"we need the blood transfusion, stat!" a nurse cried out. the room was bright with beeping monitors everywhere. "i'm sorry, but where am i?" he asked quietly, grabbing onto the nurse's shirt. the nurse looked down and gasped. "he's awake! i repeat, he's awake!" the nurse cried out to the rest of the nurses and doctors in the room. they quickly got anesthesia and injected it into him. "where am i...?" he asked again, turning his head to his left. looking through the window to outside of the operation room. "ethan?" he said quietly. he pointed towards him weakly while looking at him with his glassy eyes. "ma'am, is that ethan choi? is he here to see me?" he asked quietly. there was no response and he turned away. "oh, okay then" he muttered, falling back into unconsciousness. 

about an hour or two later, he woke up in a hospital bed with bandages wrapping around his waist. he opened his eyes and saw ethan lying by his side in a chair. he raised his hand and pat his shoulder to see if he was awake. he turned his head to look outside and saw the city. it looked pretty clean and nice but he wasn't sure how it actually was down there. the sun had just risen and bird were flying through the sky not that far away from the hospital.

he turned his head back to ethan and saw that he was now awake. "oh. ethan, you're awake" he muttered with his hands by his side. ethan hung his head and rested it on the bed. "hey. are you alright?" kai asked, grabbing his hand gently. ethan didn't raise his head, but just laid it against kai's stomach. "are you crying?" he asked, lifting his head with his hands. and he definitely was. when their eyes met, ethan threw himself into kai's arms and sobbed quietly into the hospital gown. "oh" he muttered quietly, hugging ethan back while a few tears fell onto the back of ethan's jacket. "are you crying too?" ethan asked through a quiet sob/chuckle, looking back up at him. kai nodded and wiped a tear from ethan's eyes. ethan fell back onto kai's chest and cried out all of his worries to him. "i was so scared, really. why did you do that? why were you even there?" he asked in between sobs. "i'm sorry" kai muttered quietly, hugging ethan tightly. "well, you should be. stop trying to kill me like that" he cried. "i know"

from outside of the hospital room stood the detective tsukauchi and toshinori. behind the two were a few of kai's classmates. he smiled happily from seeing the young couple reunited. "i think we should leave them alone for now" he whispered, closing the door quietly behind him.
