I woke up cradled in Thomas’ arms and after a few moments of happiness, remembering the night before, I suddenly shot up, panic in my chest.
“Aero?” Thomas grumbled, reaching for me, “come back to bed it’s too early.”
“I…”
“Shh,” he rubbed my back gently, “are you panicking over what happened?”
“Mhm…”
“When’s your next period?”
“Two weeks.”
“Then we wait and see,” he leaned up and gently kissed between my shoulders, “but for now. Will you please come back to bed?”
“Okay,” I cuddled back down on him, “aren’t you worried?”
“Hm,” he traced my spine under my shirt, “maybe a little. It’s not so much the idea that… you could have gotten pregnant. I’m more afraid of how my parents will react. I also feel guilty because if you are…”
“It pushes my transition back,” sighing, I ran my fingers down his side.
“A little. I’m so sorry…”
“It takes two to fuck,” I laughed softly.
“I wish it had been more romantic. Not just you craving comfort. I couldn’t resist. You’re all I’ve thought of for half a year. So when you were open to it I couldn’t stop myself.”
“If I didn’t want to do it, we wouldn’t have,” I cupped his cheek and softly pressed my lips to his, “I…”
“You’re so warm,” he groaned quietly, his leg resting between mine, “oh?”
“I… wake up turned on sometimes. I can’t help it,” I could feel my cheeks grow warm.
“Can I give you a little more romance this time? I don’t know if I want to go all the way until we know for sure that… anyway… let me make it up to you a little bit. It’s still dark out.”
“What are you going to do?” I whimpered as he hooked my leg over his waist.
“Just touch you a little. We slept in barely anything after all. I can feel how turned on you are. Is it me?”
“Yes,” I whispered, “I’ve thought about you a lot when I…”
“Well you don’t have to imagine it anymore,” he licked my chin as he slipped a hand into my underwear, “I’m going to move in with you when we get back to Berkeley. Anytime you need me, Aero. You just ask. I’ll take care of you.”
“Fuck,” I moaned softly, closing my eyes, “promise?”
“Oh, I swear,” he whispered in my ear, “I’m yours.”
“I’m… I’m yours too,” I panted, taking him in my hand.
Thomas grabbed my wrist with his free hand, stopping me, his eyes wide, “what do you mean?”
“I’m not ready to be boyfriends yet. But… I also won’t let anyone else touch me this way. Kiss me. Anything romantic or physical. I’m… yours, Tommy. When I’m ready, I’ll tell you. But I belong to you. You see me for who I am. You accept me as I am. I can see that. I can’t promise I won’t still be mean to you when we’re not in these moments together, I’m mean to everyone, but know that it comes from a place of caring. I’m only mean to people I care for.”
Thomas sniffled before pressing his lips to mine, warmth flooding me and I smiled, fighting him for control, our tongues dancing together. He pushed me onto my back and rested on top of me, his hand running down my body to push my leg up and he slid back into my underwear, teasing me gently as I shook, my hands on his back as I gripped his shirt.
“So warm on my hand. So perfect. You’re really ready,” Thomas laughed softly before sliding one in, “I love how you feel, baby boy.”
“Tommy,” I whimpered, “god yes!”
“Are you already going to make a mess of my hand again?”
“Mhm,” I nodded quickly, before letting out a shout.
Thomas slowed, a small smile on his face and he softly kissed my nose, “good boy. You do so well.”
“But what about you?” I panted, my eyes closed.
“I’m still pretty hard,” he rubbed himself against my inner thigh.
“G… get off me for a minute.”
Thomas rolled onto his side, looking at me confused and I wrapped myself in a blanket, running to my parent's room. As gross as it felt, I dug through the drawer next to their bed and grabbed what I needed, running back to my room and closing the door behind me.
“You… really want to risk it again?” Thomas looked at me confused as I tossed what I had grabbed to him.
“I checked the date. I can’t get used to how you feel if we don’t… it’ll be okay. You can also tell me no. I like touching you so I’m fine with just doing that.”
“You’re not too sore?” He squeezed my hip when I climbed back into bed with him.
“Should I be?” I looked at him confused.
“A little. You’re really tight. I’m pretty… thick. I'm just worried I’m hurting you, baby.”
“I’m fine,” I kissed him softly, “I’m absolutely fine. Please, Tommy?” I kissed down his jaw and onto his neck, “I won’t push but I want you.”
Thomas growled at me softly when I bit his shoulder and he got ready in a rush, triple checking to make sure everything was where it should be.
“Let me get on my back again,” I whispered against his chest and he stopped me, shaking his head.
“Get on your stomach,” he whispered in my ear before biting my earlobe.
I did as he asked and he slowly lifted my hips. Tucking a pillow under my chest, I buried my face into it, letting out a loud moan when I felt his fingers on me again, “Tommy,” I whined.
“Shh,” he kissed my lower back, “I’ll give you me in just a minute. I want to make sure you’re ready.”
