Inside of the all powerful barrier, time had lost it's meaning and the outside tens of thousands of years went by in few seconds.
The barrier had opened up and Aziel came back to reality. He follows his most basic instinct as a child and starts crying.
In the forest a few kilometers away.
" Big brother are you sure we should enter this forbidden area. Not even the almighty fifth sky fire pheonix dares to come here. " says a young dwarf.
His elder brother replies " Stop whining, most rewards are near places of risk and we'll have to go through danger to become stronger anyway. "
Suddenly they hear the cry of a young child. They immediately turn their heads in the direction while getting startled. The Elder brother's face lights up " I told you we could find some opportunity from an ancient expert, that cry must be a way to make people go away. " the younger brother already gets startled and didn't want to follow, but going back alone was just as scary to him and reluctantly follows his brother.
After running for a minute, they arrived near Aziel and their heads immediately get puzzled.
" What is a young child doing here in the middle of the forest?! How did it even survive in this place ?!! "
After a short talk they decide to take the child with them. They weren't sure what to do with him and it was also hard for them to raise a child with the meager amount of coins they had. The last option they had was to sell him, not knowing that the whole fate of the Imperial Demon Family was resting on his shoulder.
After a day of traveling and constantly getting lost they reached a slave camp which was stationed inside a forest. It was a huge tower like castle made with grey dungeon bricks surrounded by forests on all sides. The camp was like a run down palace. The place for slaves where kept was broken, sewers leaking, no roof on top of their head. It was just an area with four tall walls where they kept mining ores.
As soon as they reached the camp the door guards knew just by looking at their shabby clothes that they were here to sell slaves and not buy any.
They gave them a grunt and pointed them toward a little camp with a long line without trying to have any conversation with the lowly people.
After a few hours of waiting in line they finally reached a little camp where they saw a man from the felc race sitting behind a table looking all noble.
They presented the young baby who was wrapped in a dusty towel. The felc inspects the baby by opening his mouth and checking for any illnesses while it obviously looked like he was doing his job halfheartedly. The baby began to cry immediately. The Felc seemed annoyed but then saw the two small black horns on his forehead. " Hmmm a demonkin, haven't seen one from quite the time. I'll give you six copper coins for him. "
The two dwarves immediately give a hearty smile. Six copper coins was enough for them to eat dinner for a week, and for them it meant a week of not having to work. They leave the camp satisfied never to return.
Seven years later, we see a young boy from the demon race swinging his pickaxe against a thick block of stone. He had long ashen white hair which gave off the gleam of snow. His eyes were a bright gold which shined like the sun. He had a two small black horns growing on his forehead which was what symbolized him being a demon. He was wearing torn clothes which were already too short for him with a few holes in them. Even with the torn clothes he looked like a cute little kid who could make a person smile with his glance. This boy was no one other than Aziel.
The older slave replies " You wouldn't know since you just came here but he is actually of the demon race which have an innately strong physique. I've heard others saying that he was sold when he was a newborn and was taken care of until he was three, and started mining from the age of three. He's probably around seven years old right now. And he even treats others kindly, giving us food from time to time if we couldn't mine enough ores. "
The slave replies " Huh? The demon race, but I've heard that only high class nobles were able to afford to have demons as slaves. A backwater place like this in the corner of the continent won't be able to keep a demon. Higher ranked nobles would probably fight for him. Everyone knows having a demon slave shows off a families' authority. Which means he's probably going to be bought by some big shot pretty soon. I think I should go greet him. "
He walks up to Aziel who happily mined ores striking his half broken pickaxe on the hard stone.
" Hey there, little demon. I'm Mustog fron the dwarf race. What's your name? " he asks him in a friendly voice.
" Huh, oh me, My name is Aziel. " he said letting out a big bright and cute smile.
" Do you want to mine over there with us? There's a lot more ore over th- " he gets cut off by one the wardens screaming " Aziel come follow me immediately!! "
Aziel quickly runs off behind the warden and enters a luxurios room filled with comfortable sofas and golden lamps which lit up the room perfectly. But his gazing over the room was cut short when someone walks over to him.
He was a human who was astonishingly huge with a lot of muscle, wearing heavy dark armour. The man seemed quite grumpy and had a moustach and a beard which made him look like a fierce hunter. He had a few scars on his face and body which made him look all the more scarier. He suddenly spoke up with a grunting voice " This little twerp is the demon I was sent to buy? "
