It was late afternoon when the prince finally made his way back to the cottage. Samantha had been laying in an awkward position for many hours. Samantha was messaging her neck when she heard hooves. From the sound of it was just one horse, with no carriage. For some reason she was sure it was the prince. From where the carriage was park, she could have easily seen the prince coming. Still she felt slightly better staying hidden like this. Despite the control she had shown earlier she was shaking in fear now. She understood why Celia tried to run but all the same this plan only worked if everyone did their part.
The rider pulled up behind her and dismounted the horse. She could hear the rider tying the horse to the fence. Her heart was pounding and her shaking was getting worse. She closed her eyes and started praying that this plan would go well. After a few minutes the rider had walked away from the horses. Besides the rider's footsteps fading away Samantha was unsure of everything else even still it was like she was a ghost floating behind the prince.
She could see him walking towards the door, he whistled as he walked. He's clothes were different from what she had seen him in this morning. His hair was out and it looked damped. In one hand he held a bouquet of pink roses with gold spots, his other hand he was holding a bag. She was sure there were strawberry buns in there. It seemed to be the only thing the prince ate while he was in town.
He opened the door nonchalantly. Samantha held her breath as she watched him walk in and Celia walked towards him. She could see Celia shaking and sobbing hard. The prince turned around and Samantha let out a little scream. He was staring right at her but instead of coming at her he closed the door.