Thomas continued teasing me for a few minutes before he slowly pressed against me, rocking back to give me time before he was suddenly buried deep, a scream ripping from me.
“God that’s amazing,” I whimpered, tears in my eyes.
“Y… yeah,” Thomas panted, “yeah you are.”
Thomas’ hip movements were fluid, nothing more than a controlled roll, enough pressure to leave my legs shaking as I dug my fingers into the bed, panting filling the air from both of us.
“Sparrow,” Thomas leaned down and kissed any part of my back he could, “Aero… God baby.”
“G… give it to me… please,” I whimpered.
“Okay,” he placed his arms around my waist and started pulling me back against him, making me cry in pleasure, “there we go. Such a good boy. Don’t ever show anyone else this side. Only… only I get to see it.”
“Mhm,” I nodded, biting down on my pillow.
Thomas rested his entire body weight on top of me, never slowing and I turned my head enough to catch his lips, panting quietly.
“I’m close,” Thomas groaned, his eyes tightly shut as he wrapped his arms around my chest, squeezing me.
“G… go ahead.”
Thomas began slamming against me, deep-throated growls escaping him and I could feel him grow just a bit thicker as he bit my shoulder, panting cries falling from his lips as he shook.
“Did… did you?”
“I did,” he laughed, staying still, “I know you did.”
“A few times…”
“It’s easy to tell with you,” he gently licked my neck, “you tighten around me.”
“You get a little bigger,” my eyes fluttered closed.
“You need to clean up,” Thomas whispered gently in my ear, “you can get a UTI or something. Come on,” he slowly slid out and I whimpered, “miss me already?”
“A little,” I whispered.
“I promise that as soon as your surgery is done, I will be inside of you as often as I can.”
“Okay.”
I followed him into the bathroom and after we cleaned up, he left so that I could use the restroom. Once I felt settled, I made my way back to the bed and flopped down, laying my leg over his as I grabbed my phone to check the security cameras for the house. They ran on battery which meant they still recorded everything from the night before.
“Oh, what the fuck!” I shouted when I noticed something on the camera before jumping out of bed and running down the hallway, Thomas right behind me, confused.
We came to a stop at one of the bedrooms and I threw the door open to find my older brother Callum in bed with what I assumed was his girlfriend.
“Hi baby bro,” Callum winked.
“When… did you get here,” my face flared.
“Oh just before the power came back on last night. I was going to knock but… I could hear you were a little busy. You’re quite loud.”
“Shut the fuck up, Cal. I hate you.”
“Love you too. Listen, why don’t you get the hell out so I can have some fun and we’ll all meet for a very awkward breakfast.”
“Ugh,” tossing my hands in the air, I grabbed Thomas and drug him back to my bedroom, slamming the door behind us, “he absolutely heard all of that.”
“Come here dork,” Thomas laughed, pulling me to the bed and into his lap, making me straddle him, “it’s okay,” he kissed me softly, “that’s the crap part of having siblings. When you start… being what we are in a house that other people will be in, you'll get caught. You’re not quiet.”
“But… we’re still in this flux of uncertainty. We don’t… know if…” my eyes grew damp and hot and Thomas wrapped a hand around the back of my head, forcing me to rest my forehead on his shoulder.
“What’s the worst that could happen?”
“A baby. We're so young. You could leave if I’m… that’s what Kai did to Violet. Well no it’s more complicated than that but I don’t want to lose you and suddenly have you show up in six years.”
“I’m not going anywhere,” he gently rubbed my back, “you’re my best friend, Sparrow. At the end of the day, no matter what, we’re friends. I want more, but I know you’re not ready.”
“Thank you,” I whispered, “for respecting it.”
“I’m not big on friends with benefits but… you’re worth it. I’m patient. Yeah, we rushed the physical part a bit but emotions need time and I know that,” Thomas’ phone started to ring and I leaned over to grab it, handing it to him, “Hey papa.”
“Hey kid,” a beautiful, fluttering tone came from the other end of the line, “we miss you. Are you doing okay?”
“I’m okay, Papa,” Thomas smiled at me and I hesitantly returned it, “I’m just with Sparrow and his family for the holidays since my flight got canceled. Did Dad tell you?”
“He did. I’m glad you have Sparrow. You’ve talked about him so much.”
“Chip,” I groaned, “don’t embarrass me like that.”
“Oh! Hi,” Thomas’ grandpa laughed, “I’m Adrian.”
“Well I don’t really think I need to say it but I’m Sparrow Hartley.”
“Oh no. Eeyore is back,” Thomas snorted.
“Shut up Chip,” I pushed him gently.
“Never,” Thomas snorted, “Papa? How’s Papa Lucas?”
“He’s okay. It’s a bad memory day but I’ve given him the notes and he’s reading over them. I know your flight is grounded this year, but… but I need you to try and be here in the spring… I don’t think Lucas will remember us for much longer.”
“R… right. I’ll come out as soon as I can. Can I ask you something?”
