“So,” said Barnabas. “It’s getting colder.”
“Isn’t it great?”
“Maybe we should think about some warmer clothes. For our, uh, journey.”
Vincent looked shocked until the corners of Barnabas’ mouth turned up, just a little, the smallest of smiles. The boy in the purple scarf grinned and said, “Oh, my fuck, I’m so excited. We should get sweaters.”
“Sure.”
“I like sweaters.”
“I know.”
“I bet you’d look cute in a sweater.”
“I doubt it.”
“You would.”
“You just want to put me in a sweater so you can take it off.”
“Maybe.”
