Shine opened her eyes and began to stand up, the snow falling from her pelt just as gracefully as it had built up upon her. The light from the sun temporarily blinded her vision, reminding her of just how dangerous even the safest places could turn out to be. Stretching, she shook her head and again looked up, squinting her eyes to see how she could escape.

After a while of searching the cave for any way out, she spotted a few ledges that she could jump on. She walked over to the lowest ledge, one that was hardly above her paw, and hopped onto it. Looking up, she leaped onto the next ledge, which required her to jump her own height. Determined to see what the world had stored for her, she continued leaping onto ledges as big as her own body until she reached the boulder she first tripped over.
I made it!

It was at that moment that she remembered what had happened to her handlers. Guilt overshadowed her emotions, and she sat down as she began to hyperventilate. She sat down for several minutes, her vision becoming blurry the further the time went, and her heart beating faster every second.