“Anything.”
“If,” Thomas looked at me and I nodded, twirling a piece of his hair around my finger, “how disappointed would you all be in me if I dropped out of college? I hate it. It was a mistake. I never should have-“
“We know, Tommy,” Adrian laughed, “you never should have gone. We’re aware. But you made a friend in Sparrow by going so it’s not all bad. No one would be disappointed but you have to figure out a way to live kid. Your parents won’t pay for your apartment if you’re not enrolled. They’ll make you come back to Indiana.”
“Don’t worry, Mr. Williams,” I smiled at Thomas, “he’s going to stay with me for now. I’m only in my first year. Tommy agreed to stay with me in Berkeley until I graduate. We’re… best friends now after all.”
“Sparrow!” Callum called from outside my door.
“Ugh,” I groaned, “it was nice to talk to you for a minute, Mr. Williams. My stupid brother wants me.”
“Just call me Adrian. Tommy, I want to talk a little more.”
“Mhm,” Thomas smiled as I climbed off of him and left the bedroom, closing the door quietly behind me and dragging Callum to the living room.
“What?” I stared at my brother.
“Who did you bring home? Where the fuck is Casey?” Callum rubbed my arms softly.
Callum and I had always been close, we were only two years apart in age, and he was my biggest confidant, the person that I trusted the most in the world. He knew things about me I had never shared with our parents and I knew that he would keep them to himself if I asked.
“Casey cheated on me. I ended things months ago. Like 5 months ago now. I texted you about it.”
“I thought it was temporary. You were together for so long…” he patted my head softly, “I’m sorry.”
“I’m not. Casey was bad for me. He cheated, misgendered me constantly. He wasn’t a good guy.”
“I never liked him but I just want you to be happy. So… you have a new boyfriend?”
“N… not exactly,” my face flared and Callum laughed, his crooked smile plastered on his face.
“Oh! Little brother, I am so proud of you. But how do Dad and Pa feel about you bringing a…”
“He’s not just for that! It just sort of happened. Tommy is the reason I knew what Casey was doing and we’ve been spending a lot of time together. He’s a good guy. We’re friends… best friends… and uh… we… are going to be doing things until I feel ready to actually admit that I have feelings for him…”
“Do you?” Callum ran a hand through my hair.
“Maybe a little,” I whispered, “Cal?”
“What’s wrong, Aero?”
“We… we were… well you know last night and… it broke…”
“What b… oh Sparrow,” he gasped, “you can still get pregnant!”
“I know!” I shouted back, “trust me I’m fucking well aware of this. I’m scared, Cal…”
“It’ll be okay,” he hugged me tightly, “I… fuck… Pa is going to kill you.”
“I’m prepared for that…”
“When will you know?”
“I’m supposed to get my period in two weeks so if it doesn’t start then…”
“Then you call me and we’ll figure it out.”
“Well he has to tell me first,” Thomas called from behind me, “hello,” he waved when we looked at him, “Tommy Williams.”
“Callum Hartley,” my brother nodded, “nice to meet you. Keep it down yeah?” he laughed, “look. What Aero just told me… that stays between us. I won’t share. But I’d like to be kept in the loop okay? I can help.”
“How?” Thomas tilted his head, coming over to us and I took his hand, clinging to his warmth.
“Did Aero never tell you what I go to college for? I’m going to be an OB-GYN.”
“Huh? That’s shocking,” Thomas laughed, rubbing my hand softly with his thumb, “you look more like a boxer.”
“That’s because he is,” I rolled my eyes, “it’s why he’s so stupid. Been hit in the head too many times.”
“God you’re an asshole,” Callum laughed, “are you guys hungry?”
“Mhm. I need to pull the pies out for Pa too. If I don’t, he’ll yell at me and…”
Callum visibly shivered as Thomas looked at us confused.
“Pa is terrifying when he’s mad,” Callum whispered.
“He’s like the same size as Sparrow. How scary could he be?” Thomas laughed.
“First, I’m bigger than you, so shut up,” I stuck my tongue out at him, “second. He becomes an entirely different person. Actually… not that different from you. I thought you were going to kill Casey to be fair.”
“I would have for you,” Thomas poked my nose and I pushed his hand away.
“Don’t touch me.”
“We’re literally holding hands. Idiot,” he rolled his eyes, taking a step closer to me, “you’re so wishy-washy.”
“Sparrow… um…” Callum started and I shook my head quickly, “Right. Not my business to share.”
“Share with me when you’re ready,” Thomas rubbed my cheek softly.
“I… right okay.”
There was a soft yawn from the hallway and we turned to find the girl that Callum had brought home, only wearing one of his oversized t-shirts. She was absolutely gorgeous, her nose closer to a button, small, heart-shaped lips, her hair dyed a beautiful mahogany that stood out against the peach tone of her skin. Her eyes were sky-blue and when she smiled her entire face lit up.
“Hi!” she bounced over to us, “I’m Hannah Sterling.”
