Good and Evil... Dangerous and Safe... Hunter and Hunted...

Sounds simple, right?

Yet, it’s so much more complicated than anyone would ever think.

Witches and Demons have been regarded as evil and monstrous for most of history.

Many in the supernatural world would never question whether that’s true or not. Not even normal humans, whom they hide from, can compare to the black magic in these ‘evil creatures’.

That doesn’t change even when a seemingly more peaceful and accepting time arrives in the world.

It simply takes a different form.

But the meaning and end remain the same.

However, these complicated feelings and thoughts couldn’t be further from that child’s mind.

The little girl innocently plays with her favorite stuffed animal. Such things never even cross her mind.

After all, she is no more than a small kid who barely understands how the world works.

She doesn’t see it yet... even if the signs surround her. They take form in the dark shack where she is hiding... in her loneliness while waiting helplessly... and instinctive fear and distance of the entrance...

And just like any normal kid, her eyes light up when the door of the shack opens with a click.

“Mattheus!” as a blonde and thin man steps inside, the little girl immediately jumps up and runs to him.

But she jumps in his arms and hugs his neck more gently. She is obviously trying to avoid hurting the man’s long ears and fragile wings.

And that makes ‘Mattheus’ chuckle. His wings flutter as he happily pats the child’s head.

“I’m home, Est.”
