She took a deep breath as she again remembered what had happened with her handlers. 

"May not know everything."

Shine looked up at Patience again, hoping her words would convince him to let her stay with the pack despite her lack of knowledge on some subjects. Her desperation for appreciation was great, and she knew she would kill herself if Mother Nature didn't do it for her. She felt unworthy of any love and of life, but deep inside, her natural instincts convinced her to keep herself alive despite her need to die. Unlike other breeds, German Shepards like herself were bred for hard work and labor, keeping those survival instincts in tact. 

"Follow me, puppy."

Patience quickly stood up and walked towards Shine, wrapping his tail around her back. He sniffed her paw pads, making sure she was able to walk on her own before trotting towards the right of the cave, towards a small patch of trees. She followed close behind him, making sure to hunch herself down just a bit to show she was submissive and had no intention of biting his back.
