alone in a crowd stepping on the sky

gym gamma training

gym gamma training

Jun 23, 2023

music - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SszP3hlQ55Y (Halazia by ATEEZ)

kai and his classmates stood around in a crowd in gym gamma in their costumes as cementos was kneeling down on the ground forming things, yk. "this is the training kitchen lab. tkl for short!!" he said, back still facing the students. "what the fuck" he thought to himself, after seeing the partially wet cement drip as if it were water. "this facility was my idea. here i cook up the perfect terrain and object to fit each student's needs" he said "hence kitchen" he heard kaminari mutter a quiet "i see" under his breath beside him.

he jumped back a little bit after feeling a strong gust of wind to his left, nearly hitting him. "may i please ask a question?!" iida asked out loudly with his hand up. aizawa nodded and iida put his hand down. "why must we create ultimate moves in order to acquire our provisional licenses?!" he asked/yelled. "please explain the intention behind such a requirement!!" aizawa did a shooing motion with his hand. "all in good time, calm down" he spoke, calmly.

(dialogue moment incoming, read with caution).

"heroes deal with accidents, catastrophes, and disasters. both natural and manmade" aizawa spoke. "it's our job to save people from just about any situation imaginable. in the licensing test, your ability to adapt in those situations will be observed, naturally."

midnight joined in on the speech and stood tall with her body slightly slanted and put her slightly balled hand under her chin. "intelligence gathering, decision making, mobility, combat prowess, as well as, communication skills, charisma, leadership abilities. the test contents vary from year to year, but applicants are always tested on a variety of criteria" she shifted her stance and removed her hand from under her chin. "among the criteria, you can be sure that combat prowess will be heavily prioritized for potential heroes. be prepared, and you've got nothing to fear! these moves could have a big impact on whether or not you pass."

cementos stood up and smiled, or what they thought were a smile. "if you can keep a cool head and act with decisive, stable moves, that means you have a high level of combat prowess!" he spoke up, happily.

"there's nothing that says your ultimate moves must be an attack. for example: tale iida's reciproburst." ectoplasm spoke. at the mention of iida's attack, he stiffened a little bit, proud. "that sort of extreme speed boost on its own is intimidating enough to be called an ultimate move" iida pointed his face to the ceiling and teared up a little bit. "is it... really suitable to be an ultimate move?!" he cried, a little bit.

"i get it... so we gotta come up with moves that'll give us a big advantage in battle." sato said aloud, looking over at iida momentarily in concern.

"yes!" midnight said happily through a smile, pointing her finger at sato. "remember how kamui woods showed his stuff last week. his lacquered chain prison is a cookie cutter ultimate move. it's simple and easy to understand. he binds the opponent before they can do anything."

"your summer camp was cut short, but the quirk training we began there... was a part of the process of creating ultimate moves. in other words, until the second semester starts, you'll be using the ten remaining days of summer vacation to enhance your quirk and put together your ultimate moves..." aizawa spoke. during aizawa's speech, ectoplasm created multiple copies of himself, and cementos suddenly burst out platforms from the ground. "... through some intense training" aizawa finished. the copies of ectoplasm stood on top of the platforms and waited for the students.

"and as your quirk grow and you star to formulate your ultimate moves think about whether you need to alter your costumes. use that plus ultra mentality to go beyond your limits" he said. "ready?" aizawa asked, rhetorically.

"this is gonna be good!!" kaminari yelled through a smile. it hadn't seemed awkward at the moment for other people because they had been feeling pumped from the speech, but it made kai feel extremely awkward.

during the training duration, all kai did was fly around, and work out, which was all he needed to do. eventually though, kai had kicked ectoplasm's clone a little too hard to the point that he had to be sent to recovery girl. that was before all might showed up.

the training had continued for four days. kai had built some muscle, yet he still was slim.

"that's enough, class a!!" the teacher for class 1B yelled after bursting through the doors. "tlk is supposed to be ours this afternoon!" he yelled out.

"it's class b" midoriya said calmly, although, kaminari was a little bit less calm. one would even say panicked. "what bad timing!!" he exclaimed.

"eraser. get going, now" vlad king said, definitely not that happy. "we've still got about ten minuets left. i aim to use our time efficiently" aizawa retaliated.

while all of the students had been now on the ground level, kai hadn't noticed their entrance and had continued to work out.

"hey, have you all heard?! about how half those taking the licensing test fail it? i best you're all gonna fail, class a!!!" monoma yelled out, in hopes of appearing less nervous and anxious than he had been.

during that yell, kai was still working out, still not noticing.

" so what's up with monoma's costume?" kaminari asked kendo while pointing at him, smiling awkwardly.  "he told us that because he copies others' quirks, he doesn't need some flashy, eccentric costume" kendo replied. "looks eccentric enough to me" he said to himself.

"yet... he's right." tokoyami spoke "in this test, we will be as beasts thrown into the ring... it is our fate--"

"damn, this is difficult. i wonder when i'll be able to break through this" kai thought to himself, kicking and punching at a cement wall in front of him.

" -- to crush each other" tokoyami said, looking down at the ground.

"not quite. class a and b are registered at different exam sites" aizawa spoke, visibly relieving monoma's anxiety, causing him to freeze.

"the standardized hero licensing test is held every year at three different locations around the country in both june and september. in order to avoid direct competition between the same school, it's common practice at all school to have different classes register separately, at a different time or place." vlad king spoke.

monoma sighed out in relief, still in his frozen face. immediately afterwards, he started to yell and laugh again. "what a shame that i won't get to beat you all with my own two hands!!" he laughed out.

"didn't he just give a sigh of relief?" kirishima muttered to kaminari. "they should come up with a name for whatever disorder he's got" kaminari responded.

"at all school?" sero said aloud "we usually don't pay them any mind, but, i guess we're gonna be competing against other schools"

midoriya looked down at the ground, frowning "yeah, we're also ahead of the--"

"oh my gosh, finally" kai thought to himself. he had broke off a little chunk. "at least i broke a little bit of it"

"--typical licensing schedule" midoriya spoke.

"it's a small number of students who gain their provisional licenses as first years. which means you'll be against some students who've experienced very advanced training. this test will bring together students with polished quirks you've never seen." aizawa spoke out.

finally, some of the students had noticed that there were repetitive smashing noises coming from near the ceiling which had been kai. he was getting closer to breaking the cement wall. his hands were bleeding just a little bit. his legs were starting to hurt, too.

"though the exam contents are unknown, i assure you that this will an uphill battle for everyone. don't psyche yourselves out too much, but be aware of what you're facing." aizawa finished, with his arms crossed.

finally, a loud crash was heard from kai, and there bore a large hole in the cement wall. if there were those who hadn't noticed the smashing noises, everyone had now definitely noticed.

"gosh, finally" kai muttered to himself, jumping down to pick up the broken off pieces.
