Chapter 4: Drunk Struggle
As all the villagers left for their respective homes, Charlie tried his best to keep the king upright and steady, slowly leading him to his horse.
Charlie cursed at the fact that Elias had strictly ordered no guards to attend to him that evening. The only reason he gave was that they made him 'depressed.'Charlie didn't even know what that meant.
Charlie stood with lean muscle despite his brittle age, even so, he could not carry a 180lb man for long.
“Sir, can you please walk a bit more steadily, if you move too much we both might end up falling to the ground.”
Elias was like a newborn giraffe when he drank. His legs would become flimsy and weak.Sometimes when he went out to drink, he didn't even make it back home due to the fact he would be stuck in an alley somewhere! Causing poor Charlie to panic, and when they would find Elias and 'bring' him home he would start nagging saying how Charlie was being overdramatic and that he should calm down for once.
All Charlie did was sigh and shake his head, well if he did anything else he would most likely start crying. He hated the way Elias didn't care for his own well being.
Elias grunted in Charlie's arms not wanting to listen to him and continued to basically drag his own feet on the ground.
It was late at night and Elias just wanted to go home and rest his dizzy head,"I'm tired,” Elias grumbled in discontent over the fact that Charlie was taking his sweet time taking him to his horse.
Poor Charlie had already had buckets of sweat all over his back making it even more unbearable in the damp atmosphere.
“We’re almost there, please hold on for a little bit more,” Charlie barely huffed those words, his ragged breathing was making it hard to speak a coherent sentence.
After almost 10 minutes of Charlie dragging Elias with an arm over his back they had made it safely where the horses were located. Well kind of because Charlie was near death huffing and puffing while Elias just had been on the side of Charlie's body allowing his big boy ass to get dragged.
“Ok…. Elias….. Get on…. The horse,” Charlie wheezed out those words looking ahead where he let Elias just stand.
“No.”
huh? No?
“what do you mean no?”
“You can help me on it” Elias slurred his words–Charlie understood it perfectly.
Elias stood there swinging from side to side, eyes heavy with sleep. Charlie had his hands on his knees trying to catch his breath. Elias was drunk. How can he just get on his own horse by himself, of course he had to help him on his horse. Charlie heaved a big sigh, just wanting to get it over with.
After a couple of seconds of trying to catch his breath he stood up straight and went to go help his majesty. He crouched down next to the horse intertwining his fingers so that his hands connected, making a little step stool for Elias.
“Ok, alright Elias come here and put your foot onto my hands so I can push you up onto your horse.”
Elias wobbled over to Charlie doing exactly what he told him to do. After a few failed attempts and Elias almost eating shit from how wobbly he was, he made it onto the horse without any further problems.
Elias was even more tired from the little exercise he had to do to get on the horse so he decided to sleep, putting his upper body against the back of the horse's head.
Charlie knew that Elias wouldn’t be able to ride back home by himself so Charlie grabbed one of the reins and used a piece of rope he had from one of his side satchels.
