Long ago, the world was a wonderful place, filled with magic and beauty. Magic was a natural force that flowed through everything that existed, creating harmony and balance. Humanity lived alongside magic, learning from it and using it for the common good.
But everything changed the day a group of ambitious wizards sought to dominate magic and use it for their own purposes. They created a powerful artifact that allowed them to control the magical core of the world, the source of all magic. With that artifact, they intended to bend the world to their will.
But their plan went awry. The artifact was too unstable and exploded, releasing a vast amount of wild magic. Wild magic was chaotic and destructive, corrupting everything it touched. It spread throughout the world, causing disasters and giving rise to monsters.
The world became a horrible place, filled with chaos and suffering. Humanity had to struggle to survive in a hostile and dangerous world. Magic became a curse and a threat.
But not all was lost. There were still people who believed in magic and in the world. People who dreamt of a better future. People who boarded the Wanderer, the train of dreams.
Amongst those people were three women: Catalina, Elisa, and Alejandra.
Catalina was a peasant who lived in a small village in the forest. She was a simple and kind woman who loved nature and animals. She had a loving husband and a son who brought her joy.
Catalina was content with her life until the wild magic reached her village. A horde of deformed creatures attacked the village, killing anyone they found. Catalina witnessed her husband's death in her arms and saw her son vanish in the flames.
Catalina escaped the village with what little she had left: a book of poems by Miguel Hernández, a photo of her family, and a silver dagger. She ventured into the dark forest, fleeing from the shadows that pursued her.
She didn't know where to go, only that she had to escape. She held onto hope of finding her son, embracing him, and telling him she loved him. She hoped to find a safe place, a refuge to start anew.
Then she saw the Wanderer, the legendary train that traversed the world. She ran towards it and managed to board the last carriage. She had boarded the Wanderer.
Elisa was a student who lived in a crumbling metropolis. She was an intelligent and curious woman who loved art and science. She had supportive parents and friends who admired her.
Elisa was content with her life until the wild magic reached her city. A wave of panic swept through the streets, leading to riots and looting. Elisa witnessed her parents being killed by thieves and saw her friends devoured by beasts.
Elisa fled the city with what little she had left: a book of poems by Federico García Lorca, a pistol, and a red dress. She made her way to the outskirts of the city, escaping from the creatures that stalked her.
She didn't know where to go, only that she had to escape. She held onto hope of finding a safe place, somewhere to live in peace. She hoped to find something intriguing, something that would give meaning to her life.
Then she saw the Wanderer, the legendary train that traversed the world. She ran towards it and managed to board the second-to-last carriage. She had boarded the Wanderer.
