One sunny summer day, as fate would have it, Jacob's return coincided with his neighbor, Youssef, arriving at the building. They found themselves waiting for the elevator together, as they stood there, a peculiar silence enveloped the space. Both Jacob and Youssef wore expressions of icy detachment, seemingly oblivious to each other's presence. The elevator doors finally opened, and they stepped inside together.

The atmosphere remained tranquil, with an eerie calmness permeating the air.

Finally, the elevator reached their designated floors, and they stepped out, each heading towards their respective homes. It was exactly 9 p.m., the golden hour when mischievousness seemed to come alive.

Just as Jacob and Youssef reached the entrance, Lily emerged, holding a bag of trash, clad in one of Jacob's oversized shirts and her wild, untamed hair flowing.

Jacob couldn't help but stare at Lily, his frustration evident, as he exclaimed,

"I told you not to step foot outside the door!"

But Lily, without a care in the world, stared intently at Youssef, who returned her gaze with equal intensity.

It was as if a spark of anger and animosity passed between them.

Jacob found himself bewildered, observing their peculiar interaction.

An awkward silence hung in the air for a moment before Lily abruptly approached Youssef and tossed the trash at him. She stood tall before Youssef and exclaimed,

"You're the dimwit who complained about me last time! Do you think the college belongs to you?"

Youssef lunged towards her, attempting to reach her, but Jacob found himself holding Youssef back,

ensuring he didn't harm Lily.

Youssef shouted, "Just leave me," He gestured toward Jacob,

"You foolish girl! Wait! I'll show you what I can do!"

Jacob found himself caught in the middle, trying to separate the two. He exclaimed,

"Stop it! Are you both children?"

Ignoring Jacob's plea, both Lily and Youssef responded in unison, "Don't yell!"

Their simultaneous retort only added to the absurdity of the situation. Jacob, at his wits' end, grabbed Lily and Youssef by their hands and forcefully ushered them into his apartment.

He closed the door behind them, muttering, "Fight it out to the death!"

Then, in a momentary lapse of judgment, he re-entered his apartment, rummaging through Youssef's pockets until he found the key to Youssef's abode. Then he went out again and locked the door, leaving them in the house alone.

He then entered Youssef's house, locked the door, and leaned against it.

Taking a deep breath, he muttered, "Finally, some peace."

He entered Youssef's apartment to make himself comfortable.

On the other side, Lily and Youssef stood face-to-face, their anger still palpable.

Both of them locked in an absurd standoff, neither willing to back down.
