“Why wouldn’t I be ok?” I ask him.
“Because you were in a coma for a week. It was so scary, I thought you might die.”
Oh.
“Why is everyone riding giant ants? Aren’t ants supposed to be tiny?” I ask.
“No, Ants are our transportation. They’re like cars.”
Oh. The boy hooks his arm through mine.
“You woke up just in time for the party! Let’s go!”
We hop onto an ant who carries us to the party. Inside, there’s a disco ball and other kids are eating snacks and dancing. A chill, calm song is playing. The boy drags me to the dance floor. A girl runs up to me.
“Oh wow!” You’re awake. I thought you’d be in that coma for years, Blink”
“My name’s not Blink, it’s Bop.”
