Exhausted from their destructive rampage, Aviana and Albert finally found a moment of respite. They settled down amidst the debris, catching their breath and allowing their racing hearts to steady.
Aviana, still catching her breath, managed to find words amidst the heaviness in the air. "That (*huff) was so (*huff) satisfying," she declared, her voice laced with a mix of exhilaration and weariness.
Albert turned to her, his gratitude evident in his eyes. "Thanks for bringing me here," he said, his voice tinged with sincerity.
Aviana let out a breathless laugh. "You're starting to lose your mind, Doofus," she teased, though her words held a hint of fondness. "No, seriously, thanks," Albert insisted, his gratitude unwavering.
Aviana nodded, a small smile gracing her lips. "You're welcome," she replied, her fatigue momentarily overshadowed by a sense of camaraderie.
As the stillness settled around them, Aviana reached into her pocket and pulled out a cigarette. She lit it up, the smoke curling around her fingers as she took a long drag.
Curiosity sparked within Albert, and he couldn't help but ask, "Hey, just a question."
Aviana exhaled a plume of smoke, her gaze fixed on the distant horizon. "What is it, numbnuts?" she replied, her tone playful yet tinged with the weight of her experiences.
"Why do you smoke?" Albert inquired, his voice filled with genuine curiosity.
"To release some stress," Aviana answered, her words carrying a hint of vulnerability. Smoking had become a way for her to momentarily escape the turmoil within.
"Oh, okay," Albert responded, accepting her answer without judgment.
A mischievous thought crossed his mind, and he couldn't resist pushing the boundaries. "Hey," he called out, catching Aviana's attention. "What?" she responded, her eyebrows raised in anticipation.
"Can you let me try one of those?" he asked, his voice laced with a playful tone.
Aviana's face contorted into a look of disbelief. "Oh god! No!" she exclaimed, her rejection swift and decisive.
Confusion clouded Albert's features. "What? Why?" he questioned, genuinely perplexed.
"I'm not going to teach you how to smoke," Aviana stated firmly, her resolve unyielding. "I don't want to be responsible for that."
Albert couldn't help but challenge her reasoning. "You joined me to destroy Jolie and Cedric's relationship, you dragged me into destroying this place, and now you don't want me to smoke?" he pointed out, a playful glimmer in his eyes. "Are you feeling like you're a bad girl? Lol."
Aviana's eyes widened in surprise, her face flushing slightly. "Dude! Ew, gross! That sounded dirty in my ears, lol," she retorted, a mixture of amusement and embarrassment coloring her words.
Albert burst into laughter, his playful demeanor shining through. "Lol, so are you going to let me smoke?" he pressed, unable to resist the teasing.
A mischievous glint danced in Aviana's eyes as she delivered her final verdict. "Nope," she replied, a hint of satisfaction in her voice.
Albert shrugged, a playful smile on his face. "Okie dokie," he responded, accepting her decision with good humor.
Albert's phone buzzed in his pocket, indicating a new message. He retrieved it and saw that it was from his sister, urging him to return home.
"Oh, my sister wants me to go home now," Albert informed Aviana, his voice filled with resignation.
Aviana nodded understandingly. "Okay, see you at school then," she replied, her tone tinged with a hint of disappointment.
Albert's mind raced as he walked outside, the encounter with Jolie and Cedric still fresh in his thoughts. A new idea began to take shape, an alternative approach to their mission.
"Oh, right," Albert suddenly exclaimed, his voice brimming with excitement. "I just thought of a good plan."
Curiosity flickered in Aviana's eyes as she turned to face him. "What?" she asked, eager to hear his proposal.
Albert's gaze met hers, determination etched on his face. "Instead of sabotaging them, I think we need to make them fall in love with us," he stated, his voice filled with newfound conviction.
Aviana's eyebrows shot up in surprise. "But isn't that harder, though?" she questioned, her skepticism evident.
Albert nodded, his voice filled with confidence. "Harder, but more effective," he explained. "If we can make them develop genuine feelings for us, it will be easier to split them apart."
Aviana pondered his words for a moment before a smile played at the corner of her lips. "That makes sense," she conceded, her own determination resurfacing. "It's a bold move, but it just might work."
Albert gave her a nod, their shared understanding sealing their pact. "I'll be going now. See you," he said, his voice tinged with anticipation.
As Albert walked down the dimly lit street, consumed by his thoughts, his phone buzzed, interrupting the silence. He fished it out of his pocket and saw that Keanu was calling. With a sigh, he answered the call.
"Hey," Albert greeted, his voice tinged with weariness.
"Hey Al, your sister texted me," Keanu began, his tone filled with curiosity.
Albert's heart skipped a beat, realizing that his lie had been exposed. "Oh yeah, about that," he stammered, searching for an explanation.
"I had to cover for you, dude. Why did you lie?" Keanu questioned, his disappointment evident.
"Dude, I'm sorry," Albert replied, his voice laced with regret. "I just didn't want her to worry."
Keanu let out a skeptical chuckle. "Yeah, right," he retorted, his voice skeptical.
Albert's desperation grew. "Seriously, I'm sorry," he pleaded, genuine remorse in his words. "Let me treat you at school on Monday as thanks."
A brief silence followed, and then Keanu relented. "Okay," he agreed, his voice softening. "Don’t do that again ok. Are we cool?"
Albert breathed a sigh of relief. "Yeah, we're cool," he confirmed, a small smile playing on his lips.
"Okay, bye. I've got to run home," Albert added, already starting to pick up his pace.
But before he could end the call, Keanu spoke up, stopping him in his tracks. "Wait!" he called out urgently.
Albert's heart raced, a mix of curiosity and trepidation filling him. "What?" he asked, his voice tinged with unease.
"Why are you trying to sabotage the relationship of Jolie and Cedric?" Keanu asked, his voice laced with confusion.
Albert froze, the shock rippling through him. His mind raced, trying to process Keanu's words. To be continued...
