive~?"
Cloudy muttered without looking back at him or Nick.
"... I'm unsure. Judging how.. he was slashed he isn't."
"Oh fuck- oh fuck..."
Cloudy shouted in worry.
Royal stood up and began to walk away heading toward the stairway up toward the gate where Hunter entered. Cloudy called for him wondering what he was up to thinking it would be better to stick together.
"Hunter is in there probably fighting something. Whatever is in there is the same as Hunter or at least I think so. That intense pressure Hunter had when we first saw him.. The animosity I felt here is on par with that."
